You can feed on a schedule to a certain extent. That is the goal. But there will be times where your baby just doesn't cooperate and won't get a full belly. At the beginning, you will be feeding your baby during the night. If you give the baby her last feeding at 11:00 and she gets full, she will still be waking up around 2-3 am for another feeding. It's really hard to stick to the schedule at night b/c you're tired and it's much easier to pop out the breast and feed to get the baby back to sleep. But if you know she's full during her last feeding at 11 and wakes up at 12, I'd do other things to soothe her than feeding. It's hard when you're tired, but it'll pay off for you and baby. One thing that's important too is not letting them fall asleep while eating. And if they do, wake them up and play with them before you actually put them to bed. That way they learn when it's feeding time, play time, and bed time. I learned these tips from my sister in-law who has twin baby boys and she has them both on a strict feeding/sleeping schedule and she's happy and rested and her boys are too. Get the book "Baby Wise" to read and it will help you. I got mine at Walmart for like $7. Great book. Some people may think that schedule feeding is cruel, but in my opinion it is better for everyone in the family.

Definitely on demand. Scheduling your baby to eat may not be the best thing because babies eat what they need as they grow.. he/she will tell you exactly when food is needed to accompany their needs. Besides.. can you imagine NOT feeding when they cried for it?? Oh my goodness!!! It would break my heart... Congrats!

I prefer schedule feeding. The key to feeding is to make sure that your baby gets a full feeding. It's hard at first b/c they're so sleepy. You may have to tickle their feet or even change their diaper. If you get a full feeding in, they should be full for about 4 hours. If they're just snacking, you will wear yourself out feeding all day long.

Go cotton all the way. Polyester is not a good fabric for babies.

Hello! In my second pregnancy I failed my one hour glucose test but passed my three hour one. So it is possible. In my first pregnancy I failed both but was never put on insulin, just a very strict diet. There is hope for you...God Bless!!

Hi there, low hemoglobin count is not half as bad for the baby as it is for you. the growing baby places an additional demand on your body for iron. There are hardly any babies born that are low on iron though many mom's deplete their stores of iron. the baby gets first cut of all the reserves your body has. so.. you need to replenish your own reserves so it holds you in good stead in the days to come. dont orry about the baby. eat lots of green leafy vegetables and take a supplement if need be. you will be surprised to know how many of us pregnant women turn anaemic during these 9 months. cheer up.

Seems like our situations are alike. Neither mine nor my husband's parents are in U.S. and we probably won't have a baby shower either. However, we did the online registry at BRU so that we could organize ourselves and also give chance to our friends if they choose to gift. I thought BRU's website was great... Good luck with your pregnancy.

I plan to have a 4D ultrasound around mid May.. My doctor charges $125 to do that ultrasound.. My other ultrasounds were covered by insurance.. My doctors office also burn the 4D ultrasound onto a CD for us to keep and share with family and friends.. They recommend having it done between 28 and 32 weeks while the baby has some room to move still.

I have to pay for my 3D/4D ultrasound. I live in the DFW area and googled it and found a wealth of places. I am going for a 15 minute session, with DVD and 3 print outs for $115. Regulary $175...
