This is my husband and me on our wedding day. It was COLD!!
Birth Story
January 29, 2008
The doctor and I talked about inducing on Tuesday evening (1/29) but she called me Monday morning and said she wanted me to go to the hospital that night because my fluid was low. I was a little nervous but my husband and I finished packing, went grocery shopping, and did last minute preparations. We got to the hospital at 8:30 pm and they started cervidal. I was contracting all night but they weren't strong. In the morning I got another dose of cervidal and around 10am started having stronger contractions so the doctor started pitocin at around 10:45. The pitocin sped things up and I started having severe back labor. I also had to pee really bad but they would only let me use the bed pan which I tried to do but had a lot of difficulty. I was sitting on the bed (that was the most comfortable position) and started peeing as my dad and his girlfriend tried to enter the room. I told them to go away and my husband got me the bed pan, emptied it, and cleaned up the bed - poor thing. At 1:30 I was 4 cm and I asked for the epidural just before the doctor upped the pitocin. The anestegiologist got to my room 45 agonizing minutes later and put the epidural in place. About 10 minutes later I started to feel extreme pain and started to sweat. We called the anestesiologist back and in the meantime I started to throw up. I was really scared and at that point I would have agreed to a c-section under general anestesia. After the epidural was topped off, at about 2:45, I felt so much better. My doctor came in a little after 3pm and said why don't we check you. To my, and the doctor's surprise, the baby was crowning, which was probably all of the pain that I felt after the epidural. I did 3 rounds a pushing and Ellison Grace was born at 3:30pm. I didn't feel a thing during the delivery. My doctor and nurses were great the whole time. The post-partum hospital room sucked because it was shared, small, and SO hot. Luckily I was released the next night at 8pm.August, 30, 2007
So I'm 19 weeks. The first trimester was great. I didn't have any morning sickness, in fact I was hungry all the time. I still don't feel pregnant. I had a little scare on Tuesday when I woke up with abdominal cramping. It started coming every 6 to 7 minutes for 45 minutes. And stupid me left my cell phone at the office so I couldn't call the doctor or my husband. I jumped in a cab to the ER. I looked so scared the cab driver was worried about me and kept asking me if I was OK. Well, the baby is fine - the ultrasound showed a good heartbeat and there was no bleeding or dilation. Turns out I had a stomach virus (apparently something is going around the office), a UTI and a head cold. Triple Whammy. Feeling much better.
I think I've been feeling some sporadic movement, only once every few days. I'm sure it will pick up soon.
Can wait to really start showing so I don't just feel fat!

I can't believe I lost all of my blogs. I'm going to start copying and pasting them into a Word document.
