Dear friends

I have made an online 'pregnancy loss and support' survey and would be extremely thankful for anyone taking the time to answer it. My aim is to use the information to create a pamphlet that will equip friends and family to be more supportive after a pregnancy loss.

http://www.esurveyspro.com/Survey.aspx?id=0bdea02b-43a0-45fd-9a59-a54cbf0d4442

Please forward this to any of your friends who you think might be able to help.

Thanks again.

Love,
Karin

Dear friends, first my apologies for not responding to any of your messages the last few days. Life has been very hectic lately and by now I have 62 messages waiting for me

Anyway, wanted to let you all know I had my ultrasound yesterday. The doctor did an internal one and everything looked fine so I was very relieved. I am so glad I got it done. My lining looked normal and he could tell I had ovulated from my left ovary a few days ago, just like I thought. It is just nice to get confirmed there is nothing bad left in there and all seems to be working normally.

Also wanted to let you know I had my first acupuncture appointment on Saturday. The lady specializes in infertility and has a very high success rate. She basically explained that we need to regulate the blood flow, the hormones and nerves and that will increase the health of my eggs and make my uterus lining stronger. A few of you have asked if it hurt. The answer is yes! I didn't expect that and so was quite surprised. The needles are so thin it is hard to imagine they would cause any pain but one in my left foot hurt the whole 10 min the treatment lasted. She told me afterwards that is the area connected to conception (she used other words though) and that it is 'good' that it is hurting. It means there is something off balance and it needs fixing so we are on the right track. It was overall a good experience, not weird in any way.

Again, thanks for all the messages I have received lately and sorry I haven't responded yet. I am working on it

Love,
Karin

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Sx

Dear friends, I just wanted to let you all know that I had my doctor appointment yesterday. It was rather disappointing. He didn't consider my cycles unusual even though they are unusual for me. I asked if there is anything that can be done to increase my fertility and he said he doesn't think I have fertility issues being I have been able to get pregnant... The only thing I got out of it and only because I kept pushing is an ultrasound referral just to make sure nothing bad is left in there. He was otherwise so non-caring and I left rather depressed. The hospital has even send him personal letters about what happened with me and our baby and about future treatments and he has never read a single one.

Okay, just had to vent!

Hope you are all well.
Love,
Karin

Dear friends, I just wanted to update you and let you all know that this wasn't my month. Even though I have tried to be more relaxed about it all this month it is still hard not to be disappointed when there is nothing you want more than to be pregnant. I sure wonder if it will ever happen! I also wonder if I should see a doctor about my cycles. I have had 5 cycles since the loss and they have all been irregular (both in length and amount of bleeding). If anyone has any advice or experience, I would appreciate it. Should I see a doctor or just give it more time? Anyway, hope you are all well.

Love,
Karin

We are doing great...well, except for Jordan has a gassy tummy today, and I cannot seem to get her happy despite the meds. I cannot figure out what on earth I ate that has done this! Sniff, sniff. I feel so badly! I know to avoid coleslaw like the plague now after eating out the other day! Stupid me didn't even think about the cabbage in it, and she paid for my stupidty. Thank goodness babies are so forgiving!

I think Jordan looks like Hubby, too! He can't see it 'though. Haha! Can you believe our girls are about to be 3 months old?! Yikes! Time is flying way too fast.

So how are you doing? Getting any sleep yet?

happymomma2be - Sunday, 7 September

Hiya Guys I'm soooo sorry i haven't been on the net long enough to type a message it's just i've been flat out with all sorts of things to do with our new home (which we are told hand over is in three weeks Yay!!!!!!!!!! ) that is when i'm not feeding or changing or just gazing at little Lauren as she can really gobble up the time in such a fun way. I've also been going to Mums and Bubs physio session in the pool which is fantastic and then joineda local mother's group which is also invaluable. But I have missed hearing how you are all going... too busy choosing paint colours, blinds and carpets but I will make more of an effort I promise well I think I might have a read of some of the new comments around and see if anyone has any tips on encouraging sleeps for more than 40 minutes, sleeping through the night and how to reduce vomiting all priority issues with Lauren at the moment. Well all the best and stay in touch luv Kel

sandj - Wednesday, 30 July
Thanks. Congrats to you also. Good to see that we both had fairly quick labours :) I guess the more kids you have, the easier it gets. But THAT'S IT for me now. I'm getting too old for this round the clock, time consuming newborn stage LOL ;)

I only pump my son was not good at layching on so I pump about 5 or 6 time a day. My morning pump I get about 10oz between both then for the rest of the day i get about 5oz for both each time I pump.

foxymama - Wednesday, 23 July
I bought an electric pump and works crappy I was only get an oz so I started to express instead and I got 4 oz from both, I hear manual pumps and better too.

happymomma2be - Tuesday, 15 July
Awwwwww...she's beautiful!! What a doll! Seems like we are all having some beautiful looking babies!

Wow, you can give baths when the umblical cord stump is still on? They won't let us do that here until it falls off and the belly button is completely healed. We only are supposed to give sponge baths, which are awkward! Argh! Jordan's is almost healed, so we'll have a REAL bath soon. Funny, how different countries have different medical practices! LOL!!
