All good at the mo...had an OB appt today, she wants me to take an additional calcium supplement, flaxseed oil as well if I want to for the DHA. I have to check my BP every morning and night and take it in as a diary to my next visit...it `s always up a bit when I go to the office, but it `s low if anything at home! She `s talked about putting me on a low dose BP med at 30 weeks, but neither of us are keen on that at all, so I hope the diary shows what we want it to show! I need to take mylanta or zantac for the slight heartburn, but we `re both a bit paranoid after last time!! She couldn `t deliver me at the lovely hospital 2 miles down the road in an emergency, as she isn `t registered with them, so it looks like a trek of 10-20 miles to one of the hospitals she is affiliated with, in an emergency. It `s the 20 mile away hospital if all goes to plan. She `s going to send me to another clinic for another US after my next appt, to check on the baby `s growth, as the last clinic found that the cord wasn `t in the middle of the placenta, but out to the side, so she wants me to see a more specialized guy. I `ve also got my glucose test next appt (3 weeks). I have to write all of this down, or I `d forget it!!!!Tuesday, 4 Mar
OMG! I feel awful! My little boy got a cold/cough on Saturday and it hit me yesterday. This morning was the worst...all I wanted to do was sleep, but looking after a 2 1/2 year old is NOT conducive to sleep!!Thursday, 6 Mar

Had fetal growth survey ultrasound today and baby is fine! A healthy 2lbs 11ozs and gorgeous 4d pics!! But they found a cyst/tumor on my right ovary, the size of a golfball. As I `m 28 weeks the doc recommended removing it at the same time as a section. I guess I `m definately having another section then! I `ll have another scan in 6 weeks to see if/how the cyst is growing. If it `s not one thing it `s another! Everything else is pretty normal though...Friday, 28 Mar

Had a check up yesterday and, not surprizingly, blood pressure was up! Doc is worried and has prescribed a betablocker...not sure that I `m going to take it though! My BP is up due to the worry about this growth! I `m going to phone her today and get a referral to a gyn onc.

Went to see the gyn onc on Wednesday and he is lovely, even though we had to wait 3 hours to see him!! Try entertaining a 2 year old for 3 hours in a hospital waiting room!! He's pretty happy that it's benign, but won't know for sure until my c section, which is tentatively scheduled for June 5th. I go back to see him in 4 weeks, after I've had my next ultrasound. In some ways it would be nice if it had grown, so that they go in sooner, but then he'd said they may have to do a vertical incision if it has grown! That I definately want to avoid!!! Fingers crossed!

