Hello To All,

My name is Shalethia. I am 28 years old and expecting my 1st baby in 2008. My husband and I are very excited to meet our new arrival in July. I look forward to meeting and speaking to moms and moms-to-be as we embark on this wonderful journey called pregnancy and motherhood . May God richly bless you and your family in the new year and years to come. Have a Wonderful Day! and Congratulations on your little angel that was sent from above! I wish you all the best!

Wednesday, Dec 26th

I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and I am enjoying this experience. I haven't had any morning sickness (only two occasions where I vomited for eating something that didn't agree with my stomach). I can pretty much eat anything and I don't have any crazings. I just pray the rest of my pregnancy is smooth sailing. I have gained 4-5 pounds. Is this good or bad (especially this early in my pregnancy). I had to buy a larger size in my clothing and my stomach isn't big. I don't know what to expect during this pregnancy but I know that I can rest in God knowing he will take care of me and allow me to have a wonderful pregnancy. I can't wait until I start showing and feel the first kick. I go back to the doctor on Jan.18th to have an ultrasound to check how far along I am because at my first appt. last week the doctor said that my uterus was too small to be 9 weeks. I will keep you posted.

Inspirational Bible Verses

Psalm 22:10
From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God

Psalm 139:13-18
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

Isaiah 49:1
Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth He has made mention of my name

John 16:21
A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.

Acts 2:38-39
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."

Galatians 1:15
But when He had set me apart before I was born...and had called me through His grace.

3 John 1:4
I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth.

Sunday, December 30

I have made 11 weeks (praise God for his many blessings)!! I am feeling fanastic besides a little gas ( I think my lactose pill didn't kick in before I ate that bowl of fruit loops). But anyway, hope everyone's day is going well. I think I am going to relax on this beautiful and rainy Sunday afternoon before I cook in a few hours. Take care and God Bless!!

Monday, January 28

I am currently 15 weeks. My journey so far has been wonderful and amazing. The baby is growing and I can't wait for the baby bump:) I had my 1st ultrasound on Jan. 18th. It was amazing to see the baby. The baby was laying on its back just enjoying the moment. The tech was wonderful. We were able to get four different images of the baby. The tech said everything looked good and the baby weighs 3oz.. I am patiently awaiting my 2nd ultrasound to find out if the dream my sister and I had will come true. We both dreamed on two separate occasions that I was having a boy and he had my husband's features. Whatever God blesses me with as long as its healthy, happy, and beautiful, I will be eternally graceful. May your day be filled with all the love, joy, and peace of God through Jesus. Until next time, Be blessed and May God continue to shine his face upon you.

Wednesday Feb. 20

I am currently 18 weeks and 3 days. I have been under the weather since the weekend. I went to the doctor and he decided to do a flu swab to make sure I didn't have the flu. He held the swab in my right nostril for 10 sec. When he got to 10, he decided to hold it in for a little longer. He was lucky that I was not feeling well because the swab was very uncomfortable. Thank God I didn't have the flu but was advised that I had a "cold virus", so I was placed on bedrest for a couple of days. The nurse at my ob office stated that I could take plain robitussin to clear the chest congestion and drink plenty of fluids. Thank God this doesn't have any affect on the baby. This weather in Georgia is crazy. Hot one day then cold the next. I will be moving this weekend so I will be packing a little bit at a time. I will try not to overdo it. The baby is doing fine. I can feel a little more movement but not an official kick yet. I will schedule my next ob appt. the 2nd week of March to confirm what I already know "It's a boy". Until next time, Remember: "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it"(Psalm 118:24) Rest in God through Jesus because he has your best interest at heart. Be blessed and Have a Wonderful Day!!

Tuesday, March 25

I am 23 weeks and 2 days and I have been very exhausted lately. With school and clinical rotation, all I want to do is sleep when I get home. The baby is very active and is making his/her presence known. On March 11th, I had my 3d/4d ultrasound and it was amazing. I wish they would have told me to wait a few weeks so that the features were more pronounced. So if anyone is thinking about getting a 3d/4d ultrasound wait until you are between 26-32 weeks for the best images. The tech showed my husband and I three lines, which indicates that I am having a girl. She kept placing the pointer at the genital area because I wasn't convinced. I have another ultrasound on the 15th of April and hopefully the legs will be open wide enough to give us a clear indication of the gender. No matter what I am having, I am truly and forever grateful that God has blessed me with the ability to bring life in this world. I love my baby and I pray that I have a healthy, beautiful and happy baby boy or girl. Until next time, Remember: God shall supply all of your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19)

Tuesday, May 6

Hello Ladies, I haven't updated in a while( I am currently in my 7th month). I have to give a 6 month update. I had my gloucose test and can I say "delicious". The nurse gave me a fruit punch flavored one and I dranked it in less than 2 minutes. My glucose test came back good and everything is going well. I had another ultrasound but I am still uncertain. Since I can feel the baby in my ribs "uncomfortable", the baby has changed positions. Hopefully this is an indication that the baby's legs are open or in a different position. I will have my last gender unltrasound on Tuesday. I am so excited. I can't wait to start shopping. Until Tuesday, Be Blessed and Have a Wonderful Week!!!

