Yayyy!!!...I finally get to post an update so hear goes.. my first trimester appt. went great I got my bloodwork done, a pap, had a nurse interview, got a big bag of goodies, and best of all got to see my lil' baby on screen again! The lil' ink blot I once had morphed into a human overnight it seems...lol I saw the hands, the feet, the two hemispheres of the brain, the spine, and the body! My baby was turning and it actually waved at me as if to say 'Hey Momma'! I loved every minute of it even the shot at the end...lol and I hate needles! Now I have to wait 4 more weeks till I see him/her again :-(

I had another prenatal appointment today and it went by really quick though. I got to meet another OBGYN that might be my potential doctor during delivery which was nice, short, and sweet. Shockingly my due date got changed which was news to me because I been trying my best to keep up with my pregnancy week to week and now I don't know when to count anymore :-(... but I'm glad I'm being pushed forward instead of backward! The new date is June 19th, 2008 instead of the 25th. My baby's heartbeat was 160 bmp and my pulse was 120 so we're both pumping like crazy...lol According to the doctor my lil' bean is growing to be a tall baby and my due date may change again! The best part was finding out next visit I could know the sex of my baby because the sonographer is coming to check the lungs, heart, brain, etc.. so if he/she will cooperate all bets will be off come 18 wks! I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!!! Everyone wish me luck...

Yayyyy...I got just what I wanted a beautiful, healthy baby girl!!!! My doctor's appointment went great the usual sign-in, step on the scale, and pee in the cup bit and then you wait patiently for the good stuff...the ultrasound of course! Well I went in and my homegirl Deborah came along as a witness cause everyone claimed it would be a boy but surprise! surprise! My little girl just flipped right on over as to say see yall I'm all girl!!! She was so active the sonographer couldn't even keep up with her heartbeat which was very strong! Everything has developed perfectly and she is actually weighing four days ahead at about 8 to 8.5 ounces!!! I may not feel it yet but she was kicking and punching the mess out of me. I can't wait to have her in my arms she's my lil' pride and joy already!!! After the sono was over I took the AFP test to test for fetus abnormalities and Down Syndrome so hopefully she won't be affected by any of that either. Now I gotta think of finalizing her name...any suggestions?

Well I didn't get to see lil' bean today like I thought I would but I still got to hear her heartbeat which always amazes me! I met with another OB-GYN named Dr. Davis and he was cool very funny too. The visit was short and sweet to say the least her heartrate was in the 130s which is good and she's measuring four days ahead still. Surprisingly I have gained another 5 pounds!!! My total weight gain now is 14 pounds...whoa!!! I am 120 pounds and loving it. LOL On the way out to schedule my next appointment I was informed my genetic test came back NORMAL...Thank God so that means lil' bean doesn't have any abnormalities thus far in her development!!! My next appt. I have to take the dreaded "Sugar" test I been hearing so much about but hopefully it won't be that bad...i'll endure the taste for my lil' girl!

My OB appt. went great! Can you say a sugary, sugary fruit punch that's what my drink tasted like which wasn't that bad and the McDonald's straw I brung along made it even easier...lol It didn't take me no time to drink it at all! The nurse was like "You came prepared!, You go girl! :-0 While waiting the initial hour for the drink to settle this girl came waddling in...poor thing...it was her due date and she was there for her regular check-up since there were no signs of labor. Eavesdropping after she got checked out I overheard she was only 3 centimeters and was told to come back the next day so she waddled back out! lol I felt for her though she looked so ready to pop! After my blood was drawn the numbers that came back were 10.9 and 91 which the nurse said was excellent but I have no clue what they mean! Lil' bean's heartbeat was VERY strong somewhere in the 130s so all in all she's just fine. I can't believe I'll be seven months next thursday and still haven't decided on a name! Well no more tests for me and now my appts are every two weeks so be expecting more updates on me and lil' bean!

