so my husband and I are having our second child...Elina, our first beautiful and spunky little girl...well she came unexpectedly while I was on birth control. So our plans changed a bit and I became a stay at home mom a bit earlier than planned. She was born Sept. 10, 2006. This little one in my belly now was neither planned nor unplanned...I just ran out of birth control and both my husband and I were a bit lazy in going to the pharmacy to refill my prescription for about 2 months...we finally took our honeymoon (we were married February 4th, 2006...found out Elina was coming 3 days before the wedding) and came home pregnant.
Before I was pregnant with Elina I was 125 pds. (5 ' 4")... just before she was born...203 pds. UGH!!! And that was with healthy eating and exercising. I'm starting this pregnancy still a little "overweight" at 155 pds. but in healthy standards I suppose. I'm really hoping not to put on tons of weight again but if we have a healthy baby, then that's really all that matters.
We are so so so excited, of course a little worried about finances...but then again, who isn't. At least both of our little ones will be close in age and hopefully best of friends. I really wouldn't mind a little prince this time around but another princess would be just a fantastic!!!

I had my 13 week checkup yesterday. I got to hear the little munchkins heartbeat...159/bpm. Everything went well, it was the quickest appointment I think I've ever had. To my very happy surmise...I've only gained 2 pds. Maybe I'll be able to keep up this very slow weight gain throughout the whole pregnancy, that would certainly be wonderful. My husband couldn't make the appointment as he works nights in the Air Force so I recorded the heartbeat on my phone. The doctor found it really quick, she seemed a bit surprised by that. The baby was also higher than she expected. Well, go figure, I am already showing considerably and this is my second baby. Anyhow, happy baby thoughts now hearing that really strong and steady heartbeat. My next appt. is the 18th of Nov and then soon after that I schedule the big and revealing ultrasound. YAYAYAYAYA~

Update: 14 November 2007 Soooo...yesterday was a very hormonal and very bad day for me. I'm not going into detail about everything cause it'll just tick me off again. But, I did have a doctor's appt. yesterday and almost all went well. I'ver only gained 3 pds. so far this entire pregnancy, Thank you so much doc for telling me to be on the South Beach regimen...it has saved me hugely so far. My blood pressure was fine, the baby's heart beat was 159. The technician said the baby's heart beat should be between 120-and 160 but that it's always high in the early stages of pregnancy so not to worry. I wasn't really concerned at all until she said that as I thought that was a normal heartbeat. Then I had blood work done to test for cystic fibrosis...and then I went to Radiology to shedule my ultrasound. And they HAD NO APPOINTMENTS!!!! My heart almost stopped. You can't tell a pregnant woman that! They wanted to refer me to either Walter Reed Army Hospital or Bethesda Naval Hospital...which are both wonderful hospitals, better than mine in fact. My daughter was born at Bethesda and I loved my experience there...but it is REALLY REALLY REALLY far from my house. Anyways...after a few phone calls, I'm going to a civilian imaging center next Tuesday for my ultrasound. And even though I was initially upset about all this as it takes weeks to schedule anything with the military, this appointment is so soon!!! AND I GET A 3-D ULTRASOUND NOW!!! That's something the military doesn't do for you. So yay for me. I'm much happier now. I hope this baby spread eagles for us!!! I'm so excited!!!
20 Nov 2007: the official results are in...we're having a BOY!!!!
