Feb 22:
Due date is tomorrow, i really hope i am not the typical late first-timer! Wish me luck ladies and i wish you all happy healthy pregnancies! :D

Feb 14 (hence the pink):
Its Valentines Day, i hope that my hub remembers ..i only reminded him 8 times. :) Another week another doc appt tomorrow..he's going with me, so hopefully he can remember the questions i always forget. I added some new pics to my page, the crib is set up with the ladybugs, its pretty cool, i like how it turned out.

Ah yes, American Idol season once again, if anyone else is into it, feel free to leave a comment about who you like, think will win, etc. I am addicted to that show!

Well, its the final countdown ladies, just 9 days to go! woo hoo!!

Feb 7:
Doc appt tomorrow, yay *sarcasm*. haha sorry, i've just about had it with all the appt's i would love to be done and over with! last night my husband says "why don't you just have the baby already" like its my choice. cracks me up! i bet you all would have given him an ear full. well i did! in a bantering way of course.

well at least i'm feeling a little better today. i ranted on the forums yesterday that i was getting a bit under the weather but thankfully its turning around. it was just scary last night coz my jaw was hurting which was a new one! i thought, hmm am i getting a flu or something, but this morning i just started chugging tea with lemon and i am doing much better. no one wants to get sick so close to their due date, that would be treacherous!!

i was thinking last night about what i'll do when the big labor hits..i'm hoping i can distract myself, maybe watch a movie or some dane cook on the laptop, we'll hopefully be able to bring that in the hospital room. i think if anyone could make me laugh during painful times it will be dane..he's just a riot. i mean, i normally don't like super low brow humor, but he isn't always raunchy..he just has this way (like most good comedians) of making the most normal situations hilarious. if you haven't checked him out, PLEASE go on YouTube and do so. there is a skit in particular where he talks about this guy sneezing on him and he says "god bless you" with a tone of "f**k you" i can't begin to describe but thats probably my fav bit of his, he really goes on a tangent about religion and its great..i am a Christian and i just had to laugh because this guy that sneezes on him is an Atheist and they proceed to go into a religious discussion..you gotta check it out, just trust me!!! :)

ok not sure where i was going with this entry today, but hey i'm preggo and don't have to reason my mindlessness. hope all are well, from what i keep hearing everyone of you practically has lost your mucus plug, i'm not quite there yet, but thats ok, happy where i'm at!

Feb 4:
Got the crib on Saturday morning. It's second hand, but everything was great except for the fact that the ppl didn't clean it before they sold it. My mom says to me "not everyone was raised like you" haha. I thought that was funny. But yeah, it wasn't terrible just little kid grime on the bars and i cleaned up everything so now it looks great. It's a Pali crib, natural wood, i'll have to put up a pic soon coz i'm a dork about it! I just love the fact that everything is coming together. Makes me feel like i don't have to worry about as much after the baby comes. Also, we were at Walmart yesterday and my mom and are waiting in the line when this lady walks up and says , "it's a boy right?" to which i replied, NOPE GIRL! (i get that it's going to be a boy ALL the time from random strangers, its getting old) so she of course replies how she has never been wrong and she has 4 boys of her own. SOOO i was amazingly polite and said, well we'll see, and then she walked off and i ranted to my mom about how i'm a few weeks until my due date so of course i am holding the baby lower, but my whole pregnancy prior i held the baby quite high. I'm not even saying that correlates to what sex you'll have because i think thats hogwash, but if it was, there ya go! (now watch, after allllll the pink i was given, it will be a boy). :) Come on God don't mess with me.

Feb 1:
EDIT: yep, all was well with the glucose! however, they did a GBS swipe, and that was kind of strange but nowhere near as awkward as a Pap. neither is fun, but it wasn't bad is what i'm trying to say!