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY EVERYONE!!!! My doc's appt. was like always very short and sweet i swear i'm bringing handcuffs to the next one and i'm gonna cuff my unsuspecting doctor to the doorknob and he's not being released until all my questions are answered! My appt. time was at 1:30 pm and by 1:45 pm I was on my way to Chick-fil-a! On a better note lil' bean was so active her heartbeat was in the 150s! Doc said she was measuring 26 1/2 inches which is small but on target for my size so i'm hoping she'll at least be 6 or 7 pounds at birth! I don't have the frame to push out a 9 or 10 pound baby..sorry! Look at my pics you know it and I know it, its just not in the cards for me but never say never!

30 Weeks Everyone!!! My regular OB appt. was even quicker this go round...I forgot to bring the handcuffs! lol Lil' bean's heartbeat was in the 130s and she's still active majority of the day and night! She is now measuring at 29 1/2 top to bottom and 30 from the sides! I also gained a pound. Her kicks are getting stronger and stronger and sometimes even hurt. I'm so ready to meet her and yet so scared to present her to this cruel world! I've been watching too much "Nancy Grace, CNN, ABC11, Dr. Phil, CHANNEL14, SNAPPED" etc.. all I can do is shake my head and go on and try to remain positive! She is my pride and joy!

I actually had my first labor scare tonight which started around 12:00am I was having real bad stomach pains so my first thoughts were its just gas so i shrugged it off and went to the bathroom but when they didn't stop around 12:30 to 1:00am I was like uh! oh!! I called my momma and surprisingly she was still up..cooking cabbage..lol (Don't Ask!) so my momma told me to do some squats very carefully just in case it was just gas but that didn't work! So she told me to stay put pack some clothes and they'd be over to get me! It took all I could to pack some things cause I was still in pain so by the time my momma and daddy got to campus I was like this can't be just gas so we decided to go get checked out at the hospital. We pulled up and my dad apparently sleep deprived or just nervous parked in the Ambulance entrance and this is where the fun began..lmao. On-duty cops and traffic people promptly stop us in our tracks telling us we had to move our vehicle so then my mom proceeds to jump out the car yelling but "she's in labor!" and we were allowed to park long enough for some guy to cart me away in a wheelchair into the hospital! My dad had to stay to move the car and then it starts raining so before I even make it inside I got soaked! I didn't mind the rain but I just really needed my glasses which were inside my bag but nobody was trying to hear me. So a guy wheels me inside and we're on the bottom floor and their asking me all these questions and I get my three bracelets and then I find out I have to go to the fourth floor and do it all over again because downstairs has nothing to do w labor and delivery..lol So they give me a sheet to dry me off/warm me up cart me into the emergency waiting room until some lady came to take me upstairs. That took like 5 minutes and before I knew it I was going the long way up to the fourth floor and still couldn't see a thing..lol The lady pushing me kept asking me questions and she couldn't believe I was almost 8 months! Well I finally get to the fourth floor and the admissions girl was new so she kept apologizing for making dumb mistakes on my paperwork while I'm sitting there still in pain! She cuts off my three bracelets and gives me two more and says from now on just come straight up here! Finally I get admitted to my room my mom had to go to the waiting room for 20 minutes before she was aloud to come in w me where I meet Nurse Wendy who tells me to go in the bathroom remove all my clothes place them in a hazard bag, pee in the cup sign my name on top and bottom, wash my hands, put the hospital gown on, and come back to get prepped for delivery ALL IN ONE SENTENCE! haha After completing each task I was given I got to lay down and Nurse Wendy comes and starts hooking me up to the monitors heart and pulse, then comes the belly band, and then she took my blood pressure by this time I'm like "is this really happening, i'm so unprepared!" I got monitored for about an hour, they kept losing my pulse because the finger thingy was too big for my finger and baby girl was so active she was moving the belly band around my stomach..lol Nurse Wendy asked me everything under the sun before my doctor was called. She even asked me did I have a living will?! By this time my mom was aloud to come back into the room w me and yayyy she had my glasses!!! I continued to be monitored and then Nurse Laberta and Sabrina came in to do a cervical check and something like a pre labor pap smear which wasn't so bad. I learned very quickly that my cervix was still closed Thank God and very long whatever that meant...lol So after some encouraging words and pre-term labor guidelines I was told my doctor on call thinks I had a urinary tract infection that needed to be treated and that I was NOT in labor....this time! So I got my prescription filled and was sent on my way! I would of loved to see lil' bean but I was sooo glad it was a false alarm in the end!!!

