IT"S A BOY!!!! We are so happy!
We had a scare at week 28. I went into pre-term labor without even knowing it. I was contracting every 2 minutes and did not feel a thing. Unfortunately, the contractions shortened my cervix to 1.5cm. The good thing is that I am not dilated. As a result, I was placed on bed rest until week 36. I have to take Procardia 4 times a day to stop the contractions. I asked the doctors repeatedly about the effects of the medicine and they told me it does not cross the placenta and that the benefits outweigh the negatives.
The great thing about the bed rest and meds is that my cervix has not changed so it worked. The little guy is hanging in there. Week 36 is the magic number. The doctors are comfortable with him being born if it was to happen. During my last visit my doctor said there is a strong possibility that I might go overdue but no guarantees.
The little guy has been doing well throughout our chaos. While I was stressed out, contracting, being put on all kinds of medications, and being poked and jabbed in areas I didn't think was possible, he was contently sucking his thumb. It was such a relief seeing him that way.
Lots of luck to all. Counting down the days:)
So happy to have made it to week 37. We are a fingertip dilated, 80 % effaced, he is at 0,-1 station. Can't wait!!
PS- Sorry for my page being so plain. I have no idea how to add anymore pictures or how to spice it up.

Sunday, 9 Mar I've also had no appetite lately, and was really surprised to see that I'd gained 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks. Don't worry about it. I think that our weight can fluctuate greatly based on how much water we're retaining. Not to mention variations in what you're wearing, etc. Early in my pregnancy I had to see the doctor 3 times in one week. I 'gained' six pounds overnight, and then 'lost' the weight a couple days later. I think it was just water and heavier clothes. bvalley1982 -
Saturday, 8 Mar i think you should let your sis know what your intentions are (not making it but sending nice gift) and also maybe just play it by ear. what if there is a small chance that you will be okay with going, granted its slim but just maybe. hope this helps :) pretteaone -
Saturday, 8 Mar Thanks... today was the first time I had a little blood... I was reading the baby could come in the next several hours or days.. I'm getting a little nervous.. luvmyboys -
Saturday, 8 Mar Wow! I think an awesome gift like that should make up for any abscence!! LOL! Seriously, just express your regrets about not being able to be there and let her know you really appreciate everything she did for you and I would hope she would understand! Your ultrasound picture is amazing, btw. The best one I've ever seen. beetys1st -
Saturday, 8 Mar I frickin gained 4 lbs in a week and a half. I was perturbed cause I'd only gained 11 lbs up to that point! I think it says in week 36 that you really shouldn't gain any weight from 36 on. I sure hope I don't. Good luck to you! I had to vent! LOL! dawnp -

Saturday, 16 Feb I have been on bedrest since 26 weeks (now 31 weeks) so I know how you feel. I was in the hospital for 10 days but I am home now. I too was having contractions, even though I didn't know it and my cervix has shortened and I have dilated to 2 cm. But have been ok since Jan 20, no change atleast. I am very bored but so nervous about having my baby early. so I will just do what the dr says and pray that everything goes ok. Good luck to you guys. momoffive -
Sunday, 20 Jan We had a 4 dr volkswagon Jetta with our first child. We didn't have any trouble at all getting the car seat in and out of the car. We had a ford focus with our second and did find the back seat in that one a little tighter between front seat and back seat for the infant carrier. You could take your infant carrier with you while car shopping. I really wish we would have. I would rather have a sporty 4 door car over an suv any day and miss my Jetta so much. We now have to many children and even our mini van is going to be to small, we are going to be car shopping in the near future too which really gets me because were exactly on year away from paying it off and not having a car payment for hte first time in years! We may just double car it for family activities for a while. padow -
Thursday, 3 Jan 33 and due with my first Jun 14. Very nervous, as well! Thinking of you--congratulations on your pregnancy! brandy82 -
Monday, 31 Dec Hello, my little girl is the same way. Some days she kicks up a storm and some days I barely feel her, and, of course I get worried. (my first one too) LOL, is it April yet? ladobruk -
Sunday, 30 Dec Your baby could be facing the back in which case you won't feel as strong of movements. We invested in a fetal heart rate monitor, I have to say it was the best investment. It is very comforting to hear a strong heart beat especially when you have worries. dawnp -
Friday, 28 Dec I read your comment about the vaccines..My ped allows me to space out my daughters vaccines..Its scares the h*ll out of me what they are saying about them. The MMR is the one that raises the most concern although 'they is no medical proof' that they cause autism. If you go onto the center for disease website they have alot of info. But my dr said no problem with the spacing as long as she gets them..We have gone evey month for shots but its worth it..And they are up to five shots at a time not just just three..poor lil babies!!! libby1822 -

Monday, 24 Dec It is good to be cautious but still enjoy your pregnancy!
I am on the cautious side about the foods I eat and the environment I expose myself too, but I am doing my best not to let those things overrule the joy of pregnancy!
Good luck! jscottn401 -

Thursday, 13 Dec Our contract is the same way--job title guaranteed but not a position at our school. I love my school, so I'd be sad to lose my position here. I know other teachers have pumped during the day here--I'll just have to ask around. Good luck! juniperberry -

Thursday, 13 Dec Hey there--I saw your comments in the 22 weeks board. I'm a teacher too (3rd grade) and having my first. And yes, sitting in those little chairs can be really uncomfortable. And forget sitting on the floor! How are you planning on handling work next year? I definitely have to work, so I'm trying to figure out the whole nursing/pumping/childcare thing while teaching. Wednesday, 12 Sep Hi I saw your post on Listeria...I just wanted to say that most doctors would agree that you should cook the cold cuts first. krittlemiddle -
Thursday, 30 Aug Hey I'm a first time mommy too! My first appointment is on the 5th also!!! We haven't told anyone except our parents yet b/c I'm waiting for that first dr. appointment. How many weeks do you think you are? Online it says i'm 6 weeks but with my symptoms I think I may be further along. Anyways I also noticed you are a teacher. I am too! I teach 2nd grade and being preggers so far and being sick all the time isn't working out too well. How about you? katrinaingle -
