Introducing: Aniya Nicole Glover

One Month Update

Photobucket

She is very alert and nosey. When she falls asleep, she keeps one eye open. I guess she feels like she will miss something. She keeps me up at night because she likes to fight her sleep by crying. Hopefully this will pass so we can both get some sleep. Motherhood is challenging and tiresome but I am enjoying every minute.

Two Month Update

Photobucket

She is growing right before my eyes. She is smiling more and starting to make little noises. She is sleeping longer at night (Thank God) and a little less fussy. She is starting to enjoy car rides. I think we are starting to understand each other but she still has the upper hand. It's Aniyah's way or no way. I love her so much and I love being a mother to my little princess.

Pregnancy Journal

My name is Shalethia. I am 28 years old and expecting my 1st baby in 2008. My husband and I are very excited to meet our new arrival in July. I look forward to meeting and speaking to moms and moms-to-be as we embark on this wonderful journey called pregnancy and motherhood . May God richly bless you and your family in the new year and years to come. Have a Wonderful Day! and Congratulations on your little angel that was sent from above! I wish you all the best!

Wednesday, Dec 26th

I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and I am enjoying this experience. I haven't had any morning sickness (only two occasions where I vomited for eating something that didn't agree with my stomach). I can pretty much eat anything and I don't have any crazings. I just pray the rest of my pregnancy is smooth sailing. I have gained 4-5 pounds. Is this good or bad (especially this early in my pregnancy). I had to buy a larger size in my clothing and my stomach isn't big. I don't know what to expect during this pregnancy but I know that I can rest in God knowing he will take care of me and allow me to have a wonderful pregnancy. I can't wait until I start showing and feel the first kick. I go back to the doctor on Jan.18th to have an ultrasound to check how far along I am because at my first appt. last week the doctor said that my uterus was too small to be 9 weeks. I will keep you posted.

Inspirational Bible Verses

Psalm 22:10
From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God

Psalm 139:13-18
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

Isaiah 49:1
Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth He has made mention of my name

John 16:21
A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.

Acts 2:38-39
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."

Galatians 1:15
But when He had set me apart before I was born...and had called me through His grace.

3 John 1:4
I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth.

Sunday, December 30

I have made 11 weeks (praise God for his many blessings)!! I am feeling fanastic besides a little gas ( I think my lactose pill didn't kick in before I ate that bowl of fruit loops). But anyway, hope everyone's day is going well. I think I am going to relax on this beautiful and rainy Sunday afternoon before I cook in a few hours. Take care and God Bless!!

Monday, January 28

I am currently 15 weeks. My journey so far has been wonderful and amazing. The baby is growing and I can't wait for the baby bump:) I had my 1st ultrasound on Jan. 18th. It was amazing to see the baby. The baby was laying on its back just enjoying the moment. The tech was wonderful. We were able to get four different images of the baby. The tech said everything looked good and the baby weighs 3oz.. I am patiently awaiting my 2nd ultrasound to find out if the dream my sister and I had will come true. We both dreamed on two separate occasions that I was having a boy and he had my husband's features. Whatever God blesses me with as long as its healthy, happy, and beautiful, I will be eternally graceful. May your day be filled with all the love, joy, and peace of God through Jesus. Until next time, Be blessed and May God continue to shine his face upon you.

Wednesday Feb. 20

I am currently 18 weeks and 3 days. I have been under the weather since the weekend. I went to the doctor and he decided to do a flu swab to make sure I didn't have the flu. He held the swab in my right nostril for 10 sec. When he got to 10, he decided to hold it in for a little longer. He was lucky that I was not feeling well because the swab was very uncomfortable. Thank God I didn't have the flu but was advised that I had a "cold virus", so I was placed on bedrest for a couple of days. The nurse at my ob office stated that I could take plain robitussin to clear the chest congestion and drink plenty of fluids. Thank God this doesn't have any affect on the baby. This weather in Georgia is crazy. Hot one day then cold the next. I will be moving this weekend so I will be packing a little bit at a time. I will try not to overdo it. The baby is doing fine. I can feel a little more movement but not an official kick yet. I will schedule my next ob appt. the 2nd week of March to confirm what I already know "It's a boy". Until next time, Remember: "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it"(Psalm 118:24) Rest in God through Jesus because he has your best interest at heart. Be blessed and Have a Wonderful Day!!