I was still hurting after my false alarm off and on with two horse pills down so far so my mother made another appointment for me w my primary doctor today so I was anxious to get there and spill my guts! My first objective was to make sure I got an ultrasound since I haven't seen her since 18 weeks so u know ladies I had to get my acting skills on cause ultrasounds are rare and few if there's no real emergency to these people! lol So soon as I hit the parking lot I got into character I got my scared face on, started waddling, and in we went. I did the initial get weighed, pee in the cup, take my blood pressure bit, and then I got to see my doctor. LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! Soon as he came in I spilled my guts and tried to sound as frazzled as possible so after he checked my cervix and listened to the baby's heartbeat he said get dressed and we're gonna give you an ultrasound today just to make sure she's ok. WOOHOOO!!!! AND THE OSCAR GOES TOO...Ashley Scriven!!!! Yeeaah Boi!!!! I was sooo excited so I hurry up and get dressed, grab my mother out the waiting room, and go into the ultrasound room...he put the hot gel on my tummy...cut the lights off..and there she was!!! Awww...she is sooo cute and has gotten so big I almost didn't know what I was looking at cause she takes up the whole screen now! The first thing I noticed was that head of hers my baby girl has a dome...lol and her lil' cheeks! It wasn't 3D or 4D clear but I loved every minute of it and got another pic to add to the collection. I'm more excited than ever to see her now just hoping I make it too full term!

TAKE TWO! Yes, ladies back to Cape Fear Valley Hospital I went today but this time parking and admitting went alot quicker since I remembered proper procedure from the last time. Yesterday was very scary for me seeing as how I passed out at the wheel in Springlake, NC thankfully my niece who doesn't have a license yet but has taken driver's ed was with me and took over from the passenger seat. She was so shook up after (physically sick, shaking, etc) cause she thought I had died or something cause she couldn't revive me and my foot was still on the gas! I don't remember a thing but it could of been very tragic since Fort Bragg was closed and all traffic was merging into our lane! I didn't go to the hospital though probably a dumb move b/c Lil' bean had not moved but twice b4 bed Sat. night and given her very active nature I was really concerned! After I got hooked up to the heartbeat monitor I felt a little better cause if I could still hear it I knew that meant she was ok! So after a while they let me go telling me my doctor said to eat and drink even more and not to drive! Well I've already eaten my fill for today and lil' bean is back to kicking my tail and I couldn't be happier! God is truely awesome!!!!

Another OB appt. today but this was my regular scheduled appt. no emergency this time. Lil' bean is measuring 30 to 30 1/2 inches now and still on target. Her heartbeat was in the 150s which is great. She was kicking so hard before the doctor came in I knew it would be strong. I gained another pound so that puts me at 125 and 16 pounds total weight gain so far. Other than her kicks I'm starting to feel lil' things in my vajayjay from time to time so I guess she's just testing the waters now..lol Hopefully she'll stay put and bake a little longer or as my momma says "she just needs a lil' more butter!...lmao

Third times a charm...i thought! Yes, Ladies once again while watching Divorce Court I started having really bad stomach pains...thought it was gas so I dealt with it! Around 5pm I'm still hurting so momma talks me out to walk to the mailbox bout twice in hopes the baby would drop! Around 6:30 I'm back in the bathroom and this time I start vomiting. So I'm thinking maybe I ate something that didn't agree w me but the pains were still coming. So my momma calls the doctor's office and they tell me to go to the hospital asap so its taking all I can to stand up and brush my teeth again and pack an overnight bag just in case. We arrive and the whole maternity parking lot is closed off completely due to construction so I got dropped off at Level 1 while my momma parked in the ramp and had to wait for her to take me to the 4th floor to be admitted. I get admitted and they send me to the same room, same nurse as last time and everything and they get me hooked up to the monitors once again and I was so dehydrated from the vomiting they couldn't even get my veins to show up for my IV! So they pile blankets on top of me to get me warm and start me on fluids. After my third bag of fluids they start unstrapping me cause I was having preterm labor contractions and was moving to my LDR room asap! Since this isn't my birth story (obviously) I'll try and cut it short I get to my room which was very nice by the way and they strap me up once again, insert my catheter, gave me a shot immediately to increase the baby's lung development just in case I do deliver. Then they gave me my first dose of Stadol to cope with the labor pains! I was out after then but they kept coming in too check my cervix and my progress so it was just alot of waiting. I was having contractions about every 3 minutes then they would space out then start coming back to back which is why they kept me so long cause my cervix is still closed and I had no signs of dilating so I just had to take it! lol The MAIN reason I am still babyless now is because I am only 33 wks so they were doing everything in their power to keep her in there! Even though one of my dads' friends granddaughters' was there also and was only 6 months and walked out with hers! WHAT GIVES! Good thing is I had two ultrasounds while I was there and she is breathing on her own now and would of been about 4 or 5 pounds and is very healthy so I was kind of pissed that they were drugging us for so long and just wouldn't let me have her! Well wish I could say i'm all better now but truth is i'm still having contractions and i'm in and out as I type so yall just keep checking back cause i might go in any minute, any hour, or any day! Pray 4 us ladies and i'll do the same for yall!

