Thursday, 17 April i'm not gaining much at all either. i am kind of blaming my low carb gestational diabetes diet for my lack of weight gain. i am up 24lbs. the baby was weighing 4lbs 9ozs at my last u/s appt. on the 7th. i am now wondering why they are still going to induce labor at 38 wks. if my boy is at a very average size for this time in gestation. some other moms to be, on this site, have babies that are weighing a pound or two more than my guy. i was told by my dr. the baby is going to gain anywhere from 1/2lb a week to 2 oz. a day. now, if you think about it, this baby is a "parasite" of sorts. meaning he is taking what he needs, when he needs it. perhaps he is taking what he needs, keeping our weight gain at a minimum to none. just my 2 cents...but don't worry! melissa-s -
Thursday, 17 April I gained most of my weight in the 1st and 2nd trimesters too. same with my first baby. The baby does not grow the most in the end. in the end, it only grows about 1/2 an ounce a day. I am only gaining like 1 pound every two weeks. its ok dont be nervous mintea -
Monday, 3 Mar I don't think you should worry...because it won't make things any better. I wouldn't worry about getting steroids, because if your doctor thinks its time to have the baby then they will make sure you get steroids within 24 hours of the birth. Just get through one day at a time, and try not to feel too much anxiety making yourself miserable. And call your doctor and ask them what they plan to do, and any other questions you have ...that will help you from worrying too much. Do you have people around you that are supportive? I hope the best for you and your sweet little one. mintea -
Saturday, 1 Mar Hi I just saw your comment about polyhydramnos. I think the baby is still at 27 weeks of development, but because of the extra fluid your uterus is at 30 weeks of growth. Women who have this usually get pretty big, and your doctor will probably decide when its a good time for the baby to come out. I'm sorry you're having complications. I wish you and you baby the best. fisheagle74 -
Tuesday, 12 Feb I gained weight like that with my 1st pg. I am pg again (week 15) and have only gained 4lbs. Each pregnancy is different!
My daughter is only 10 months now (6 1/2 when I got pg again) so I didn't have much time to lose the extra weight. It is tough to lose when you gain too much! But as long as you have a healthy baby - who cares!! Martina26 -

Thursday, 10 Jan No, I wasn't underweight. I'm 5'3' and weighed around 128. Are you showing a lot? Do you know what you're having yet? Any names picked out? Squive -
