About Your Pregnancy:

Is this your first pregnancy: Yep!

When did you find out you were pregnant: March 21st.... Good Friday!

Was it planned: Not planned, but not prevented either....

What was your first reaction: I gasped...slapped my hand over my mouth and said "Oh My God!".. then I went back to drying the dishes... in much shock and disbelief. lol

Who was with you when you found out: My husband.. and my 3 beagle babies

Who was the first person you told: My mom

How did your parents react: My mom cried and said "Are you kidding me?" (about 5 times... lol) then she said, "Oh my baby!" ..... my dad chuckled and said "It's about time!"

How far along are you: 10 wks 4 days

What was your first symptoms: I just assumed that I was going to have the most wicked AF in months because my boobs were killing me, they felt heavy.... I was cramping for about 2 weeks, I could not sleep at night, but was falling asleep in the middle of the afternoon, and I was eating the crap out of anything that was a carb or even looked like a carb! HA! A week after no AF... I got a positive test!!

What is your due date: November 20th (My 30th Birthday.. talk about giving me the best birthday ever! I am no longer dreading this day.

Do you know the sex of the baby: Not for another 2 1/2 months or so, but my husband insists it's a boy... go figure, it's gotta be a man thing.

If so, what is it: ????

Have you picked out names?: Yes, mine are good... and my husband's suck! :-)

If so, what are they: I'll let ya know once we know for sure.

How much weight have you gained: Enough to make me start taking my butt to work out at the YMCA again.. I've been lazy all winter long. I'm taking it easy, but it needs to be done.

Do you have stretch marks: Not from the baby.... not yet anyway.

Have you felt the baby move: Nope, still too soon.

Have you heard the heartbeat: Not yet, but I hope to on my next visit.... May 9th.

About The Birth:
Will you keep the baby: Yes... unless it looks like my husband... in which case that little one is going right back in the ol' womb! LOL .... J/K .... Of course I will love my big headed baby no matter what!

Home or hospital birth: Definitely hospital... and let me tell you, their birthing center is freaking' sweet. Heated bathroom floors, whirlpool tub, wooden furniture (not cold/metal looking), flat screen TV, mini fridge, stereo system... and the clincher for my husband... FREE Slurpee machine! :-)~

Natural or medicated birth: I will attempt to go natural, but I make no promises... a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

Who will be in the delivery room with you: My husband and hopefully my mom... if she can make the 500 mile trip up here in time.

Will you breastfeed: As long as I am physically able to... Absolutely.. without a doubt.

Do you think you'll need a c-section: God I hope not... I want to do it the old school way

Will you cry when you hold the baby for the first time: I'd bet money on it.

What's the first thing you might say to him/her: "Hi my baby.... I love you!"

Would you let someone videotape the birth? From the waist up... yes... cause I have no interest in having someone man a "crotch cam!" HA!

Are you excited about the birth, or scared: Both..... but at this point, I think I'm a smidge more scared than excited

Yeah, the baby finally did behave for the test, and it was negative. Yippee! One of the doctors I work with just had a baby girl (his wife did, anyway), and she has Down syndrome. They chose not to do the test, so it was a bit of a shock for them. After hearing about that, I decided I'd want to know if my baby had Down syndrome, or any defect for that matter, just so I could be prepared and not so devastated after the birth.

I've been getting frequent heartburn lately, and it seems to be when I eat any kind of chips, or anything really rich or salty. It sucks!! I have to be careful about what I eat, and that's tough when I'm starving. It's crazy, I'll eat and feel completely full and bloated, but then like an hour or two later, I'm hungry again.

My sister in law just gave me a HUGE box full of her old maternity clothes, and just in time! It was so nice of her, because I bet there's at least $300 worth of clothes in there, and they're pretty fashionable, too. Also, a girl I work with gave me a stack of her old "fat scrubs" for when I grow out of mine. They're kind of worn looking, but I don't think I'll be too picky when I can't fit into anything else!

I went to our local maternity store on the weekend and didn't pick anything up. I know my ass will be sooo much bigger soon and my tummy will pop right out in the near future so it's a little premature. I did pull out a pair of maternity jeans from last pregnancy and put those to good use. It felt nice to have jeans on that are not cutting into my tummy. Might be worth a trip to the m.store for you too if your getting bummed by all those sweats. As for your look: remember your pregnant so women everywhere are thinking your beautiful and wishing they were you!! You don't need to do anything extra, I'm sure your glowing pregnancy! If you don't feel it you will soon! Second trimester is the best ever!!

