Hello,

I'm happily married to my husband Danny. We have a 5 year old daughter. I'm pregnant about 16 weeks now. We are sooo excited about this and so is our daughter. I'm a stay at home mom. I just donated my hair to locks of love so this is the most recent picture of me. Now my daugther wants to donate her hair. Daddy loves her long hair so we will see about cutting it. Well, we cut my daughters hair and she loves it short. We donated 12inches to locks of love. Well, good luck to all of you and God Bless. It is such a blessing to have a baby. We find will find out the sex of the baby very soon.

Absolutely take your little girl to the shower! I have a little boy about the same age and I've tried to include him in as much as I possibly can with the pregnancy of this one (also a boy!)
It's a big, life changing thing for them too and (I'm hoping) that if I involve him as much as possible, he won't get his nose out of joint quite so much when his little brother gets here...
Good Luck!

I think your daughter should definitely come with you to the shower. Don't let your friends boss you around. It'd be such a fun thing for your daughter to attend.

It's all a trick - ever notice how this site seems to compress photos. My original photo is much plumper! But it sure was nice to wear a bathing suit and not have to worry about sucking in my belly.

Hi, I definately think you should let your daughter be a part of your shower. She's going to be the big sister and should not be left out. It's great that your mom will be there and she has offered to help out keeping an eye on her. Congrats and have a great shower.

breezee - Wednesday, 16 Jan
Hey, I think you should definitely take your daughter to your shower, she's old enough to participate, and after all it is her little sister so why would she not be involved?

makingroomfor3 - Wednesday, 16 Jan
I think that as long as the friend who is throwing the shower doesn't mind that your wanting to bring your daughter than why not. It's not up to everyone else, it should be a decision between you and the host.

Don't worry about the glucose test. There are different tests that require different things. I didn't have to fast for mine. I don't think it's a big deal for that first one. It becomes a bigger deal if you fail and have to do the long 3 hour test. That requires more work. I think a lot of women on this site are doing the 3 hour test, so don't let it freak you out.

Someone told me that massage can stimulate contractions. Is it ok to have done now? I would LOVE it!

Hi, I have a lady I've gone to for many years. She used to be a physical therapist as well and she's the one who really helped me out with my back doing the massage at the hospital. Then she opened her own massage therapy practice and stopped working in physical therapy at the hospital. The thing is she doesn't have one of those tables and the last time I went was in November and she thought it was OK to still be on my stomach to work on my back. After the massage, I got a lot of cramps/contractions and was kind of worried that maybe it was the massage that did it. She'd mentioned when I go again staying on my side, but I've kind of been afraid to go again! Yet it's so relaxing. I thought maybe if someone had done one with one of those special tables that the result might be different, but maybe it's OK with all of the pillows like you describe. I think even if I just sat in a chair or something, anything would be better than nothing. And like that one girl described, that it felt good during, but then the pain came back later, I've experienced that too, but it is still so calming, relaxing, and she is a really nice lady so it could do some good. I guess better to go back to her than to find a pregnancy massage place that has the right kind of table, but doesn't know my back was well.

Hi there, I'm going to look up that pillow you suggested and see the shape of it. I got my snoogle pillow on Wednesday night when we went to register. That night I slept so well and so long. I still have to have more pillows elevating me and I had to put one down by my legs still, but it was a huge improvement. Wish it hadn't been so expensive, but I'd gotten to the point where I would pay any price to wake up feeling well rested and without pain. I also finally cleaned up our bedroom and my husband vacuumed, so he stopped asking about the condition of our bed and bedroom! Hope you're feeling well today.

Sorry you are feeling horrible :(. I have been doing okay. My husband has been nothing less than a challenge at times, but we are dealing. He doesn't do well with change. One day is great, the next is not so great but we are managing. Trying to get some last minutes touches going before the baby. I haven't even started working on the nursery!

Hi there, I suffered really bad carpel tunnel syndrome in one of my hands in my first pregnancy and mildly in the other. My midwife recommended I wear a wrist support to keep my hand straight. That is what you need to do. I wore it ALWAYS to bed, which really helped when i woke up in the morning, it felt good. And if it got more severe I wore the suppport most of the day too. I have to highly recommend it, it worked for me. I haven't had any problem with it(as yet, touch wood) and hoping I don't for the rest of this pregnancy. Hope that might help you. Take care and happy new year

Hey there, I see you are having another little girl.. .me too! I'm very excited. I love having a daughter. lol. How are things lately? I can't believe we have 3ish months to go... time seems to be flying. Are you all ready for baby? I am about half way there. I forgot there was so much to do/buy/prepare for.... it's been awhile! lol.. Take care!

mommyinthesky - Tuesday, 1 Jan
Hi, Thanks for the message. You're about the same age I am. Maybe our discomfort has something to do with that. I don't know. I hope you feel better and if you come up with some kind of sleeping tips, let me know. I have so many pillows in our bed and feel like I need them all to stay even a little comfortable. Congratulations on another little girl! It's very fun to have a sister and it's neat that your daughter is excited to be a big sister. Everyone calls my dad Sal because our last name was Salazar. I almost made Salazar the middle name.

ha ha ha, i know you wish they would move that c-sect date up a couple wks.

sickasadog - Tuesday, 1 Jan
saw your post. I am with you with not being able to get comfortable and having swelling already. this is my third and my worst. i am miserable and just counting each day toward giving birth. I am thrilled to be pregnant, but not having the most fun this go round. ha ha ha I hope you feel better. Maybe you can push on your tummy to get the baby to move off of your pressure point.

babyat39 - Thursday, 27 Dec
Hi! I saw your post about the numb fingers and hands. Some pregnant women have this and they are able to shake their hands free of it. Others, like me, have what's called pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel syndrome. My fingers(except for my pinkys) have been numb and the palms of my hands for about a month now. They recommend a splint to be worn. It is due to the extra volume of fluid in the body and it puts pressure on the medial nerve in the wrist-supposed to go away after delivery or shortly thereafter. I have it and I noticed that Beachedmom also has it.

heatherhul - Thursday, 27 Dec
Hi! I read your comment about your hands going numb.....YES, mine are too...even in the morning I go to take a shower and put my makeup on and when I have my arm raised to my face I can feel it tingling...I dislike that feeling, I was just asking someone about it and if it is normal, so it was nice to read your comment! Hopefully it doesn't last long tho!!

Hi there, hope you are doing well. I posted a picture of myself at 22 weeks. Still don't have a huge belly. :) I am enjoying this time. Have been buying lots of cute stuff. How are you doing?

niseybear - Tuesday, 11 Dec
Thanks! Sleep is okay. It gets hard when he cries between 1-5 in the am, but I'm making it. The breastfeeding on the other hand is HARD. My left nipple hurts so bad, I cry everytime he's done nursing. The right one is sore too, but not as much. I don't want to bottle feed, but I can't be in pain when I feed my child...it's not supposed to be like that. I left a message with a lactation consultant I talked too and I sure hope she can help...I'm really at a loss. How are you?

May - Friday, 5 Oct
I am so happy that you do not feel sick anymore. I am at my thrid to and I still get sick every morning.

niseybear - Friday, 5 Oct
I updated my photo page with a few pics! It's not everything, but it's an idea of how generous some have been already. I did buy a few things.

I appreciate your prayers...thanks. I got the info back thanks to some ladies who know their stuff about google. I googled my name and it pulled up the website and then I used the cache link which was about 4 days old and it had all my stuff on it minus one entry. YEA. Anyway, thanks again.
