April 29th

Well, I have been a single mommy for a little over a week now. I am so tired all the time and have only been getting around 6 hours of sleep a night. I miss Brian terribly. I went to NC Saturday to pick up the car and drove home Sunday. Hannah stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. She had a good time. Brian and I had a very nice time together. It was nice to just cuddle.. we haven't done that in a while (having babies will do that!)

I had my 26 week check up yesterday. Sonora is doing great. We officially have an induction date of July 25th planned (day after my birthday) so that Brian can be there. After she is born, Brian will be with us for one week. In that week we (he, family, and friends) will pack up the house and we will all move to NC. If the house doesn't sell, I will have to find work up there until it is sold. Then I can be a home mommy! In the meantime, I am exhausted! I feel like I am running 24-7 and it never stops. I have 4 1/2 weeks of work left... I just keep my eye on the end and know I can make it.

April 21st

Brian left yesterday - I bawled my eyes out for a while. Then I told myself to knock it off because I didn't want to scare Hannah. She was just following me around looking confused as to what I was doing. I spent the rest of the day very busy! I finally went through all of Hannah's old clothes and organized them into sizes for Sonora.

Brian took our home computer so all I have now is my work computer. I don't know what I will do once school gets out (6 weeks!). Anyway.. back to work!

April 19th

Well this is the last day with my hubby! He is leaving for NC tomorrow morning. He is currently at the dump dropping off loads of junk! We have been so busy with trying to sell the house, boat, and car (we sold that in one day thankfully ... he gets a company car with his new job) that we have not had time to sit down and realize that he will be gone for many months! I will really miss him! I will see him next weekend ... I have to fly up there and then drive our car back down here. In the meantime, I will be borrowing my parents car. It will be nice to see the area we are going to live! I will really miss Florida also but I look forward to hiking in the mountains! I hope this house sells - then I can join him.

April 15th

Week 24! Sonora is moving quite a bit now! She definitely has awake and sleeping patterns ... about every 3-4 hours.

Last week was my spring break and Brian and I took a very needed mini-vacation. We dropped Hannah off at Grandma and Grandpa's picked up their RV and boat and went to the keys for 4 days. We spent two days fishing and getting some sun! It was great to get away from the stress of tring to sell the house and Brian leaving.

Today I am home with Hannah since she is sick. She has horrible diarihea (sp) and just cranky/whinney all day. She has slept most of the day so it hasn't been too bad.

April 7th

Life has officially gotten really crazy! Where to start.... Brian got the job in NC and will be leaving us (temporally) in two weeks (tear tear sob). We put our house on the market on Friday and spent all weekend busting tail cleaning/boxing/fixing/landscaping!! This is not an easy task with three dogs and a one year old following you everywhere. Today I was outside replacing one of our screens on the screened porch and I look over and Hannah is standing in the dog water stomping and playing in the water!! It was so funny I had to take pictures (I know some you other mommies probably think that was gross - not me though.. just plain funny!) Brian found an apartment up in NC that would allow a month to month lease so we are super happy about that! I really hope our house sells and I am able to move up right after Sonora is born.

Let's see - baby is moving quite a bit now. I really enjoy feeling her. Can't wait to see her beautiful face! I am really curious to see who she looks like. Hannah looks exactly like her daddy. I would be neat if Sonora looks like me. Because my teaching insurance runs out July 31st and Brian will be away - my doc has said she has no problem inducing me so that we will be 1. Brian can be there and 2. we are covered by insurance.

Alright back to work!

March 30th

Hannah had her 1st birthday party yesterday!! We had about 10 people over to celebrate. She had a great time - finally opened her own gifts! She got a little baby pool so we went out today "swimming" (a nice luxary we have in Florida - swimming in winter/spring). I made her her own b-day cake. We thought she would tear into in her cake but once she got her hands dirty she started crying. She doesn't like to be dirty (I'm sure that will change).

Brian has a job interview this Wed. in North Carolina! So if he gets the job he will have to move up there. I will stay here until the baby is born (because of my work and insurance) and I also have to stay until our house sells. I really don't want to leave sunny Florida but he really hates it here and also the move will allow me to quit work and stay home with the girls. So, for me the benefits of moving outweight the cost of year long summer! I really hate cold though!

