Hey Ya'll,
My Fiance and I are expecting our first baby July 27, 2008! We are so blessed
to be able to bring a new addition into our family. I am currently in school to
become a Neonatal Nurse and my Fiance currently works for an accounting
firm and is in school finishing his Masters, so he can sit for the CPA exam. I look
forward to watching our bellies grow and hope to make some genuine friendships
with other moms experiencing the miracle of child birth!! God Bless!
Nov. 29, 2007:
Pregnancy was confirmed at our first doctors visit (a slight shocker because I
conceived on the birth control pill) 5 weeks 5 days.
Dec. 7th, 2007:
First Ultrasound, and we got to see our "little fuzzy"! Heart rate was 133 bpm.
Doctor says everything looks healthy. She did find an ovulation cyst, but claimed
it would disappear over time.
Jan 7th, 2008:
I believe I felt the baby move for the first time after BD. Felt like a butterflies
in my lower right pelvic area. (Wont know for sure until I feel it move a lot
more and have something to compare it too).
January 14th, 2008:
First OB/GYN consult and prenatal workup. Checked Blood pressure, weight
and did a complete blood panel (including Thyroid). Listened to heart rate it was
166 bmp. Doctor says everything sounds perfect. Doctor said it was medically
possible for me to have felt the baby and that if it was nothing I had felt before
that it probably was the baby. yay! I had a pap smear and breast exam as well
and I am scheduled for a "Nuchal Translucency" ultrasound tomorrow at 3pm.
This test will determine the first signs of any birth defects, so please keep us
in your thoughts and prayers (our family has a history of Down’s Syndrome).
January 16, 2008:
We had our Nuchal Translucency test today! Our little acrobat would not hold still for anyone! It took the doctor almost 20 minutes to get the baby to calm down in order to examine the fluid in the back of the neck. The doctor said that if the baby would have uncrossed its legs and cooperated a little more that he would have been able to determine the sex with a 90% accuracy! Oh well :( we just have to wait about 8 more weeks! Doc. says everything looks perfect and we have to wait about a week for our exact numbers!
January 22, 2008
Results are in!! After the Nuchal test our results came back for a chance of having Downs Syndrome at 1 in greater than 10,000 and our chances for Trisomy 13 or 18 are 1 in greater than 3,500! What a relief!!! We are scheduled for our AFP test on Feb. 7th and our next ultrasound is at 20 weeks to find out the sex!
February 7, 2008
Had my 16 week OB check up have lost 1 pound so I am in the negative, weighing less than what I started with pre-pregnancy. Doctor was concerned and claimed if I didnt start gaining I would have to start taking nutritional supplements, does not matter to me anything to keep my baby healthy! We will see my progress in 4 weeks.
February 23, 2008
Baby gave me its first KICK!
March 5, 2008
Had 20 week OB visit today, and I am up 4 pounds!! She was very pleased! We went to the perinatal specialist for our 20 week ultrasound and the second she put the wand on my belly she said, "Do you want to know what it is?" I could barely get situated on the table before she blurted out "ITS A GIRL!!! She was so cooperative we could hardly believe it! She is perfect, healthy, and we love her so much already! She weighed in at 1lb 1 oz.
April 7th, 2008
Baby Emma is kicking all the time!! My partner loves to watch her make my belly jump, we could sit and watch it for hours! She is a wonderful little sleeper at night and she is most active between 9am and 1 pm. So far I have gained 5 pounds this pregnancy and doctor does not seem to worried about that. I thought for sure we would think something was wrong. I go back the first week of May for the glucose test and by then we will hopefully make an appointment for a 4D ultrasound!
July 2nd, 2008
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA JANE! 5lbs 6 oz, 18 inches long!
Emma decided she could not wait another 4 weeks and made her appearance on July 2nd, 2008. I went in for my routine 36 week appointment and ultrasound to check her weight and the ultrasound tech said i am having a hard time getting a good scan because it looks like your contracting. They proceeded to hook me up to time my contractions (the ones i did not know i was having). After an hour on the monitor the nurse came in to the room to read the results. She paused for a second and said, "wow your contracting strongly every 3-4 minutes" She brought the doctor in to check me and to my surprise I was already 5-6 cm dilated and 100% effaced. She looked at me and said, "Congratulations, your having your baby today!" She then proceeded to say, "Dont pass go, dont collect $200.00, go immediately and check yourself into labor and delivery!" I almost didnt have enough time to collect my thoughts before I was being escorted to my delivery room. Luckily I had my bags packed and ready to go in the car just in case. I labored for about 2 hours before the contractions finally were unbearable and i begged for the epidural! After the epidural, it was heaven and i cant image a childbirth without one. I was actually able to enjoy my labor and delivery! I went from 6 to 10 in a matter 4 hours and was ready to push. I pushed for 30 minutes before my little baby girl arrived sunny side up! She was perfect from head to toe even though she is barely the width of a dollar bill. I cant imagine a happier time in my life and I wish the best to everyone of you about to experience the miracle to childbirth!
12 weeks 4 day, Nuchal Translucency Scan!

12 weeks, 4 day Belly!