Hey the glucose wasn't too bad, i just drank this soda thing and then they took some blood, which was nothing. I just hope it comes out ok, i'm sure i'll be fine, not in my hands anyway. I tell ya, if you ever need cheering up listen to KT Tunstall's version of "I want you back" its great! I say that coz this morning i was a bit grouchy, no sleep last night. I have my doc appt today, i think this is where she starts the exams weekly. I hope she can feel from the outside today and tell me how the baby is positioned. That would be sweet! Man if one more person asks me "i bet you're ready to get that baby out eh?" i'm gonna look at them and say "yep, in fact, i feel something coming..CATCH!" and i'm gonna throw a baby doll at them. LOL I spose everyone is just trying to be empathetic and i should just not listen. :)

January 28:
Been feeling really tired as of late. Not sure if its all finally catching up to me or if i'm not feeling well. Best not to dwell i spose! I have been looking for a crib for the last week or so and i am not having the best luck. Aside from searching retailers i have tried craigslist and been looking everyday to see what kind of deals i can find. People seem to want what they paid which is kind of ridiculous unless the crib is seriously brand new or been used very lightly(highly doubtful). So i have been emailing and making offers but to no avail. Does anyone else have any advice on this?

My MIL is gone for a week. Woot! Other news, hmm, not much other than i have to go get my glucose test done tomorrow (yeah i've been procrastinating BIG time) and i'm not looking forward to sitting at the lab for an hour, but ah well. It must be done! Hope everyone is doing well and healthy as can be!

January 23: Hiccups

Aren't they insane! My belly is jumping in a consistent rhythm and i thought, yep there she goes again. Also, i must have had to pee at least 20 times today. I guess coffee never helps! (don't worry, was decaf)
My old co-worker called me today and we set up a time to go for lunch. I kind of miss work, in a strange way. I'm sure i'll get over it! I went shopping and got some of the items i still needed today at Target. This lady stops me as i'm walking around with all these baby related items in my cart and says "you're pregnant!" LOL Bless her..she was a bit off i think. Older, probably around 75ish. Anyway, i just got a big smile and said "yes i am!"

Its getting so close now, i keep thinking about it. And my husband is really anxious too. I know he's probably stressed a bit. I can't blame him, but i'm trying really hard to keep everything light and cheerful so he doesn't get too serious. It is difficult sometimes tho, because of hormones and just the overall reality of things. You all know what i mean! I can't sit and fret about being a good parent, i just have to try the best i can and let each day come. It is fun to think of firsts however. Sometimes i imagine what she'll sound like, or what kind of personality she'll have. First christmas will be this year, and she'll be aware enough to know whats going on and oooh and ahh over the lights. Its so exciting and i'm still in awe over everything. Not sure if that feeling will ever go away. :)

Randomness:
Yes i am writing a MIL log now but i have decided to post it on myspace for privacy reasons. :) Please add me if you're interested:

January 17:
Made the mistake in the last few days of reading too much and watching childbirth videos. I really don't recommend watching the vids because everyone is different and it might just make you more apprehensive or down right freaked out. Some women scream bloody murder, others simply grunt with concentration. But reading is ok, i just overindulged. I was reading about childbirth pain management and how to focus all your thoughts or distract yourself during contractions. Its pretty good advice, and i know for first time moms (like myself) you are better off going into the situation with a little knowledge under your belt. But like i said, too much can be a hinderance as well, because you may anticipate things that won't necessarily happen to you. I think i will just watch my body really close and follow its signals. Can't go wrong really. :)

January 13:
Ahh to relax at home. Last night wasn't bad sleeping wise, i treasure those nights where i only wake up once or twice to go to the bathroom! haha It's the little things in life i tell ya..

Question of the day: why is it that sometimes i can eat and eat and other days i take 3 bites and feel as if i'm going to explode? Must be the position she's in or something...if anyone has an idea please let me know!

January 12:

I can't believe it, time is flying and here i am baby kicking as i type! I stopped working last thursday and now i'm in full fledged nesting mode which is pretty cool. Only thing is, i can go for short spurts then, yep you guessed it, have to sit for a mo and relax the ol feet! But overall this experience has been great so far and the only real complaint i have is lack of sleep. Nothing new though to any of you i'm sure!