OB appointment today - all is still fine with BP. She just lectured me on my weight gain. 29lbs so far. I'm pretty happy as I'd put on 50 with my little boy by this stage!! I'm not allowed to eat white carbs after lunch and can only have one portion per day. She also wants me walking for 45 minutes per day. I asked if the 6 miles I did on Monday and the 5 yesterday were OK and she just laughed!! Back in 2 weeks for ultrasound, oncologist appointment and OB again...
Thursday, 8th May
I had my ultrasound on Tuesday and the tumor hasn't grown, it's surrounded by fatty tissue and the ultrasound doc thinks it's a dermoid. Saw the oncologist and my OB yesterday, they are happy to schedule the section and removal on June 5th, so 4 weeks today! I can be awake for the section, but they will then have to knock me out for the removal. They may or may not have to take the ovary, it depends on what he sees when he gets in there. So we're going to meet our baby VERY soon!
Monday, 19th May
What a 24 hours!!! I'm fine and have almost forgotten that I'm pregnant (if you can believe that at 36 weeks!!). But my little doggie developed leg weakness yesterday and underwent spinal surgery at 4am!!! Thankfully he made it through and the surgeon is happy with the outcome. He'll be in doggie hospital for another 4-6 days then will have to do physical therapy and aquatic therapy when he comes home. What with that and my section scheduled for 2 weeks time, my poor hubbie has got his work cut out!!!
Wednesday, 21st May
Well, I've finished work now!!!! And June 5th looms closer! I took my pre-admission forms to the hospital today and saw my OB who told me that my section is booked for 12.30, so I have to be there for 10am. 2 weeks to go:)
My dachsie is in the doggie hospital at the moment, recovering from spinal surgery - out of the blue on Sunday. My poor baby:(
Sunday, 25th May
Ok, so doggie is home!! Yeah:) But he has to be caged for 30 days - which he HATES!!! Barking as we speak! So, it's good practice for the newborn, as one of us has to be home with the dog at the mo, and the other is trying to keep the 2 year old entertained!! All good fun! 10 days to go to B'day:)
Saturday, 31st May
Went for OB appt on Wednesday and boys came with me as I really didn't feel too good and my blood pressure was up! OB wasn't too concerned, just said that I need to take the betablockers, which I've now started and feel SO much better!! She wanted to see me again yesterday, so I tootled in and she had been called into L&D. So I waited for 45 mins and then she told me (over the phone) just to up the dose until delivery - 5 days to go!!!
Wednesday, 4th June
Section tomorrow!! BP is still up, but think that's becase I'm anxious, excited and stressed!! Little dog had his staples out today and continues to improve. Can't wait to meet this new little one! My little boy, is going to be a big brother!!
Tuesday, 10th June
We're home!! All went really well last Thursday and IT'S A BOY!! Harvey Liam joined us via scheduled c section, although my OB reckoned he would have joined us of his own accord that day anyway, when they hooked me up to the monitors and saw the contractions. And there was me thinking they were Braxton Hicks!! Being awake for the surgery was certainly an experience, but my OB had said that I wouldn't get to cuddle the baby as they would have to sedate me for the tumor removal. However, they didn't have to sedate me and he was in my arms for the whole of the second part!! Great for taking my mind off things! All looked good from that point of view and they didn't have to do the frozen section or further staging or take the ovary!!! All good! So, hopefully that's the end of that. We get the pathology report in a few weeks, just to be sure. By the way, Harvey means ready for battle and Liam means protector. So you can see why we chose his names!! I got a total of 7 hours sleep in the hospital, over 3 nights, so came home early!! Little one's awake - write more soon!!!
Saturday, 14th June
I'm still on cloud nine and haven't stopped smiling. My blood pressure did start to go up a bit during the last week, and I had to start on some medication, but it came right down after delivery. I also had no other symptoms. However, my blood pressure got steadily higher since coming home and my OB is a bit worried. She has upped my medication and put me on partial bedrest. It is coming back down now, and still no other symptoms.
Sunday, 22nd June
BP is slowly settling and I'm starting to wean myself off the meds. Saw my OB on Friday and she was happy with my BP, wants me to walk more and lose the weight!! I've lost 16lbs since delivery. Then she phoned me later to say I had a UTI!!! More meds!! I've not started them, as I had no symptoms, but after doing some reading around it, I'm going to start them tonight! My boys continue to be fantastic!!!!
Sunday, 29th June
Harvey has been eating more, it's definately a growth spurt. We saw the pediatrician on Friday and he gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks!! I had my section on June 5th and am back walking, driving, lifting the baby in his carseat and lifting our 3 year old! In fact I feel so good, we went to Disneyland on Wednesday - just taking advantage of hubbie being off!

Harvey had his first job today - a very short nursery scene on the TV show Dexter!!!
Friday, 18th July
Little one started rolling over at 3 weeks old!!! I thought it was just a fluke at first, but he's been doing it ever since! I think he's going to be up and about before we know it. Our first son was 6 months before he rolled over (but he was 2 months preemie!). I feel like I've not had a tiny baby for very long this time, as Harvey is growing so fast - 6 weeks old already! WOW!!

