BIRTH STORY!
I was really getting anxious to meet our little angel. I thought for sure I would have her by my dads birthday April 23rd! I was actually hoping to have her on his birthday! I had my membranes swept at my 37 and 38 week appointments, and nothing happened, so I was pretty convinced that I was going 40 + weeks. My girlfriend got me a surprise massage on the morning of the 23rd. I went and it was nice.. The lady said she was going to press pressure points, etc and we'd see if it would work..
My dad kept calling me through out the day to see if anything was happening, and sadly nothing was! My massage was over at 11am, so I went home and emma and I hung around the house all day long. We didn't do much, but we had fun!
My husband got home at about 7pm, we were talking about when we thought I would have elle, and I said.. SHE'S COMING TONIGHT! keep in mind I had no contractions or anything.. I was just hoping!
I was laying on the couch and my hubby was making dinner.. We ate pretty late (9pm).. after a while we ate.. I started bouncing on my exercise ball, then laid down on the couch again. Suddenly, I started having contractions about 10pm. They weren't anything crazy.. I didn't really want to say anything, because I thought if I said something they would go away.. silly I know..
after about a half hour, I text my girlfriend dee and told her not to get too excited, but I was having contractions.. She called me and said, i am coming over and we are going on a walk.. I said.. sounds good!
I was really starting to get some painful contractions.. by the time she got to my house, it was about 11 or so, and I was in pain. I walked up and down our stairs about a zillion times.. We walked up and down the street too. Since my water hadn't broke, I didn't want to go into the hospital until I knew that I was in labor. Joey called all of the family, friends to let them know that I was in labor. the pain wasn't letting up, and i knew that this was it!
I left for the hospital about 1am. I was checked and they said I was at a 7 or 8.. I could not believe it.. I did most of the labor at home without pain meds..
They asked if I wanted an epidural and I said no, but then I had a few more contractions, and I yelled, I change my mind, can I get one please.. luckily it wasn't too late!
I was taken to a room.. at about 1:30. My husband, dad, and Jenny showed up(dee was already with me), and we all hung out in my room and waited for a while. Since the epidural tends to slow things down I didn't know how long we would be waiting. I asked the nurse to check me, and she said well it's only been an hour since you got here, so I will wait.. I said will you please check. and sure enough, I was ready to go.. She said.. UM WOW! i need to get the doctor. I couldn't feel anythng, so they had to tell me when to push.
the doctor got to our room and broke my water. once I had a contraction he told me to push.. I pushed and there was her head. I pushed again and my water splattered all over the nurse and doctor.. it was crazy! I mean drenched them! everyone laughed! I pushed 3 sets for a total of 6 mins and elle was born. my nurse said she had never seen a labor go that fast! My little Elle was 7 lbs 13 oz, 20.5 inches long. she is perfect. She looks exactly like her daddy! The first thing I said when I saw her was, She's my mini Joey!
I was 2 hours and 6 mins too late to make my dads birthday! Oh well though, now they don't have to share their day and we have a fun story to tell :)! My dad still thinks it's pretty neat how it all happened! I just can't believe that it actually happened only 2 hours too late!
I couldn't love her more.. Emma loves being a big sister! We are a happy family of 4 now! LIfe is good!

Joey and I on our special day! Joey and I decided to do things backward. We had emma first, then got married! We got married sept. 1st, and found we were pregnant 2 days after the wedding! We couldn't be happier!

Hey! Long time no talk, I see you had your beautiful girl! Your birth wasn't all too long, that is great!
I had alot of complications the last few months of my pregnancy and was in and out of the hospital. But my beautiful son was born, 2 weeks early and is happy and healthy. My labor, like yours, was fast and most of it done at home. I had him only an hour and twenty minutes after I got to the hospital

Hi, The resting part is getting better. At first I got no rest, now I am getting better. I still fee like I am in the recovery mode. They say that it takes about 6 weeks to recover from the birth and I have not even reached the 3 week mark yet so I am hoping to regain some of my energy back.
