Hey!
OMG yes...total colic!!
So far what is working is a rountine and trying to get her to nap during the day as much as possible. I have found that the more rested she is the better she is in the evening. Her worst time is 7 to midnight (And she has her gassy moments during the day)...since I have started her with more naps...(I was trying to keep her up to make her more tired to sleep at fussy colic time...this only made it worse) she is doing much better. We also use the mylicon drops...and Gripe Water...both are safe and can be used together.
What I have been doing is at 7ish before her feeding I give her a bath...than feeding...than I rock her to sleep...Emma is on formula and breast milk...I Breastfeed during fussy time (calms her) and late night is all formula.
Hope this helps. Hunter is PERFECT!!
How are you feeling???

I thought those matress things were called a co-sleeper? Where did you find a pink soothie pacifier? I can only find them in blue and green.

You're welcome! Yes, this is our first, and we decided not to find out whether it is a boy or a girl. We're counting down the days now - although I am hoping s/he'll wait a few more days because my husband and I are in Wisconsin for a memorial service and I'd like to be at home in NY when the little one decides to arrive!! Hope you enjoy the snuggle nest!

You will be stoked. With both of my kids, I remember waking up like a bolt of electricity was going through my body thinking that I had rolled on the baby! OMG... I am not looking forward to that part again. Because both of my babies slept with us too in bed. That is why I got the snuggle nest just to give me peace of mind ( I found it after my son was born and sleeping with us). Good luck! BTW: your daughter is gorgeous! So precious! Congratulations!! Katie

Thank you!

We're good...there are days I'd like to throw in the towel and stay in a hotel by myself with no kids and no hubby...BUT alas I love them so I stay. :) lol (they wouldn't ever manage without me)

Madalyn is a great baby, she sleeps most of the day because I'm working and like to keep her quite (the longer she can come here the better) so we're up quite a bit at night...but I've found that if I take her right out of her carseat when we get home and let her play on the floor...she'll go down again around 9 till 12:30 or 1. Which is good, gives me time to hang with my hubby and sleep for about a solid three hours. Then we're back between 3&4. Then the whole house gets up and moving around 6. (sleep is a thing of the past) The part I'm thankful for it that she mainly wakes up to eat. get a change and then she'll go back to sleep. (I'm not a great mamma in the middle of the night...so if she were to stay awake long..she'd be in her bassinet awake alone, while mamma went back to sleep)(true, I've slept while she was awake alone)LOL

The house is more cluttered than I like, the laundry piles up now, dinner is almost always burnt or late, and my lawn hasn't been mowed in two weeks. :) but she smiles so it makes life better. We're getting our act together, slowly but surely.

If you are talking about having the baby sleep in the bed with you, then you want to look at sleep positioners. The ones that go in the bed have a sort of wall up by the baby's head to prevent you from rolling onto baby... An alternative to actually having the baby in bed with you, you could look into a co-sleeper... it attatches to the side of your bed (the side that is attatched has no wall so that you are level with the baby and right next to her, but eliminates the chances of rolling ove onto the baby.. Hope this helps!!! Your little girl is beautiful by the way!!! :)

those things are called co-sleepers

maybaby:) - Thursday, 22 May
hey!
Good Morning!! Its 5am:)!! Michael just finished a feeding (or atleast I think he's finished!!! wanted to lay him down and wait a few minutes to see if he falls asleep or wants more!!). Anyways! Thats so good to hear that Hunter's on *just* your breastmilk...I wish I could say the same. I feel like such a failure in that department. In the last week my breasts have gone totally mushy---and i always feed him with them first (before supplementing), so I dont understand why this is happening. I have an appointment on wed.
His cord fell off almost a week ago...I cant believe Hunter still has hers...mind u, it must be normal! I guess every baby's cord just falls off at a different time.
Michael seems to be doing well with the back and forth of boob-bottle. Mind you, I think he gets frustrated with the extra effort the breastfeeding takes...b/c sometimes during breastfeeding he gets really fussy----whereas, the second the bottle hits his mouth he's very calm!
I cannot BELIEVE youre back at work on June 9th. My God. I feel so spoiled now....Im off for a solid year. How long is mat leave in the States?? Is Hunter going to a daycare or do you have family to watch over her? I know it will be hard as heck to go back but it might give you some sanity back. I, on the other hand, believe i have officially LOST all my sanity! ;)
Do you have any idea of the approximate age a baby is when they start waking up further inbetween feedings? I cant wait till he sleeps more than 2.5 hours at a time:)
K, gonna go....looks like the little man may be grumbling for some more milk!
ttys!

maybaby:) - Sunday, 18 May
hey!
Im doing good,.,..had an emotionally-charged first 2 weeks...which i was expecting...but not quite prepared for!!! :) He's wonderful tho...such a good baby...he's got an appetite like his Mother:)! So it keeps me on my toes between the breastfeeding and extra bottle feeds in between. Are you breastfeeding? I know I should probably do one or the other but he only sleeps well after the formula...so I figure at least if I still breastfeed in between he's getting the nutrients from it and then the formula is more or less my sanity-keeper. I swear, he just keeps wanting more and more!!! How is little Hunter's appetite? How long does she sleep in between feedings? Questions! Questions!! :) Write back when u can...wish we lived closer!!!

sherryh - Saturday, 17 May
He's finally here. I am so much in love with him. It's really different having a son. I love it, I love him so much. I'm still working on the breastfeeding part, he doesn't want to lach on, My husband has went out to get me a pump, I'm hoping that will help get my milk in faster, I'm not gonna give up on it, we'll get it soon I hope.
So how is Hunter doing? I'll post pics when I get a chance, It's really hard work taking care of a baby since it's been almost 13 yrs. since I last did. LOL. Well talk to you later..........Sherry

MilMom2Be - Saturday, 17 May

I put up some pictures finally, I guess my hormones are still balancing as I got teary eyed looking at them as I put them up, lol, well will talk to you more later!