Tuesday, May 13th

Well Ladies, It's official " It's A Girl". I am so excited. There is no more confusion or uncertainty. She has grown so much. I will post pictures as soon as I can. All I have to say is " Time To Shop". Take care and Have a Blessed and Wonderful Day!!!

Sunday, June 22nd

Today I have made 9 months but I must give an 8 month update. I am feeling a lot of pressure, so time is getting near. Time seems to be flying by now and I am getting excited to finally meet my little princess on that very special day. The appointments are going great, her heartbeat is strong and I have started going to the doctor every week. School is getting quite challenging but I am praying that God gives me the strength and endurance to make it till the end. Until next time remember: " Cast your cares on the Lord and he will give you rest". Be blessed and Have a Wonderful Week!!

Wednesday, July 16th

I am 39 weeks and 3 days. I went to the doctor yesterday and found out I haven't dialated. My cervix is still closed. I was able to get an ultrasound and the tech stated Aniya weighs 6 pounds and 8 oz. The doctor stated if nothing changes by next Tuesday, I will be induced on Sunday the 27th. I don't know what to do. She told me if my cervix doesn't dialate during the induction, I would have a c-section. I don't want to get cut unless medically necessary. I don't know what to do. I am confused and don't know which direction to take. I will cast my cares on the Lord and let him take care of the situation. I know it's all in his hands and everything will go well. I am looking forward to a fast vaginal delivery and recovery. Pray for me and any advice would help!!!

Well you are lucky! I have tried everything from walking miles bouncing on a ball to even having sex 2-3x a day.. Nothing! I just dont think he wants to come out anytime soon. As of last week they said he is about 8 lbs. What about yours?

newmommy0723 - Saturday, 19 July
Hey, nope not dialated at all, my due date is wed the 23rd, she said If I dont go into labor by then they will set me up to be induced. Which I really didnt want to dom but to be honest I dont think I can take much more I am miserable. How are u feeling?

HaveFaith050108 - Saturday, 19 July
Nope, no side effects from the epidural. Girl, that epidural is life's best gift to a pregnant woman. After I got it, I couldn't feel anything from the top of my waist, down to my toes girl! It was sooo wonderful. I could still feel the pressure when it was time to push, but I couldn't feel the pain...You'll understand what I'm talking about when the time comes. Get it girl, that epidural was a life saver. Girl, I was about to pass out in my chair when I read that coming to america "queen to be" comment - LMAO! Her auntie bought her that calling it her first tierra (sp?) and it was just too cute and too funny - LOL! I'm gonna be a SAHM for a little longer girl. Before I had her, I'd planned to stay home for at least 4 months, but now, I can't imagine putting her in daycare. I just feel like noone can take care of her better than I can. I'm just happy that I don't have many bills girl that I can afford to stay home right now. then I have a couple of other things in the works to try to make some money from home. The only bad thing about not working is having all of the extra money that I want to buy what I want when I want it. Robert helps, but its hard for him to pay all of the house bills, his personal bills, my personal bills, groceries, and keep up my lifestyle as well - LOL! We'll be fine girl. He doesn't want her to go to daycare right now either girl...I'm sure we'll be fine! Anyways, I'm ready to meet little lady girl. She's gonna be beautiful! Get that rest now! w/b when you can....Courtney xoxo

sassybuttaphly - Saturday, 19 July

fabforty - Saturday, 19 July
Hi There! Its funny because I kept thinking early on that he would come early due to my fibroids but he has stayed put thank you Jesus! Now that we are almost there, I'm just getting anxious! Good luck to you! Are you getting excited?

Ebony07 - Saturday, 19 July
thanks! and no, that's another problem. i'm the same weight which is 120lbs. my doc told me that if i dont gain weight the baby will be premature :-(

Jadedpoet - Saturday, 19 July
Oh I nearly forgot you asked me what I got for the baby sorry haha. I have ...everything I believe all i'm missing is the baby haha.
Oh no girl I got out like in '05 , I'm way past done. If I were military I would still have to work, you have the option of getting out once pregnant but if you choose to stay in you still work of course I think until your 38 or 39 weeks. I don't even know how much time they give you off for maternity leave.
Hmm my nope don't think I have pelvic pressure, it just hurts sooo bad when she gets on my bladder!! I've mainly been kind of dizzy more lately like while walking as well, my stomach will have a weird feeling to it that's not painful but oddly uncomfortable. I guess some describe it like pins and needles and when that happens I know i'm about to get dizzy.

I do get really uncomfortable when I wake up and I have to pee even though its a small bit. Hmm sometimes it does leave me with some pressure. Hope you feel better!!

Jadedpoet - Saturday, 19 July
I will pray for you!! I know how badly I want my own to come naturally on her own and healthy, its why I do squats every night haha. I have a dilemma though my hubby is military (so we have to work with what leave , days off, he can take) and he will be down on the 28th the day before I'm 37 weeks and he will leave by the 10th. I so pray she comes while he is here otherwise he won't see her MAYBE until Thanksgiving, it not then ..then March of next year. :-( I hate having to stress her and my body out like this but its kind of crucial. The funny part is that i'm terrified of motherhood but I know because of this situation i'm more eager for her to arrive haha.

