What you are feeling is called Braxton Hicks. Very, very normal. This is your uterus 'practising' and getting toned up. Nothing to worry about at all
If you are concerned, just lie down for a while. They will stop.

hi,

i have that same thing happening. the tightening up in the stomache. im carrying twins and have an incompetent cervix so im seen by a perinatologist, so he has be in a preterm birth prevention program. on thursday i told them about what i was feeling and if it was my baby moving and rolling itself along my stomache wall. they said, no those are contractions. braxton hicks. ask your doc about them. my doc prescribed me procardia to relax the muscles. good luck.

Hay sweetie, dont worry about it i've been on bedrest & everytime Pete caught me in the office he shouted so i havnt been on either. Any how feeling much better now. So Greece i'm so jelouse i would of saids you could have fitted me in a small holdall but since being pregnant i resemble a weeble..... Much luv hunny xxxxxxxx

Hi girls thank you everyone for your concern, I'm sure you read my comment this morning and heres the news.......I went to my u/s with my hubby, kids and bff and everything is ok, my cervix is closed and measuring 4.7 cm or whatever they calculate (which is in normal range), the baby weighs 12 oz ( a can of pop, lol), h/r 154 bpm and I am measuring 20 weeks 3 days, but my due date will remain the same. Heres the big news..........................ITS A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Omg he is so cute and we saw him swallowing the anmniotic fluid and he was kicking and moving all around. I was in tears and my husband was so proud! I got pictures and a mini video on a dvd that my hubby and I are going to look at later when he comes home from work. I am so excited! The u/s tech told me not to worry about the spotting since my cervix looks good. Also, we did not get the afp test as most of you know , but the u/s confirmed that the baby is healthy. Sorry to update everyone so late but I spent the day at my bff's house, but I'm home now. Thank you all for your concern; I had 15 messages waiting for me. Hugs..Christina

my scan is on 7th july,but that will make me 20wks 4days i tryed phoning today c if they could move me forwards but the lady said u should b 20wks i dont no now.i am 19wks tomo(thurs)xx

eeeee congratulations!! how sure were they? they can never say 100% just incase can they but some they are more certain of than others??!! ah bless i bet Jacob is happy thinking of all the mischief they'll get into together!!

scans on Monday, having second thoughts now about finding out so hoping they actually cant tell us then i have no choice!! xxx