My family has been great, mainly my parents and brother, his wife, etc...i really love talking to them about the baby and my mom gets excited when she gets to feel the baby kick.

I may have a tendency to rant in here on occasion, but i'm pretty sure you all will understand. That being said, only 6 weeks left and the little one makes their debut!

My little one (Anna Miriam) was born on Tuesday, March 4th at 2:19 PM weighing 8 pounds 15 ounces! Long and strong like her daddy, adorable face, sweetest disposition. Long feet and fingers! Darling cheeks...I'm so in love. We just got home from hospital Friday eve. Definitely not much time for computer these days. Best of luck with Madelynn. What a pretty name!

Tonight we are celebrating my mom's birthday and we are cooking for her. I don't think I'll go into labor before end of night, but you never know! That would be pretty wild. Anyway...talk to you soon. And best of luck with everything! From one singing mommy to another.

Just about ready! If it happened now, I'd be ready but I think a few extra days might be nice. How are you feeling? You could be delivering as I write. Hope it goes wonderfully well. We should compare notes in a few weeks (recuperation time included)! All the best...

Oooo, I love Leonard Cohen. Good choice. Wow, you're due tomorrow. Almost there for sure! Good luck and stay in touch. I still haven't been singing to her as much as I should, but once she's born I will. I have made up song about her getting ready to come out and play and sing that but it's more for my entertainment and my boyfriend and his seven year old daughter. But she may like it too! Anyway, best of luck...any day now literally. I can't wait to hold her in my arms and sing to her...will think of all the lullabies I know and other songs I love. It's great that you sing and play, baby will love. Great skill to have. Keep me posted! Maybe we'll have our babies on same day, who knows?

Sometimes drs or midwives do not routinaly check mine does not but I polietly asked her to and she was very willing and now does it at every appt. maby just ask next time.

mrsj - Friday, 22 Feb
I haven't been checked so far this pregnancy either. With my last pregnancy the first internal I had was when I went to hospital in labour, and thankfully it was established and everything was fine. I mean, for all they knew I could have had two vaginas or some horrible outbreak of syphilis or something. In australia they even get you to do your own GBS swabs! I'm having a sweep done on Wed if my cervix is 'favourable'. Isn't it exciting though, we get our babies soon! So many months of preparation, it'll finally pay off.

mamacece - Friday, 22 Feb

LoveMyBelly6 - Friday, 15 Feb
You know, I really should sing to her more. And take out the guitar. I've been bad...mostly just shower singing. But I do plan to sing with her a lot when she's born. I have taken her to some concerts, though, in utero and tonight was in a restaurant and I really responded and so did she when the live music guitar player guy played some good Bob Dylan tunes including one of my faves that I used to cover 'Don't Think Twice It's All Right' and others. And she loved seeing Natalie Merchant live when I was 8 months preggers. But I really should sing to her more, I know I will...Does your baby seem to respond when you sing? I'm sure she'll love it and probably recognize it. That's a wonderful gift to have and to nourish her with...

ace25baker - Wednesday, 13 Feb

Carlaz - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Thanks, I thought that I had a great delivery, just an awful recovery, just as I thought it would be one of the best I've had the wound open since the section, and in a lot of pain because of infection, but to be honest I do feel a heck of a lot better now and you how are you feeling waiting for your lil bundle of joy, It won't be too long now, wish you, hubby and baby the best LOve CarlaXXX

wendiest - Sunday, 10 Feb

inkognit007 - Friday, 8 Feb
I just got back from the hospital and the NST went well. The baby's heartrate and movement are good. My amniotic fluid is on the low side but my dr. said that I should be fine for the weekend. My next appt. at the office is on monday and she already told me that if my fluid levels dip anymore than what they are then I will be induced following my office visit. SO...with that said I am going to run around this weekend and do all that I can think of that needs to be done.

inkognit007 - Friday, 8 Feb
PLEASE...I wish my nursery looked like that. That's the picture that they post to get you to buy the set hoping that your nursery will turn out like that. The set is Gorgeous but no way will I be able to duplicate that look *LMAO*