Hi! Congrats to you too!! I love the name you've chosen, strong & classic. How are you feeling? I'm doing much better but still having a little pain. We've had to see the pediatrician a few times already to monitor Henry's weight gain. He dropped down to 5 pounds 12 ounces and then bounced back up but last week his weight was down again. I spent all weekend feeding him & supplementing with pumped breast milk & some formula and he's finally above his birth weight! Very relieved. How did it go with the oncologist? I hope all went well with the tumor removal. Enjoy your new little one! Keep in touch!

I am so glad to hear about a positive outcome. I am very happy for you. Went to Dr last week with no progress and I am still in the same boat. I have another appointment tomorrow but I am really hoping that there is some progress made today or through the night. *SMILE* I am getting a little discouraged, cause I haven't had any contractions. I guess we will wait and see. I would love to see pics by I know right now it's about mom and baby! SO, take care of yourself and I will let ya know when something decides to happen. LOL

Oh, my, I am SOOO glad to hear that everything went well for you. I love the name (and the meaning). He truley has a reason to be here doesn't he? YIkes, the whole idea of being awake during them cutting my stomach doesn't sound enticing at all. I am glad to hear that they were able to remove the tumor and that be it. All is well here too. I am anxioulsy awaiting this little one's arrival and curious to see how labor and delivery go. The weekend was a few days that I took for myself...Saturday didn't do much of anything, I have been so tired lately. Then yesterday, I cleaned from top to bottom on the house...I hope that it's the "nesting phase". Hehe! With my son, I water broke prior to any contrations or dilation. I am worried that I won't know when to go into the hospital. Take care and please let me know when your little one faced the world!! Take care!

Thanks for your encouragement! I am sorry to hear you have to have another section. Are they going to schedule it, or wait until you go into labor? Let me know! Michael is doing well. It is stressful and exciting to have a new baby around the house. I feel a bit lost as he is a preemie and won't develop like all other babies. He sleeps a lot, and goes back to sleep quickly after night feedings (thank goodness!) but when can I use the swing and the bouncy chair? Do you remember this concern with your baby? I guess I will start considering him like a newborn within the next week or so and start watching his development from there! It is really nice to talk to people who have been there before! Goos luck, and keep me posted on your progress!

Hey there! Yup - I'm done work, too. I'm happy because my sciatic back pain is nuts & I just can't move as fast as I want to & working those long shifts & caring for a 19 month old is so tiring! But on the other hand I'm sad because I worry about my patients (oncology) and hope their treatment goes ok, plus, another up and coming change!!!!!! A baby!!!!! how the hell are we going to do it all???????
Hubby is dragging his butt doing stuff around the house and our C-section date is 1 1/2 weeks away! I don't want to be rushing around the day before doing stuff, but it looks like it could be the way!!! Oh well, as long as baby boy is happy and healthy, I can't complain.
I've gained 21 pounds so far, but I have to go twice next week as I lost 4 pounds in a week, so back down to a weight gain of 17. Not sure why, no good reason. I feel fine and eat well like I normally do. Baby is moving a lot and heartbeat/rate is fine. But it'll be good to doublecheck on Monday that all is well!
I'm sorry about your doggie - is s/he okay??? Wow, that was the last thing you needed, hey? My yellow lab is my "firstborn son" - I'd be devastated if something was wrong with him!

Oh yeah, my C-Section is booked for 7:30am - first on the OR Slate. I think we have to be there at 6:00am. I've signed all of the OR stuff, just have to meet with the OR nurse and go over the "do's and don'ts" after the C-Section. I don't know about you, but it'll be good for my hubby to hear it from someone else! (ie. no lifting more than baby's weight/no vacuuming/no driving/etc.)

Everything is good with me...but I am only almost 15 weeks so if something is going to happen with the Hellp or Preeclampsia it wouldnt come on unti 3rd trimester! It is GREAT to hear that you are doing well...and especially with no signs of Hellp or Preeclampsia!! That is comforting to hear...maybe I wont get it again either!! Good luck with the tumor removal! I would rather have the contractions than get sick with Hellp or Preeclmpsia again..as long as you make it past 36-37 weeks you'll be fine...:0)