Tuesday, March 25

I am 23 weeks and 2 days and I have been very exhausted lately. With school and clinical rotation, all I want to do is sleep when I get home. The baby is very active and is making his/her presence known. On March 11th, I had my 3d/4d ultrasound and it was amazing. I wish they would have told me to wait a few weeks so that the features were more pronounced. So if anyone is thinking about getting a 3d/4d ultrasound wait until you are between 26-32 weeks for the best images. The tech showed my husband and I three lines, which indicates that I am having a girl. She kept placing the pointer at the genital area because I wasn't convinced. I have another ultrasound on the 15th of April and hopefully the legs will be open wide enough to give us a clear indication of the gender. No matter what I am having, I am truly and forever grateful that God has blessed me with the ability to bring life in this world. I love my baby and I pray that I have a healthy, beautiful and happy baby boy or girl. Until next time, Remember: God shall supply all of your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19)

Tuesday, May 6

Hello Ladies, I haven't updated in a while( I am currently in my 7th month). I have to give a 6 month update. I had my gloucose test and can I say "delicious". The nurse gave me a fruit punch flavored one and I dranked it in less than 2 minutes. My glucose test came back good and everything is going well. I had another ultrasound but I am still uncertain. Since I can feel the baby in my ribs "uncomfortable", the baby has changed positions. Hopefully this is an indication that the baby's legs are open or in a different position. I will have my last gender unltrasound on Tuesday. I am so excited. I can't wait to start shopping. Until Tuesday, Be Blessed and Have a Wonderful Week!!!

Tuesday, May 13th

Well Ladies, It's official " It's A Girl". I am so excited. There is no more confusion or uncertainty. She has grown so much. I will post pictures as soon as I can. All I have to say is " Time To Shop". Take care and Have a Blessed and Wonderful Day!!!

Sunday, June 22nd

Today I have made 9 months but I must give an 8 month update. I am feeling a lot of pressure, so time is getting near. Time seems to be flying by now and I am getting excited to finally meet my little princess on that very special day. The appointments are going great, her heartbeat is strong and I have started going to the doctor every week. School is getting quite challenging but I am praying that God gives me the strength and endurance to make it till the end. Until next time remember: " Cast your cares on the Lord and he will give you rest". Be blessed and Have a Wonderful Week!!

Wednesday, July 16th

I am 39 weeks and 3 days. I went to the doctor yesterday and found out I haven't dialated. My cervix is still closed. I was able to get an ultrasound and the tech stated Aniya weighs 6 pounds and 8 oz. The doctor stated if nothing changes by next Tuesday, I will be induced on Sunday the 27th. I don't know what to do. She told me if my cervix doesn't dialate during the induction, I would have a c-section. I don't want to get cut unless medically necessary. I don't know what to do. I am confused and don't know which direction to take. I will cast my cares on the Lord and let him take care of the situation. I know it's all in his hands and everything will go well. I am looking forward to a fast vaginal delivery and recovery. Pray for me and any advice would help!!!

Jadedpoet - Thursday, 21 August
I tried breast feeding hard core for the first 10 days. :-( She wouldn't sleep I even had a nurse once state I may not have enough colostrum and may have to supplement. Boy I should have never listened to her, my supply then never was enough and she was never full even after my letdown happened and she would never sleep. I finally gave in and gave her formula exclusively, it made me very upset for days.

Military-wifey - Thursday, 21 August
In daycare girl! Alanah is very much enjoying Mya and she's a good lil helper. Just have to watch her sometimes cause she can be a lil ruff. Yes, Mya's been sleeping thru the nite since she was about 3wks and even before then she'd wake up every 4hrs. She is on Enfamil Gentlease, its for fussing and gas. And sometimes she's fussy b/c she is gassy......and my my does she have some strong gas! I give her Mylicon about every 2hrs when she's awake. I bathe her w/ lavender bath wash and rub her down, w/ lavender lotion.........give her a little cereal in her bottle and she is out from 9 - 6 in the morn!

brownsugar - Thursday, 21 August
congrats to u on your beautiful baby she is so cute
love the slide show

Military-wifey - Thursday, 21 August
Keep using the saline drops and the bulb but since it is your baby, and I wouldn't do this for anybody else's baby all I can do is tell them......try blowing in her mouth making sure you cover her whole mouth and that will blow her nose......it gets nasty which is why I say I wouldn't do that to anyone else's but my own. If you try it, don't do it too often cause it can hurt there ears. Only do it when she is just absoultely miserable. Then use Vicks babyrub under her nose and use a humidfier at nite.

Military-wifey - Thursday, 21 August
We are good! Thanks for asking.........how are you enjoying your lil chubby cheeks?

soulja girl - Thursday, 21 August
Hi, how are you? She is too pretty! I am new to this website, but I find it very helpful & I am ttc & I know having good patience is the key to success. I hope all is well with you.

