Hi everyone my name is Emma..i am 20years old from Northern Ireland and i am pregnant with my first. Was so scared when i first found out but didnt take long for excitment to kick in lol now i cant wait for my lil girl to arrive.

I had a terrible time at the start with morning sickness..or i should say all day sickness lol once i got over that i culd finally enjoy being pregnant!!

The father of my baby and i are not together anymore as we had only been together about a month before i got pregnant we didn't really get to know eachother properly and then suddenly everything got serious. We tried to make it work but the feelings just wern't there anymore..and now hes being a total a$$ about everything!! his new "gf" was txting me from his fone being a total B*T*H telling me wat i should and shouldn't be doing!!! :O:O

i dont need or want him for anything..i have lost wat respect i had left for him wen he starting speaking to me like i am worthless!! but he says he wants to see his daughter when she arrives which i know i cant stop him doing but it will definately be on my terms and not his!! my baby girl is going to get so much love from me and my family that she wont need anything from him!!

have u felt ur baby move- yes..i love it..even though im getting uncomfortable now it reassures me shes still growing in there :)

have you heard the heartbeat- yes...my last doctors appt he didnt even have to use a doppler he could hear it using his stethescope..nice strong heartbeat :)

Hello firsttimemum from NI, I just read your comment in the 34 weeks section, and I think you should speak to your midwife or doctor about this. There is a condition called "pre-eclampsia" which can be very serious, and is more likely to happen with first time pregnancies (I now know this as I am also 34 weeks pregnant and have just been diagnosed with this...also from NI..!)
High blood pressure, or higher than normal, plus headaches and nausia or vomiting is not good. If your ankles, feet, hands or face are also swollen, you really need to go to the docs as soon as possible. I'm not trying to scare you, but better to annoy the medical staff and have them check you out, rather than sit at home with a bad headache and hypertension.

I felt awful too for the first few months but feel fine now. I've bought most things we need now for my little man so it's nice just being ready and waiting for him to arrive

. I've still to find a pushchair but going to look for one this weekend and have a few in mind so shouldn't take long

. We're still thinking about names

. Have you picked a name for your little girl yet? You don't have that long to go now, how exciting

no way...how weird!!

ah well great minds think alike!! lol

to be honest we will probably come up with something totally different by the end too but its just nice to have something in mind as i worry she will just be baby purvis for the first few weeks of her life and that would be shocking!!

it sounds like the less contact you have with him the better anyway but at least he is showing some interest and responsibility! most run a mile then come crawling back when the hard times are over and you are doing really well so they can mess it all up again

you sound like your doing really well anyways hun! i think its hard to get everything and as long as we have the essentials like moses basket, blankets and suits we can get the rest as we go! so i keep telling myself anyway! lol

have just been to the chemist and got some gaviscon so hoping that will help with the pain in my tum, am just assuming it is heartburn but i will try anything at the mo!

dont get me started on names, still really dont have any apart from possibly Leah (?) i loved Ava Mae but for some reason he wont have Ava and now i cant seem to find another name i like as much! we are watching all the credits at the end of every program hoping one will jump out magically and we will fall in love with it!! lol have you got names? at least you can choose without someone saying no way!! have you heard much more from the ex? xxx

Not long left now eh??!! I dont know about you but I am getting really impatient now and sick of not sleeping well at night, I know it will be worse when baba is here but at least the times I can sleep between feeds I wont have a big belly making me uncomfy (well hopefully lol)

Anyways have you got most things? We are miles away from being sorted and havent even got the room decorated!!

John had his bum stuck out to the right side of my belly button the other day it was so uncomfortable and it made me have a lopsided bump. they must be getting really cramped in there still not long to go now

hey, things are good with me and bump, he's definately an active one. i've only 8 weeks 3 days left (i'm not counting either lol) his favourite thing at the minute is to kick out in slow motion, which is getting pretty uncomfortable.
just read your new update and can't believe what a muppet Darren is being, fancy letting his new GF text you - what has it got to do with her anyway. i would be so pissed if that were me.
are you still working? i don't start my maternity leave until the 24th October (2 days before your due date

Well, the fight with my job is over and they won. As of last week h/r had dropped everything but this Sat my boss told me that I had to report to a meeting on Today, so when I arrived my boss was there along with h/r and the company supervisor. Anyhow, I was forced to sign the excessive absence paper or I was going to be terminated ( even though I had drs excuses and also they counted the approved time 2 days I had in June against me) they said that It is all considered excessive absences to the company whether it was approved or not. Also, I was slammed with a insubordination paper, which will remain on my file forever. If I get 1 more insubordination I will be fired immediately. I received that for refusal to initially sign the paper. Anyhow, they got me and thats it. I felt like I was attacked and they had an excuse for everything that I said. I was so strong before but I broke down and started to cry and told them how I was good to the company for 8 years with a clean h/r file and I was being treated unfairly. Anyway, today I fell low and taken advantage of. They allso made me submit my maternity leave letter , which I plan on leaving the last week of Sept now if I last that long now. The whole thing sickens me; I just can't wait till my new baby comes and I will forget about that job forever. I guess I will stay till next month until I am either harrassed by my boss until I resign or they find a reason to terminate me. I know you all are probably sick of this story as I am also, but I wanted to thank everyone who has supported me and given me advice. I am just really upset.

