My baby kicked for first time on Nov 26

my baby is real low in my belly and I have a lot of pressure on my hip, sometimes just walking hurts or getting up. my pubic bone often feels sore. I think its called pubic symphysis disorder.

Jan 5 third u/s revealed my little Melody

my baby's favorite kicking spot was my pubic bone. now she likes to punch and kcik at the same time.

Jan 11 -I started having contractions on saturday. still braxton hicks but a worse kind. an enduring and scary kind. They started while I was in lamaze/childbirth class. I was put on monitors that acknowledged the contractions and kept track of Mel's heartbeat. Im not dilated or anything. they gave me a shot of brethine to slow down the contractions. made me drink lots of fluids. gave me a brethine tablet then gave me one more shot. Once the contractions stopped for a while I was sent home with a prescription for Terbutaline (a generic of brethine) and put on bed rest for four weeks.

I went to the clinic today to check out a discharge I started having since yesterday. I had called about it but the hospital could do nothing about it over the phone and told me to head by the clinic today. I had a thick clear discharge and got worried that it could be the mucous plug but the midwives say its normal. everything else was good and I heard Mel dancing around my belly, she even got hiccups for a while.

It's been very scary but the midwife, who was so nice, told me to not worry. she said for me to come home and read baby magazines, which I love doing. so I trust Melody to make it to full term.

2-13 I only nested for two days, which I think may have contributed to my hospital trip. now I am on bedrest and I cant even do basic cleaning, like my room which I havent seen since friday. Mel slowed down a couple weeks ago but now she moves more than ever, I am convinced that she is now more aware of sounds and lights around her. I havent felt BH since monday.

3-11 Off of bedrest but I am still taking it easy. I want Melody to stay in there as long as she can. the time will help both of us to get ready. I have not gotten anything done in my room, slowly I am going to pull everything together. Hopefully she will stay full term and I can get everything set up and done. at first I was frustrated about not being able to get to work, I have to rearrange my room, finish buying the things I needs, wash the clothes and pack a hospital bag. I dont worry about it anymore, just taking it easy.

My shower was on saturday. it was a lot of fun and should have been just a litlle bit shorter. it started at 3 like it was supposed to and was def over at 6:30. there was lots of food which is all I wanted. most of my friends came, a lot of my family didn't but I am glad with the way everything turned out. we had music, really fun games and lots of gifts. we even had a time just for everyone to take pictures with me and Mel, lol. my friend made some adorable keepsakes and another friend brought a cake, which I didnt even taste. I was a picky eater for some reason. I did do a little bit of controlling. I was uncomfortable sitting in that big crazy chair. I sorted through the gifts on sunday. sometimes I was more excited about the gifts that I didnt register for, they were nice surprises.

3-23 Melody is now putting a lot of pressure on my ribs and chest. I am sleeping longer than I have in 8 months but I am still very tired in the day. This is probably the groggiest part of my pregnancy. Im in no rush to deliver but if Mel wants to come out she is free to do so at any moment now, lol. I let her know that from time to time. Im still not done the room and I have a feeling I will still be setting up after she is here. or maybe these last weeks will provide enough time... if only I could find the energy.

4-10 The midwives are worried that Melody might not be gaining enough weight. I had an u/s on the 2nd and I am going back on tuesday. If she is not then they are gonna send me into delivery. if she is and everything is fine then they will let me wait till saturday, my due date. I am hoping she is alright but I trust God will protect us no matter what happens. Had my hospital bag packed from saturday. did a little extra shopping tonight, but the nursery has been ready since last week. shopping for baby helps cheer me up ^_^ Im gonna pack my moms bag cuz she is gonna go with me, whenever I go.

4-11 I'm starting to get anxious. everytime I use the bathroom(like every 30 mins) I hope that my water breaks. I didnt want to rush Melody... but I dont want them to induce me. checking out ways to induce at home.

4-15 Its 3 24AM where I am and I am very tired. I went to bed about 11 but I just couldnt fall asleep. then the contractions(whether bh or real) are getting stronger and now I am getting like period cramps. Ive been going to the bathroom like every hour. I dont know whats going on but for the first time my pregnancy is real uncomfortable! I gotta get up early to go for an ultrasound, I wonder if Im just anxious about that and thats why I cant sleep, or it could be having to pee all the time, or the contractions which are now pulling my entre stomach. they dont really hurt they just make me feel like my body's being pulled in half.

I imagined I would go well past my due date, since its my first and all. Hopefully I wont get an induction tomorrow, but Im starting to feel like Melody will be making her way out soon enough.