BTW I love the Say Yes song on your page, I don't really listen to gospel music but certain songs make me stop and listen.

tashak - Friday, 18 July
Just checking on you to see if you had your lil one yet.

renaegurl - Friday, 18 July
I am so sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I have been so busy lately with her. But keep me posted. I will be prayng for you.

Jadedpoet - Friday, 18 July
I'm doing very well, I'm a bit shocked at the amount of energy I have and how my aches aren't really severe. (knock on wood) LOL. I think its all these squats I do at night. :-)
I'm sooo tired of being pregnant though its not funny LOL. I see you are right about to hit 40 weeks congrats mama's!! Any day and you get to hold your little one!!

I'm not even full term yet. (sigh) 2 weeks LOL
Enough about my complaints, how are you feeling.

Ebony07 - Friday, 18 July
Hey!! I guess Aniya is a popular name. If I have a girl, it will be spelled with an "h" on the end. But I still throw up from time to time. It's not as bad as it use to be tho. But, thanks I hope ur delivery goes well! Goodluck!

HaveFaith050108 - Thursday, 17 July
I was sooo tired of being pregnant girl, I was happy to be induced. I wasn't worried about the meds or anything because I know that millions of women get induced and their babies turn out fine. Well, you have to have her one way or another. You don't want to have her vaginally or by c-section...ya gotta pick one - LOL! I'm not sure why the doctor says that inductions can sometimes cause c-sections. To my knowledge, the doctor will give you pitocin (the med that starts your labor) and then shortly after, come in a break your water and then there's no turning back girl. The only way I can see you getting a c-section after that is if you've pushed and pushed and pushed and the baby still isn't coming down and is in distress. Other than that, there is no reason to perform surgery....especially for a first pregnancy. Its not like you have a history of previous c-sections.

I know it feels scary now, but women have been having babies for decades girl. We were born with an inner strenth to handle this and you are no different girl. You can do this! After its all over, you'll be soo happy to have that baby girl, the labor will be the last thing on your mind - LOL! Thanks for the compliments girl. She is a mess girl - sometimes I just look at her and shake my head. She has definitely exceeded all of my expectations! No, I'm not breastfeeding anymore. I stopped at 6 weeks. I knew going into it, that I wanted her to get the benefits of the breastmilk (colostrum) and after that I would switch to formula. It had nothing to do with her latching on or anything, it was more of a personal choice.

I'll say a quick prayer for you that she doesn't come before Sunday - LOL! But on everything else, you'll be fine girl - I promise! I'm actually going to see the color purple in Atlanta on 7/28. Soooooo excited! Keep me posted and I'll talk to ya soon! Courtney xoxo

Military-wifey - Thursday, 17 July
I'm good. Hubby was here last month. He won't be back until Dec. Not worried though. He talks to both girls on the phone, Little Mya knows his voice, she just laughs when the phone is up to her ear. Its all good over here. I know its hot, so you stay cool during your last days. I can't imagine how uncomfortable being preggo around this time must feel.

Daphanie1 - Thursday, 17 July
Hey mama! The time is almost here!! Well I just read your entry and I thought that I should tell my point of view from my experience. I am one the of mothers that had to get a c-section. I went through my whole pregnancy and all of my appointments without even hearing my dr say anything about the possibility of getting one. I, of course, already knew that the situation could present itself and that it could happen to me, but never did I think that it ACTUALLY would! I was induced and in labor for over 12 hrs. I reached 8 cm and it just stopped. My temp started to rise my baby was extremely tired and I was terrified! My nurse came in and told me "I know you don't want to hear this, but we're going to have to do a c-section." OMG, my heart dropped and the tears came streaming out of my eyes. I just could not stop crying. I prayed and I prayed and I prayed. My daddy called me and he told me that GOD was not going to let anything happen to me or my child and that I had to do it since I wasn't making any progress. It was like GOD was answering my prayers through my daddy. It didn't completely eliminate my fear but it did give me courage. I say all of that to say this, you have GOD on your side, HE will keep you and Aniyah safe throughout the labor and delivery whether it's vaginal or c-section, HE will be there at all times protecting y'all. You still have some time and you never know HE may work things out to where you suddenly start to dilate on your own before the 27th. Just stay prayerful and I will continue to pray for you as well and it will all work out for y'all! I can't wait to see pics!! I know she's already gorgeous!!

mrsbelindatx - Thursday, 17 July
nope they just induced me and we went from there

WaitingOnGod - Thursday, 17 July
Hey lady. My daughter and I just took that petition before God faithfully interceding on yours and your baby's behalf. God bless you and keep us updated. Take care.

Military-wifey - Thursday, 17 July
It will be over for you soon. I have another recovery to recover from. I had a tubal this morning. I'm doing pretty good, just a little sore. I'm breast and bottle feeding. Well good luck mommy!! Your looking cute in the pic!

HaveFaith050108 - Thursday, 17 July