I feel even worse that I broke down today and the supervisor said that If I was not pregnant I would have already been fired because of my attitute and disrespect to my boss, but that she is cutting me slack because I am emotional. Anyway, maybe one of you can learn something from my rotten experience. I just don't know anymore! They even suuggested I take a leave earlier. Oh well, I guess there is nothing more to say.

aww lovey i am sorry to hear about you and Darren but you seem to be taking it ok, as long as you have your family and friends around you, you'll be fine and i;m sure Darren is still going to be involved with your baby girl. i know what your going through as i split up with Andrew when we was having Lucy and we got back together when she was nearly 2. its tough and it will be hard but when you see your kids happy everything is worth it. if youever want to moan about anything just give us a shout.

Heres the work update: Alot of you are asking and it is so I thought I'd give a big update on it. Anyway, I reported to work on Sat and my boss was already there and the lady from human resources came shortly after. I was then called into the office for a meeting and I of course had a copy of the work handbook with me.haha. So, I once again stated my case and why I was refusing to sign the dicipline and h/r broke down the days that my boss was trying to count against me. The 2 Saturdays in June were thrown out by h/r becuase they were preapproved days off and not call offs( my boss tried to say that they were not pre approved) but I told her she better tell the truth because there is documentation to prove that they were( I filled out a personal leave paper 2 weeks in advance), so she admitted to h/r that they were indeed pre approved. That left 3 days in July 2, which were pregnancy related and 1, which was due to babysitter having an emergency. 1 ofm the drs excuse days was also thrown out but I am being held responsible for the (babysitter day). Anyway, h/r told my boss to hold off on the dicipline until I submit the zoo trip excuse, which I did yesterday, so we'll see what happens. I did point out that policy states that FMLA excuses cannot be held against an employee along with the fact that a dicipline cannot be issued unless the excessive absences are 2 consecutive months in a row, which does not apply to me since the June days were thrown out. H/R is supposed to be mailing me FMLA paperwork to fill out if I have any future pregnancy related call offs, which would count against my 12 weeks. Honestly I think they were both floored that I had a copy of the handbook and brought it with me to state my case. I guess I'll see what happens next. I think that evil boss of mine will try to find another way to get me out. I told them that I planned to stay until Oct 1st and my boss made a comment saying If you last that long, which I replied what do you mean by that? She said well... you don't know what can happen with your pergnancy and all. Whatever! That woman is NASTY! I ahve had problems with her ever since she became manager back in Oct. I can't wait to leave that place and never go back! I will soon have my new little boy. I am not going to let that crappy job bring me down. It is what it is. Thank you all for your concerns and I will give another update when I find out whats next.

hi just replying to your post on my page. There are 3 different versions on when the 3rd trimester starts. My doctor goes by week 27 and I'm also going by my book "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" and also going by this website http://www.baby2see.com/pregnancylength.html
It depends on who is your doc/midwife and personal counting I suppose. But gonna go by what my doc says which means I will be in 3rd trimester starting tomorrow : ) this also being my 4th child I would suppose it really doesn't matter anyway and the pregnancy is starting to lose its novelty lol.

Hi, I wanted to give everyone an update on my work situation. I reported to work today at 8am my scheduled time and at 3pm 1 hr before my shift ends my boss came and called me into her office to sign the warning paperwork pertaining to the 3 days I called off in July 2 of which I had a medical excuse for. I told her that I refuse to sign the paperwork because I have medical documentation and 1 non medical excused call off is not considered excessive for 1 month. She told me I had to sign it anyway even if I did not agree and that I could write a comment on the paper and I said no, not without my legal councel rewiewing this document. I picked the paper off the table to look at It and she tried to snatch it from me stating that I was not allowed to have a copy unless I signed it. I still refused. She told me that I will be insubordinate but I still held my ground. I walked out of the office and resumed my duties until 4pm. I ultimately decided not to give in to this because I discussed this with my dad and sterpmother and they advised me that I do have rights even as a part time employee and that what they are trying to do is NOT legal. I also got alot of responses from all of you. So, I guess we'll find out what happens with me this week. Yes, I do need the money but I am not going to let anyone take my rights away, so thats why I decided to stand my ground. Oh yeah, they cancelled the zoo trip and she didn't even tell me to come to work and when I brought that up she got defensive and said she had already found coverage. Anyway, I hope everyones pregnancy is going well and I want to thank everyone who responded to my post needing advice.

They are both lovely names. I like Summer it's a name we considered (and still could be - still not giving the sex away!

) I think thats what we will do, pick a few then when we meet him or her for the first time hopefully one of the names will just click (or we will just have to keep thinking LOL

!) Think I'm going to start stuggling with keeping the sex a secret as I keep nearly referring to Baba by name or sex, plus I would like to see what other people think of the names we are thinking of. xx
