Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride

My Story:

Hello All......I am a 31 year old mother of three! I have been blessed with a beautiful 11 year old (biological) daughter from a previous marriage as well as two step-children from my current marriage (a 6 year old boy and a 7 year old girl)....and now expecting our first together. Needless to say...we are always busy, busy, busy.

Thank you to all who have left me the positive messages!!! It really helps to know other ladies have gone through similar situations and can share advice and well wishes!!! Baby dust to all of you TTC'ers and congrats to those who have conceived and are sharing their nine month journeys and beyond!

So I talked to one of my friends at work last night. I guess 4D is time, so instead of just a picture like you'd get in 3D, you get a video. She surprised her Mom and bought a package when her baby was 30 or 32 weeks. I guess the places have huge TV screens and you get to watch your baby move. She said it was so fun because they giggled at all of his expressions and little moves he would make. Sounds pretty cool and really, a once in a lifetime opportunity to see and video your baby in such an amazing way before it's born. YAY!

So far I've gained 6 lbs with this pregnancy. They told me I should gain around 25 lbs or so total, but yesterday they said the weight I've gained is fine. I don't know if I'll gain the 25 in the end, but it depends how much she wants to grow, I guess! I've noticed ever since the ultrasound, my uterus has been kind of sore. I think they were pressing pretty hard and that probably why the baby was so active during it. On our dvd they gave is at one point she turned her head to the side and you can tell it was right where they were pressing. Kind of cute to look at but I'm sure she was rather annoyed at the time.

Congrats on the girl!!!! I went for my one and only u/s last Wed and they did a 4D one. I was surprised because I thought it would just be a regular one. My insurance paid for it, too. But they only pay for one unless there is a medical emergency later on down the road. I was on my first day in week 18 when they did it and I was in the room for almost a full hour. They did her measurements and everything with just me in the room and then my husband and mom and mom-in-law came in to see her. The pics are amazing! I haven't put them up yet but I will soon!

Hi my scan was only �65 to find out what sex the baby is. best wks to have these is between 24 and 28 (i think) although they are alot more expensive then, and you usually get a dvd as well. i cant wait to have another at 28 wks.

Thanks! Actually, this is my first, but my husband's second daughter. I am happy to finally start showing, but now I'm waiting to be able to feel movement! Many ladies have felt their babies move by now and during the ultrasound she was moving all over the place, but I couldn't feel a thing. Do you remember when you first felt movement with your first?

I'm not sure about the 3D/4D. The 3D pictures were a little creepy, but I've heard if you wait until your baby has some fat (30 weeks) it's supposed to be pretty neat. Still deciding.....are you? I'd love to see some. :)

Awww congrats on ur little girl! I find out monday what i'm having. I keep telling people that as soon as i find out what i'm having i'm celebrating by buying my first baby thing. I can't wait! This week is dragging.

A girl!! Hooray!!!! Sounds like she listened to her Mommy!! I'm so excited you got to see your baby today!!!! We did too, kind of unexpectedly. I called the office to make sure the little contractions I felt were normal. Turns out they are, and I'll probably have Braxton Hicks the entire pregnancy, but because of my fibroids (which are thankfully nowhere near the placenta) they wanted to check me out. Everything is great, my cervix is closed and long (hooray) and no big deal. Got to see the pumpkin - yay!! The pics are funny because it looks like he's totally flexing his muscles.
I'm so glad about your little princess and she sounds like a mellow little sweetheart!