Oh my goodness you're HILLARIOUUUUUUSSS!!!! I love it! LMFAO!!!!!
Can't really help you there mommy; we have different views and behaviors. I'm so controversial and opinionated, so whatever I say goes in my household/life. I know you both have to be happy with a decision, but the one that counts the most would be mine in my case – LOL! I know that sounds harsh, but that's just the type of gal that I am :D
Your step-child? LOL! You're wonderful Erica. Don't feel bad at all. You know, there are some kids whom are plain ugly, but it's such a huge taboo to say so (not a nice thing to do either, but it's between "US", so you're secret is safe with me – LOL!!!!!)
I don't want to have vaginal birth. I'm going for a C-Section. Everyone in my life is telling me to go natural, but I refuse to go through such harsh trauma, when I can just go in, get cut, get baby, recover and go home. God bless all women who are powerful enough to go through natural, but I'm just a pure coward; I can't and don't want to, so thoughts about pushing, or pain are not in my list of things to worry about at the end of this journey. The biggest worries I have right now are birth defects, abnormalities, etc. I pray SO hard for a healthy baby it hurts.
Therefore, praying for healthy beautiful little babies goes for the both of us.
In the meantime, let's keep up the good work mommy!
I'm glad we're i-am-pregnant.com buddies :D
Keep in touch :)

Well, I am still waiting to get the ultrasound completed. When I went back to the clinic the other day, they said the US tech wasn't there, so I had to reschedule, again. So tomorrow morning I'm going back to get the Down Syndrome test, and baby better cooperate, because they said for some reason they need to do that test by 13weeks and 6days, and that's exactly where I'll be at tomorrow. The pressure is on for the little one! : )
Sounds like you had quite a Mother's Day! Mine was nice, too, although I had to work. We went to my parents house for brunch, and then all of us mommies (or mommies to be) went out and got pedicures. It was so relaxing! My parents gave me a cute mother's day card and a pink marker board to use in my new house. Apparently, my mother in law also got me a present but I haven't seen her yet, so I'll get it next time me visit.

I'm doing pretty well! Feeling less sick and a bit more energetic, but still pretty tired. And, my belly has been kind of bugging me lately; feeling REALLY bloated and kind of sensitive when I eat. It's getting to the breaking point with my pants! I need to go shopping this week for sure! I think I may have felt a couple of kicks in the past week, but I'm not sure if it's really kicks, or just gas or something. I can't wait to feel a definite kick!

Your so funny!! You have the right attitude for the task at hand! I can tell you are going to have so much fun being pregnant and with your new baby! Happy shopping, but good luck finding the time to do your hair perfect! At least at the begining with my newborns I looked like I got hit by a truck!!

Don't feel like a heffer yet; save that for when the excuse is gone, hee hee. I was happy when I found out I was pregnant and I could enjoy my tummy this summer b/c I have a reason for it to be big on the beach! I even bought a bikini (why not). Before I was pregnant I was all concerned how the heck I was going to tone that area before summer hit full force. After your baby is born your kinda a flabby mess for a while, but don't worry it can be fixed. The right jogger stroller helps. I hear yah about the jean-ban. Thank God for Loulou Lemon. You probably don't have Loulou Lemon where you are. Almost time to hit the maternity store! Are you obviously showing yet?

bellababybump - Saturday, 10 May
I know what you mean about being hungry all the time! I woke up twice in the middle of the night to snack! I never do that! I dream about food all the time too! its crazy all the changes you go through huh?

weenie - Friday, 9 May
So, only 13 weeks, and the baby is being difficult already! They were trying to test the baby for Down Syndrome at the ultrasound on Tuesday, and he was doing a headstand and hiccuping the whole time, so they weren't able to do it. I went back yesterday to try it again, and the baby was hiccuping again and still in an awkward position I guess, so I have to go back a third time on Monday to do this test. Thankfully, they only charge you for one ultrasound if that happens, so it's no big deal. It was really cute when he was hiccuping, though, and the ultrasound they did was SO much clearer than the one I tried on my own. It was Eric's first time seeing the baby move, so he was smiling ear to ear!
Let me know how your appt went today!

Hey! It's good to read from you :D
Definitely, she's your mom and mommies should always be number one (we should know very soon ;) ;))
Your hubby loves you and he'll definitely let you have your way; hence the fact that we always find a way, with our "charm". You'll see....everything's going to be perrrrfect!
I'm really excited about everything. Mostly nervous, but I know everything is going to be okay.
You're utterly gorgeous; imagine what the baby'll look like?? :D
Any names for the baby, if it's a boy, or girl?