March 26th

Well... saw the doc today. She has me only gaining 16lbs. She was very happy about that until she saw that 10 of them were in the last 4 weeks! I love my doc. and she never really gets upset about weight. She just told me that is what my body wants to do. She always makes me feel better! Anyhoooo... heartbeat was 158 yea and my blood pressure was 94/50!

March 25th

Well - I am a bit upset today! I have been weighing in here at school every week since the start of this pregnancy! I am determined not to gain all the weight that I did with Hannah. Up to week 18 I gained 7lbs and since then I have gained 11 more!!! I am going to the doc. tomorrow and ask what I can do! I do not want to be a whale again! The weight is so hard to lose and I still haven't lost all the weight from Hannah! The only good news about the scale is that my percentage body fat (measured on the fancy school scale) has not increased. Oh welllllll.... joys of pregnancy!!

On a good note... I am feeling Sonora moving around a lot more! That part is fun!

March 20th

Well, another week has gone by! 21 weeks yea! This past week has been interesting! Lots of family drama - thankfully none of it has to do with us. It just seems that everyone is getting a divorce all of a sudden! I informed my sweet darling husband that he was not allowed to divorce me! HA HA! He jokes about it all the time now!

I am still not feeling baby girl move too much since the placenta is in front. I only feel her in the bottom left corner of my stomach. I kinda feel cheated out of that joy of pregnancy. I hope to feel more when she is bigger. We still have not settled on a name yet. Sonora seems to be the only contender right now.

Hannah has her first birthday next Saturday March 29th. I am planning a little family party with about 8 of us. She is growing up so fast! It's hard to imagine that one year ago she was just a little blob newborn (actually she was not born yet!). Now she is walking (running) and saying ah-oh all the time! She is tring to run so much that she fell yesterday and bit her lip giving her her first swollen split lip! Poor girl!!

Anyway... enough procrastinating ... back to work!

March 13th

It's a girl!! We couldn't be happier!! Brian was a little upset - not because we are expecting a girl but because he was so sure it was a boy and he hates to lose a bet to me! All is wonderful though! My mom called last night after I told her it was a girl and she suggested the name Hailey. We would then have Hannah and Hailey. I told her I didn't like the name. The more I thought about it... I do kinda like it. I told Brian and he said that we will keep looking. We have not thought about names AT ALL.

I also found out why I am not feeling the baby moving! The placenta is located right in front. I am very comforted to see her very active and squirming all around in there! My next check up is March 26th... until then.....

March 10th

A little bit about me! My name is Stephanie and I am a high school science teacher. My husband, Brian and I got married in May 2006 and 6 weeks later we were pregnant with our daughter Hannah! She has been the easiest and greatest change to our lives!! When she was 6 months old we got pregnant with this little bundle! Surprising - it was plannned. We were TTC for about 3 months with this one.

Well, 19 weeks has gone by!! I have had morning sickness followed by the flu-like nastiness for about a month! Now I finally feel GREAT!!! Even though I have been sick most of this pregnancy I have really enjoyed it! I will find out if we are expecting another girl or boy this Wednesday March 12th!! I can't wait! I am really hoping for another girl since I want three kids. My hubby is really wanting a boy since he only wants two kids!! Either way, life will be perfect! (OK not perfect - but pretty darn close!)

I am still not really feeling the baby move around but I am not letting it bother me! We have heard the heartbeat at each doc. visit so I am sure all is well. I am excited to see the little booger to make sure all is well though!

I just read your question, it could be that your baby had a growth spurt. By 20 weeks they weigh about a pound. Any way it will be ok, I am pregnant for the 5th time, this time I got twins and I have put on 20 pounds so far....it will be ok...and worth it in the end!!! Take care.

