I arrived @ the hospital @ 8:00 for my 9:00 induction, my Dr advised me to arrive early due to the fact of having to wait longer for a room. I was brought into my Labor & Delivery room @ 9:30 A.M. It took about 30 minutes to settle in and then I had to get an IV, boy oh boy wasn`t that fun. 1st nurse tried twice and no luck then she brought in a charge nurse who tried another 2 times and still no luck, finally they brought in a critical care nurse who got my IV in with no problems in no time. This took about an hour and left me with 5 pricks and 4 huge ass bruises.

So now it is 11:00 and they started my pitocin. My midwife came in @ about 11:15 and broke my water. I was 3 cm, 80 % effaced and he was still @ a minus 1 station. By 12:30 I was in quite a bit of pain but I wanted to hold out a bit longer before I got an epidural. I was slowly making progress. My baby was moving around so much that they couldn`t keep the external monitor on his heart rate so my Dr came in and put on an internal monitor directly on his head. A little while later they also put one to measure my contractions on the inside as well.

I ended up getting my epidural around 1:30 pm, I was really really in some pain by then. Of course you have to have contractions during the epidural process which sucks!! It was really kicking in around 2pm and I was feeling good. The Dr came in around 3pm and I was 5 cm, 90 % and the baby was at a 0 station. I tried to take a little nap but was awakend at 4:20 by the Dr who was checking me once again. I was 6cm, still 90% and at a plus 1 station.

10 minutes later, @ 4:30 I felt a lot of pressure on my bottom, I called for the Dr who checked me and I was 10 cm, fully effaced, and could see baby`s head. I was pushing. I can`t believe I went that quickly from 6-delivered. I pushed with 4 contractions and was holding my little boy @ 4:55 pm. He was so adorable I could not believe it. He had black hair and was 8 pounds 5 ounces, 20 and 1/2 inches long. He was just perfect! I fell in love again as soon as I laid my eyes on him. I <3 My Adrian :D

Monday Jan 28, 2008 MY DUE DATE !!

Nope, no baby yet! Went to the Dr today. 2 cm dialated, still @ 70% effaced, baby has finally decided to move down some and my cervix is extremly soft ( thanks to the evening primrose oil ). We are being induced tomorrow morning. Have to be @ the hospital @ 8:00. I can not believe that I have made it this far. I have gained a total of 46.5 pounds with this pregnancy, topping out at a whopping 195.5 lmao! My husband told me I better not reach 200, how you like that lol.

On another note, a good friend of mine who is 2 1/2 weeks behind me in pregnancy woke up this morning to her water breaking. Ain't that a bitch lol. 37 weeks and 5 days with her 1st and she goes before me. I guess my little guy is enjoying his womb service a bit too much :) Anyways I am very happy for her and her husband and can't wait to meet thier little boy. I think it's so funny that she delivered on my due date and I am delivering tomorrow. I will talk to everyone after my Adrian arrives :D ................. ( Pray for me )

Ok, so I just wanted to give everyone an update of my symptoms and where we stand. Ever since I lost the majority of my mucus plug the other night I keep loosing a little more everyday. I bought one of those body balls and did a little bouncing last night, started to have pretty regular contractions and then boom, they went away. I prolly should have gotten back on the ball or went for a walk to keep them up but I was so tired I just wanted to go to bed. My emptions are running high, I feel like I'm on edge and I'm just so over all of this I feel like a basketcase. My stupid fridge broke last night, all of my food is sitting in a cooler and my landlord can't do anything until Tuesday, which mind you is the day I will be having my baby. I'm so pissed i had to vent somewhere. I don't want to have to worry about a fridge and how much $$ worth of food I'll have to be replacing when I should be concentrating on having my baby. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I can't wait till I deliver and for my emptions to settle back down again. I hope that happens soon. Until Monday.....

Induction : Yes ladies, I just got the phone call, I am scheduled for my induction on Tuesday Jan 29th @ 9:00 A.M. I will be 40 Weeks and 1 Day then. Let's hope I can do it on my own before Tuesday. Keep your fingies crossed :)

OMG! Am I ever going to get good news :( I am sorry for sounding so bummed but to be honest I am. I guess as you get closer and closer to the end of your pregnancy not only do you become more anxious but also more uncomfortable. This week I am fighting a cold so it super sucks.

Went to the Dr @ 11:30 today. I haven't gained any weight, everything on that end looks great. Baby is still up really high and does not want to come down. I am almost, ALMOST 2 centimeters dialated and still 70% effaced. As for those of you wondering about the whole stripping of membranes, the midwife did it today. Hurt like hell, very uncomfortable. Maybe it was worse for me because he is up so high. She also pulled my cervix down which hurt a little bit and was accompanied by a tad bit of blood. I cramped and contracted for about an hour after that, and that's it. Apparently I am now "favorable" for an induction and they are going to schedule one. I do not think I will get in this week but def by Monday of next week. She made me an appt @ her office next Monday but does not think I will make it to that appt. I hope she's right.

I asked her how come I had not lost my mucous plug yet and why it was taking me so long to dialate and she informed me that usually on our 3rd and 4th and so on pregnancies our bodies are so used to the transition that we won't show any signs until the end. When we go into labor everything will happen all at once. So, I guess I'm just waiting for my damn cervix to hurry the hell up and be ready lol. Until next week......(unless I deliver b-4 then)

Ok, so I am so so so so so anxious to go to the Dr tomorrow. I will be 39 weeks in about 19 minutes lmao. 1 more week to go, I can't believe it! We will see what happens. Hoping for @ least 2 cm lol.

Well today I am 38 Weeks and 4 Days. Still nothing going on. I am very anxious to go the Dr on Monday the 21st. I have been going for a 30 minute walk everynight trying to get the baby to drop a little more. I think he may have, I have been feeling his little body parts in different places than I had before. I've also been taking evening Primrose Oil tablets everynight before bed. Apparently midwives swear by these pills that they will "Ripen" your cervix. Help thin, shorten and dialate the cervix before labor. We will see. I know they will not "put me in labor" so to speak but if anything they are supposed to help shorten the length of labor. Never thought I would be saying this but..... I can't wait to get my membranes Stripped !!! lol. It's been a lonnnnnnnnnng week at work and I can't wait to take my maternity leave. Blah!
