Hi All!!! Im very glad to be here. My husband and I have been trying for quite awhile. I have been, what I call 'happily' sick. I have been told the worse your symptoms the better chance of not having a m/c. I hope thats the case. I am amazed at the worrying I have done since I got the positive test back. Hopefully everything will go smoothly!!! I have never been preggers before and I can say besides feeling sick all the time I am sooooooooooo happy. Probably the happiest I have ever been. Anyhoo, I just moved to Chicago from Cali so I am pretty far away from all my family and friends. If there is anyone out there who is from the area and would like to get together it would be great to meet some other pregnant women in the area!!!

4/27/07- 16 weeks today..WOOO HOOO. Besides having a stuffy nose, headaches and body aches and losing my belly button, all is going pretty smooth. Sounds like a lot of people on the site have felt kicks. If I wasn't losing my belly but I would wonder if I was just having a sinus infection and the baby was just an idea in my head. Lol. I have been amazed at how many of my friends don't talk to me any more now that I am preggers. Which is really sad and depressing considering this is the time I need them most. Luckily I have a great support system in my family and my husband. Without them I would be completely lost. We have our next appt. on May 8 but won't get another ultrasound until the end of the month. I am hoping that we will find out what we are having then. I am dieing! I don't care either way, I am thrilled to be preggers, but I really want to start doing some SHOPPING...Oh yeah~ and I know the grandparents do to =) Its going to be more fun to use the babies name while talking to it too instead of calling it little baby. I will keep ya'll update on everything as things progress. Congrats to you all...What a great time in our lives eh?

5/5/07- Well its a little over a week later and the stuffy nose and headaches haven't stopped. Now I have this horrible pain in my ribs. I can't believe how much pain I am in. The doctor called me back and told me that it has nothing to do with the baby its a highly irratated muscle in my ribs and I will have to just deal with it because I can' take motrin. Ugh. Oh well. As long as babies ok, i will deal with it.Speaking of dealing with it. I am totally surprised that so far, Im not afraid of giving birth. For as long as I remember I have dreaded that day.But now, i have made peace with it. Maybe its because its still pretty far away, or maybe its because of all the episodes of a baby story i have watched. Either way, I can't wait to hold my precious child in my arms....

PRETTIEST MOM

Once you have been hit, you have to hit 5 pretty Moms.

If you get hit again, You will know you are REALLY pretty!

So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are
pretty!

Before I was a Mom

I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.

Pooped on.

Chewed on.

Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom

I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.

Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom

I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -

I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.

Before I was a Mom -

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''

I checked my hospital's website and they had a list of the hotels where they have negotiated rates for patients & hospital visitors. Some offered free parking ans free shuttle to the hospital if they were not walking distance. Good luck!

I vote you divy out major chores to everyone and lock yourself in your room and take a long relaxing nap. Enjoy there support. I know it can be frustraiting. With my son I just wanted total silence all the time so I wouldn't miss a single sign from my body. company just irritated the heck out of me because I had to smile and be happy and I just wanted to be alone untill that majic moment came. With all of your 'false' labor, it sounds like it will be very soon....those contractions are doing something even if they are just moving the baby down. Remember that there are many many changes that have to take place but every contraction even now is getting you closer....Think of this all as VERY VERY early labor.

I was just thinking about the same thing - the hotel discounts. My hospital is about 30 minutes away from home without traffic but up to 2 1/2 hours away on any given day if traffic gets rough and depending upon the time of day. I have a 4 year old and I was going to send her to spend the night(s) with her grandma but my husband said that he just doesn't think it's right sending her off while we bring in the new baby. His idea was for him and her to get a hotel right next to the hospital. I thought that was sweet and it would make me feel good having her close by too. I am going to give my hospital a call. I will let you know if I have any luck.

I found this professional literature review on teh use of blue cohosh and castor oil for inducing labor. You might want to read this before taking the blue cohosh. http://currantsandspice.fateback.com/induction.html

I know what you mean with the pressure. I feel like he/she is falling out of me. Ha Ha. I'm from Illinois too. About 1 1/2hrs from you. A small country town, about a 1/2 south of Joliet. You are lucky to be able to work from home. I would just love to be done with work. My feet are so swollen lately that it is hard to put them up at work. Hopefully the DR will notice them today and say that I should stay home.

I have been 1.5 dialated and 70% effaced for 1 week already. I have read a couple of books and they all say that we can walk around for weeks until we get to 3-4cm. We are so close!:)

Just stay focussed and get that epidural as fast as they will let you. Its so worth it! You can do this, its not hard and its the most incredable thing youll ever do! You will love you baby so much you will feel sick thinking about it. Focus on the prize and push like there is no tomorrow. You will be so proud of yourself in the end.