After enduring about six hours of labor on my own on my big comfy couch My mom called my doctor back and told him to meet us at the hospital! I was determined not to go cause I didn't want them drugging my lil' bean up again so I was battling to stay put but my momma wasn't having it! So we get in the car exactly 1:30am and head to Cape Fear Valley. They admitted me so quick and sent me straight to LDR no Triage this time at all! They put me on the monitors and my contractions were going off the charts the little red scribbly line was going all the way up to the top and back down again but still no progress down under. So I got put on more Stadol so I could sleep through the pain and it was a wrap after that I was out for the count. That medicine takes so long to get out of my system days later I'm still like BLAH! Momma says I'm like a ragdoll and I can definetely agree with her cause I'm still "high" right now..lol I'll be going for a checkup Monday or Tuesday b4 my regular appt. so I'll keep updating until then ladies...NITE!

Yayyy I had a follow-up appt. scheduled today to check my progress from all the false alarms and it went very good. I learned today that lil' bean is head down and very engaged...(whatever that means). My cervix is still closed and she's measuring about 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 pounds! I had an ultrasound too but no pictures to take this time plus I couldn't tell ya what I was looking at anyway..lol My doctor says my small frame is literally hiding her in my uterus which is why she measures small when they check my belly manually. Her heartbeat was in the 150s and I'm still on target for June! My contractions haven't stopped but are bearable, the constant backaches are getting hard to deal with, the nausea and fatigue come and go, and so do the headaches but I'm still ALIVE!!!! Well I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow and still going so we'll see what happens....

Where shall I begin?... all last night I was having contractions on my own just squeezing the life out of all 50 of my pillows till finally this morning I couldn't take it! I got up and asked my mom for two tylenols' remembering Doc told me I could take those up to 650mg. Well this didn't work at all because not even 10 minutes later I threw them back up! lol So much for home remedies during false labor. Now I'm really battling the pains and just wanna go back to sleep cause I know the hospital will just send me back anyway. This continues for hours on end and during this time I've had diarrhea, sweats, nausea, back pain, etc...but with the help of my mom I dealt with it. Good news is there was no signs of real labor or any back labor w these contractions. Thank the Lord!!! It is now 9:58pm and I am just now starting to feel complete relief from today's false labor! I already gave my mom her card and her present earlier today because as you can see through all my recent posts SHE REALLY, REALLY, REALLY DESERVES IT!!!! Well I'm about to call it a night b4 lil' bean decides to start acting up again so to all the mothers' and mother's to be HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!....

The Saga Continues....I awoke around 5am to really bad stomach pains and again just thought it was gas or indigestion but I was wrong AGAIN! I was having contractions but these were bearable so I opted not to retreat to the hospital once again. Well around that morning they started to get stronger and more frequent but still not as bad as the first time I had em' so I knew I wasn't in labor. My momma called my doctor to see if I could get checked out anyway so around 3pm I was strapped to those familiar monitor belts having my first NST. It went ok but my doctor wanted to do another one since my contractions had stopped a long time ago so I had a 10:30 appt. scheduled the next morning. That night I slept so hard it was almost like my pre-prego days all over again! Well this appt. went good as well the NST looked alot better to my doctor so I got my checkout papers and went home. I go for check-ups every week now so next appt. I take the group B strep test so hopefully that comes out negative and I don't have anymore "almosts".... Keep praying for us ladies

