MY BIRTH STORY

I went to work 11-13-2007 and it was a typical day. I had been spotting occasionally but the doctor always told me that it was normal and if I have sex that I would spot. I told the doctor, "that aint happening in my house!" LOL! At about 1030 I started to have cramps but they were continuous and sometimes they would get worse. I walked around as much as possible. Well, I decided to work overtime so I didn't get off until 545 at night. I called Steve and told him that I thought I was having contractions but I wasn't sure. I stopped by Sonic to get something to drink because the nurses at L&D told me to drink plenty of fluids, go home and take a shower to ease the discomfort, then lay on my left side for 2 hours to see if the cramping stopped. I live an hour and a half from the hospital. I went home and waited.

Steve wanted me to go to the hospital right away but I am stubborn and I wanted to stay home as long as i could. At about 930, after 3 showers and about a gallon of water later I couldn't stand it anymore. I woke Steve up and asked him if he could take me to the hospital. I didn't really have everything together because I wasn't due until the 30th so I rushed and packed everything I could think of. We left my house at 1000 and I tried to time my contractions on the way. My contractions were not regular at all. They varied from 1 1/2 minutes to 4 minutes apart.

We got to the hospital at 1130 and the nurse from L&D came and got me. I got changed into my buttless gown and was told to lay on the delivery table so she could check me. I was 6 cm and 80-90% effaced. At 130 am I decided to ask for some stadol. It worked for about 2 contractions. Steve saw me rolling around in pain at about 200 and begged the nurse to get me an epidural, yes he decided for me to have an epidural. I kept on telling him, "but Im scared" The doctor came in and said I was 9 cm. I must of looked really pitiful because he gave it to me. Getting the epidural through contractions was tough! Thank goodness the epidural worked and I was able to relax. The doc came a bit later, check me again and said, "yup, you're ready. Do you know what that means?" I said "push?" and he nodded. I looked like puss in boots with his big eyes because I was so nervous. Steve grabbed one leg, a nurse grabbed the other and they told me to push as hard as I could and hold it for as long as I could whenever I had a contraction. 3 pushes later Cody Ray was born. I didn't feel much because of the epidural, but I screamed anyway. (bonnie, if you're reading this, yes you scream anyway! lol) He was 7 lb 15 oz and was 20 inches long born 11-14-2007 at exactly 256 am.

He is soooo beautiful and such a blessing in my life. He will be a month old tomorrow. Jeez how time flies.

12-27-2007 update

I took Cody in for his circumcision on Friday, 12-21. It was horrible, I just sat in the other room and cried because Cody was screaming. I felt soooo bad, but hey, I believe it should be done so he'll thank me for it when he's older. hopefully. He weighed 9lb 10 oz and is now 21.25 inches long. He started smiling 12-22. :)

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

PRETTIEST MOM
Once you have been hit, you have to hit 5 pretty Moms.
If you get hit again, You will know you are REALLY pretty!
So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are
pretty!
Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''

Hey! I'm using fenugreek right now becuase i was about to give up breastfeeding due to lack of supply. After the first day of taking it, I noticed I was definatly supplying more milk. My babysitter still has to supplement with formula, but at least shes getting SOME of my milk. The thing I like about fenugreek is that I haven't had any side affects other then my pee smelling like maple...but whats wrong with that right?lol. Pills are a lil big but its not so bad. If you got any questions or you need a support system..I'm here!
