I'm 38 years of age and have recently survived two miscarriages (just about) .
My first baby was due Oct 5th, and unfortunately did not make it past nine weeks, so I miscarried in March 2008. In June I found out I was expecting my second baby, due February 10th 2009, but unfortunately I miscarried this child too, at six weeks, although I didn't find out until I was nine weeks.
On both occasions I have had 'missed miscarriages', which means the baby stops growing but does not come away from my body, and I happily go on thinking I'm pregnant, until my first scan.
At the moment, I have had some blood taken at the doctor's surgery and these tests have come back with everything fine except that I have high glucose readings. I have to return on Friday 22nd August to have another test. As well as this on Monday 25th August I have to attend the pre-pregnancy clinic at our maternity hospital for some tests. I don't know what this will involve, so I have to wait til I get there.
Emotionally I'm a crack-pot! However I have managed to return to work, albeit short hours and weeks at the moment, but it's a positive move.
So get in touch if you'd like to chat....... - all my blogs are there if you want the full details.

Today I went to the pre-pregnancy clinic to get some bloods done. She told me straight away that my second miscarriage was caused by a Molar Pregnancy. To be honest she told me a whole lot of other things too, but basically you can look on www.molarpregnancy.co.uk if you'd like to know more. Too much info to try to put on here. She also told me first miscarriage was caused by abnormal chromosomes and that both are not connected. Contact me if are interested in knowing anything more. In the meantime I am advised not to try to conceive anytime within the next six months. Great!