Oh yeah, Oh yeah...in the words of Beyonce.."so if u want too, ah huh-huh-huh, you got the GREENLIGHT! Doctor says if I start having contractions now they won't stop me!!! Yes, now she can come at anytime and I'm getting everything ready. Lil' bean is now measuring at 34 to 35 1/2 inches now! I still don't know if I have dilated any yet maybe next appt. The group B strep test was so quick and easy for those who are skeptical all they do is take a q-tip and stick it in and take it out! Its not even like a pap smear at all cause the q-tip doesn't even go that far. I didn't get my blood pressure or lil' bean's heartrate like usual this time but my next appt. is the 29th and hopefully my results will come back negative. This thursday I will be 9 months exactly and still counting down...anyday now lil' bean!

Hey, Hey, Hey....well since been given the greenlight yours truly ended up back at Cape Fear Valley Hospital once again but this time I walked in all smiles and no pain! Why you ask?... because I had been bleeding since earlier that morning but nothing else and was told to get checked out at Triage just in case. Well I got sent to bed number three until the nurse could check me out and everything and it was there that I learned I was 1CM dilated and very thinned out!!! I was also having mild contractions about every fifteen minutes but couldn't feel them. So I got my discharge papers and bounced! I am happy to say this time momma was well prepared w her hospital bag in tow!

I'M FULL TERM!!!!!! It gets no better ladies...no really...its just not! lol I am so happy I made it this far! My doctor's appt. went great. I gained my 3 pounds back so I'm at 126 now and that makes 19 pounds total weight gain. This might not seem like alot to most but to me its major. Baby girl's heartbeat was in the150s and I didn't even get to eat breakfast before I came so she's active regardless. I have now progressed to 2CM! Yayyyy!!!! Doc said baby was drop-out low and I could deliver soon! *BTW* I could definetely tell a difference cause this was the first time I actually had to brace myself when he did my cervix check..but I digress...oh yeah and lil' bean is measuring bigger too! Well my baby shower has finally arrived and dare I say I'M EXCITED!!!! Hopefully Saturday will be filled with lots of laughter, love, and gifts! lol I will post pics as soon as I can after so yall can see how it turned out! Lata Ladies.....

WOW! My baby shower was sooo much fun! Lil' bean got lit up w gifts and there is still much more on the way! I can't believe how much love and support we have received throughout my pregnancy! Kind of makes me teary eyed when I think about it. None of my friends showed up but it was still a blast! Well today started off very unexpected we didn't have any running water...lol Aquafina bottles anyone?! I was pissed but momma wasn't gonna cancel our appt.. It's just something about washing up in a pot that just doesn't work for me...lol Anyhoo we finally make it to my appt. at 9:50am I do the usual weigh in, pee in the cup, BP, wait some more...etc. Well doc came in measured my height of fundus, checked lil' bean's heartbeat, and did the "OMG, it feels like his fingers are in my throat, he's so deep" cervix check! This is when things got interesting I learned I was 3CM and lil' bean was still measuring 34 wks...way off since today I was just turning 38 wks! So doc decided to do an ultrasound to make sure the measurements weren't off. After the ultrasound I was told to meet him in the office to see what was gonna be done since I only have 2 more weeks till D-day. On a good note lil' bean's heartbeat was great in the 130s but the fact that her measurements have been off since I was 15 weeks was concerning him so he said and I quote..."You might be induced today!" I looked at my mom and said..."did he say today?!"...so I was sent to the NST room for about half an hour to make sure lil' bean wasn't in distress and that didn't last long at all! She was going at it kicking and moving and rolling around like nobody's business I couldn't even press the button fast enough so doc said there's no need to induce today...WOMP! WOMP! However if lil' bean doesn't come on her own by my next appt. (which is the 11th) I will be induced that day!!! Sooo...lil' bean has her eviction papers now and either way the cookie crumbles she'll be here by Father's Day!!! Yayyyy...I can't wait...Pray for me ladies