Jaclyn82 - Wednesday, 5 Mar
what r u eating???? hahaha i have such bad constipation!!!! Lucky you!

tiredmommy - Wednesday, 5 Mar
Thanks for your comments. It's nice to know I'm not alone in this. Actually, everyone seems to be getting really sick this year. It's just especially bad when you're preg! I just got over a bad sinus infection (possibly the flu) about 2 wks ago. My dr put me on an antibiotic and cough medicine. I am now trying plain Sudafed b/c I really don't want to get back on presc meds already. We'll see what happens! Thanks again! I hope you continue to feel well! Good luck w/ your preg!

missyny - Wednesday, 5 Mar
I have the opposite of constipation too! I think its the vitamins my Dr. has me on. They are called Ultra Prenate. They have DHA and a 'gentle' stool softener, which obviously works! lol! I'd rather have to go right away after eating than having tummy aches all the time. Ten minutes after I wake up in the morning too..ok TMI! Is that stuff in your vitamins too?

mommyof2princesses - Tuesday, 4 Mar
In my last two pregnancy's I developed an intollerance of dairy food. An hour after eating I get horrible cramps and it goes right thru me! Dr. thought I was strange when it happened last time and had no answers for me. I just have to stay away from ice cream and it is killing me!!!! Mine will last until a few weeks after I deliver. Hope your is short lived.

NikyGyrl - Tuesday, 4 Mar
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! It helped me relax about the whole idea of going through this painful miracle ;)

Wish me luck! And, thanks again!!!

I see. I guess that makes sense. If there's no suspicion of something wrong, why do more u/s than necessary, huh? Still kind of stinks- I'd love to be able to see/hear the baby whenever I want.

jag - Friday, 29 Feb
We're going in on March 11th. Hubby I think is hoping for a boy, I'm convinced it's a girl, but either way, as long as it is happy and healthy! Will let you know when we find ut!

jag - Friday, 29 Feb
I think that maybe we may do it the other way round... let the 2nd baby be the suprise! I am getting so excited now that we are going to find out the sex! When do you find out?

JennReedy - Friday, 29 Feb
Thank you so much for your comment. We were able to see the heart beat, even at 6 weeks =) So you had a u/s at 8 weeks, and the next one is at 20? Wow! Why do they space them out like that? I'm sure when I go to my next appt. (wk 12), they'll do a doppler. I just don't understand why they space the u/s out like that. Anyway, thanks for being so reassuring, and congrats! Jenn =)

aville - Thursday, 28 Feb
Very good advice about the delivery. I think that i'll just play it by ear and see if i'm being comforted or stressed by her presence.

jellybean2008 - Thursday, 28 Feb
you are funny...we were convinced we were having a boy as well. I was wondering how could I relate to a boy since I am more acclimated to know what to do and how to be with a girl. The idea settled in and I was looking forward to a boy. This past Monday, we found out it is a girl. Shocker!!! You will be just fine. Once you see that little baby in your arms regardless of the gender, you will be in love and everything will fall into place naturally. Every child brings its own personality into the family.. You will be a great mom to this child either way. How do I know this? Because you already have shown concern. Enjoy and embrace your gift and leave any concerns to the side.

MommaD - Thursday, 28 Feb
I find out tomorrow! I'll let you know!

MommaD - Wednesday, 27 Feb
Don't feel bad. I want a boy so bad this time, I will honestly be devistating if it's a girl. I know that's bad, but I already have a girl. I'm tired of pink! Just kidding! I think I want it for my husband more than anything. He grew up with 4 sisters, so he REALLY wants a boy. He thinks he's doomed to be with women for the rest of his life!

jkakins86 - Wednesday, 27 Feb
Don't feel bad, I too realllly want a little girl and can't even begin to imagine raising a little boy :). I hope you get your little girl, but no worries cause you'll be ecstatic either way in the end :)

MelisaK - Wednesday, 27 Feb
Don't feel bad for the way you feel. It is a fear thing. I thought I would not be able to raise a boy but here I am raising 2 of them. They are great! I think it would be harder to raise girls.

Excited08 - Monday, 25 Feb
Thanks a ton, that makes me feel much better. Congratulations to you!

apreece - Friday, 22 Feb
Thanks for the comment! We are due the same day. That makes me feel better!

wedward - Friday, 22 Feb
My little boy's hb has been around 145-150 for a few weeks now.

nervousmommy2b - Thursday, 21 Feb
My boo heart beat is 167 when we clearly see that it's a boy. all babies are different

ohmama - Thursday, 21 Feb
Hey there, I think it is awesome that you can hear and see the space shuttle. You are very fortunate. The only thing I saw last night was the lunar eclipse. I live near Giant Stadium so I am VERY familiar with air traffic and noise pollution...it sucks. Lucky you...and congratulations!

kaf - Thursday, 21 Feb