WaitingOnGod - Thursday, 21 August
Hello my beautiful and blessed friend. How are you and your little princess doing? I'm doing good today. My period decided to show up on yesterday with vengeance. I was heartbroken at first even before it showed because I knew it would happen. It's strange but every month before it shows, I will have a dream about it showing. The next day it will come down and that is really weird. I don't know if that is God's way of letting me know that I'm more in tune with my body than I think or what.
I've been spending the majority of my time with God; reading his word, praying, and in praise and worship
I'm really trying not to focus on getting pregnant just to let it happen when God is ready for it to happen. I had been wanting to step away from this site but there are so many wonderful ladies on here and I can't just walk away from them. They are always looking for God to speak a word to them through me that speaks to the situation that they are facing. . That is the reason why I'm still on here.. Well, I need to get my day started. I will check in later. Take care.

fabforty - Thursday, 21 August
By the way, my recovery was remarkable, thank you Jesus! I was healing and moving about without any issues within a week and has minimal pain with the c- section the day after. God is good girl!

fabforty - Thursday, 21 August
Thanks! I'm only doing formula and I'm glad I did that. My milk never fully came in and he is up to 4 oz every three hours. he's a little piglet :) and now weighs 10.4 lbs!

olga777 - Thursday, 21 August
Hi I always pumped and stopped at about 2 and a half months because my milk started to go away, the pumping was a tourture and I decided to stop... baby is formula fed since she was about 2 and a half months old and is 6 months old and never was sick :) I hope she will stay so healthy and happy for always hehe :)

HaveFaith050108 - Thursday, 21 August
Yeah girl. Just make sure she knows how to go back and forth from the bottle nipple to the breast. I used avent bottles since they were wider than most so she doesn't have to open her mouth any differently going back and forth to limit the confusion and they worked fine for her. Also, when I started supplementing with formula I noticed that the regular similac advance milk based formula was too heavy for her little tummy. Girl, she vomitted it up so quick. I think its because the breastmilk is soo thin and the formula is much thicker, it was just too much for her. So I switched to the similac isomil soy based and on the can it says its easier to digest and she was able to keep it down. Girl, she gulps that stuff down. So since she's on formula 100% now, that's what she drinks. aawww I'm sorry to hear that ms. aniya is sick. Kam hasn't been sick girl so I'm no help in that department. Sorry! I hope she feels better. I'm sure some infant tylenol will help some. You can always just call your pediatricians office and give the nurse her symptoms and see what she recommends. She prob won't be able to recommend much without an exam but she can recommend something based on the symptoms. Especially since there are only a handful of things that infants can take anyways. Then, if her suggestions don't work, then I would probably take her in. But I would start off with a phone call. Well, hopefully that helps girl. Give Aniya a Huge Kiss from me and Kam.... Take Care girl!

caitenni - Thursday, 21 August
She is 17 lbs 27 inches! :)So she is in the 80% for weight and 95% on height. Isn't motherhood awesome even with all its unknowns? :)It's like you kinda get worn out and the next thing you know your precious does something and it just blows you away. Hehehe.

Jadedpoet - Thursday, 21 August
LOL but it seems to have worked LMAO!! My cousin told me about it after she gave birth to her second son and her stomach is as flat as a board so I had to hop on that train. I think by the third day or fourth day it was significantly smaller haha. I waited a week to use it since it was hard to move around from the C-section. :-(

I do remember seeing those belts in babies r us and Burlington's coat factory baby depot haha. I had saran wrap on my mind then. LOL

It now keeps rolling upward due to the oil I put on my belly so I need something that will stay.

renaegurl - Thursday, 21 August
 She is so cute.

renaegurl - Thursday, 21 August
We are doing great. I am so lazy I never really come in here and check my messages. But how are u guys.

mommychantz - Thursday, 21 August
I don't know the frustration with pumping but i'm sure I will if i decide to start. Maybe you could introduce the formula to her and use it when you need to leave or want someone else to feed, i guess night time feedings and in the morning you could do breast. Breast is the BEST! lol...but i mean formula does just as well. I'm not the greatest person to talk to this about, cuz i i'll do is whip out the boob. lol.. Thank you...he is funny lil boy already. It took me the first month to really get the idea that i was a mother, and i mean he is changing everyday so there is always something new to adjust too, but i feel good now, got my routine going and all that. How is everything going for you?

Jadedpoet - Thursday, 21 August
I got the dissolving stitches, I actually used saran wrap and wrapped it around my belly LOL that shrunk me down quite a bit. Where can I buy the postpartum support belt?
Yes at 6 weeks I will be a work out machine LOL

Jadedpoet - Thursday, 21 August
Extremely tired LOL. Thank you btw!!
I know I told you Congrats on your beautiful little one as well!!

I'm obsessing over getting rid of this bit of pouch I have left I know I gave birth just 13 days ago and by C-section but I'm losing my mind LOL.
I know i'm obsessed over getting sleep as well but when I don't get it I obsess over that in the wee hours of the night LOL.

Hey I guess I need to concentrate on achieving something to keep my sleepless sanity!!
