I'm loving this
site! I feel slightly neurotic at times and it's great to know that
others are in the same boat! This is my first baby and pretty good timing. I'm
working on my PhD and my coursework is now officially over. Next
year I'll just be researching and writing - all from home with the new
little fella. We're even more excited now that he's here, though it is a HUGE adjustment. He's a really good baby and we are looking forward to watching him grow!! Welcome, Baby Beckett!

Tuesday, 22 July Just read your post about your little gulper. Hunter is the exact same. He gulps, then gets hiccups (he got them a lot when he was "on the inside" ) then gets air caught starts burping as well, and its all very upsetting - to us both. Last night he started added spitting up to the repetior and that sure freaked Mommy out. I dont really know what to do about it- dont think there really is anything we can do.

Tuesday, 22 July Hey there- I tried Mylicon too and it doesn't do anything to help my son with his gas pains...but there's a product called "gripe water" that works wonders so you might want to try that. The brand I bought is called "Baby Bliss". Also, I'm not sure if you bottle feed or not, but I switched to the Playtex drop-in bottles and they seem to have helped a lot as well...hope I helped a bit! Grace -
Tuesday, 22 July HI I read your post about nursing and i thought I might be able to help a little. I've noticed that when my son is wide awake and I'm sitting nursing him he does the same thing, but also I've noticed that when I'm in a relaxed position like lying down or in a recliner he drinks more calmly and there are less air bubbles, when he's relaxed enough to fall asleep then his nursing is more steady and he doesn't swallow air bubbles because of his hurry.
Good luck... littlemissi -
Tuesday, 22 July pump before you feed. but it needs to be less then an our before you feed, like 15-30 minutes before, because the breast will be full again by one hour. if that doesn't slow the milk down, try a nipple shield. one of it's reccomended purposes is to slow down the milk for babies that are nearly choking on the flow. hope that helps! :P veroki -
Thursday, 17 July she slept in bed with us last night as well, i didnt even try to put her in the bassinet b/c i was so tired i didnt want to deal with have to get up to get her again. i might go buy one of those co-sleeper things so i feel safer about it, but i still dont want to give in cause i dont want her in bed with us permanently, this sux b/c prior to having her it was a no brainer, there was no way i was letting her in my bed, and now i feel like a hypocrite... eulaha -
Thursday, 17 July I put my daughter (three weeks) in bed with me during the day, and we take our naps together! At night, she sleeps in her bassinett-I'm afraid her father will roll over on her ar night. veroki -

Monday, 14 July Thanks! I hope your dinner went well. We went to church (we were there about an hour and a half altogether) and she was great! I decided to skip the bbq in the afternoon, as I was tired and I thought she'd had enough excitement for one day, so my husband went alone.
But, we just went for a 45 minute walk in the stroller and that went really, really well. I was worried that she was going to get fussy 20 minutes down the road, but she pretty much slept the whole time. I'm a big walker so I'm going to take her out a few times a day if she's going to be so good! :o) mommy21206 -

Sunday, 13 July I like the Lansinoh ones - they are absorbant and the milk turns into a gel like substance and soaks in, as opposed to leaking all over the place. :) ddmom -

Saturday, 12 July My husband works offshore and we went out for a nice family dinner before he left. I checked with her dr and she gave us the ok. She slept through the whole thing, but she loves her carseat too. Also, we went at 11 before the big lunch rush to avoid a ton of strangers wanting to touch her. It was nice and she was 9 days old. Some would say too early but it worked for us. mommy21206 -
Saturday, 12 July We took Olivia out to dinner maybe a month after she was born and she was soo good, but your right timing was everything. And just make sure you have everything you need (bottles, extra bottles, pacifiers, wipes, diapers) and you'll be fine. cinnammonngirl -
Saturday, 12 July I was wondering the same thing! We have taken our daughter (12 days old) to his parent's house (she was great there, but cried the whole time back and forth in the car seat) for a short visit. We are planning on taking her to church tomorrow, and (for a short time) to a friend's cookout in the afternoon. I'm really kind of anxious that she is going to scream the whole time. I think I will have a bottle ready to give to her right before the service starts so hopefully she will sleep through it! :o) mama40 -
Saturday, 12 July Sounds like my baby. My husband always asks - is that normal the way he breathes? I asked the doctor and was told not to worry. But this is really frustrating - all this weezing, snorting, panting gasping etc. especially before falling asleep - he seem hyperventilating and cannot relax enough to fall asleep. This may go on for half an hour or even an hour. But he seems doing well, so I try just wait until he grows up a bit more. juliedue2008 -
Friday, 11 July that was happening to me.. I now (Xander is 12 weeks) I changed from bras.. to sports bra.. tight ones.. I wear two of them and sleep in the them and as soon as I started that I stopped with the crazy leaking.. I went to walmart and got 3 for ten bucks.. also.. I cut the one under the other one at the nipples so that when i pump I can pump hands free.. I put the "horns" in the holes... I pump 100%.. clarejustin -
Friday, 11 July I was really over producing in the begining too and i used the lasinoh breast pads and they work great and soak up sooo much. Before i started using them i was having to change my shirt a bunch of times a day too until i switched to the lasinoh ones. Mindieswan -
Monday, 7 July That's cute!! I hope she has a little bit of hair, but I highly doubt she will. Sometimes too much hair looks funny though..so maybe it's not such a bad thing if she is bald. haha. Mindieswan -
Monday, 7 July

Sunday, 6 July I am still waiting..I thought I was going to get some intense ones last night. They were all up in my back, then they stopped. Ugh.. Hoping to go in the next day or so, I don't really want to have to be induced. Keep you posted Mindieswan -
