The story of my pregnacy and labor all starts on the morning of my 18th, which is the day i belive i fell pregnant! it took until the end of june in 07 (2 weeks after my 18th) for me to have my first bout of morning sickness. I wasn't sure at first what caused me to be sick, I was at a party and i had been drinking so i thought it was just the alco disagreeing with me. Then the only other bout I had was in the first weeks of july when I had just gotten up had a quick coffee and a smoke and was going on a pretty bumby car ride to the neighboring town for a work meeting. I made it to just around the corner from our destination before i had to tell the driver to pull over and i was sick again. I thought thats a bit too coincidental and decided about a week later to get a DECENT preggo test cause i had been using some dodgy ones. So that night (July 9th 2007) i went to the toilet at home and took a test with me i was thinking 'no i can't be pregnant surely' i peed on the stick, midstream, which by the way is freaking hard to do...but any ways i sat there thinking whether i wanted to look or not, i waited to make sure my bladder was empty. then i got up got redressed and flushed (of course) still not looking then i washed my hands and decided to look. I saw one clear line ...and one faint line...i thought maybe it was just another faulty test but then after a doctors visit and a blood test it was confirmed...i was 4-5 wks preg. now for the most part it was a fantastic pregnancy i was a bit anaemic during it all but you get that. then i was decidedly getting larger and larger. I was looking at least 2 months more along then what i was. everyone thought i was gunna have twins but i assured them no i only have one bubby in my tummy. I was due to give birth on the 14th march according to my 1st ultrasound but mum and i both agreed that that was wrong. My gp however said that it was going to be the 10th March. I said the 6th of march. well getting into the last week of february I started feeling her trying to push through the sack. i had asked the midwives at 37 weeks about getting induced because of my health and she said no we won't induce you for another 5 weeks! then she measured me to be 40 weeks already. well anyways I went into labor on the day that my gp had predicted. It started at 1 am and i thought it was just indigestion or something so i went back to sleep. When i woke up at like 9:30 I was still cramping and thought well this is something that really dont agree with me...cause of course i was thinking that i was never gonna finish this pregnancy lol...then a had a show of waters and when it happened i was on this computer checking my emails like i do every morning. and when it happened i froze for like 2 minutes then quickly went to the toilet with a clean pair of nickers and a pad like the midwives had advised. i got my house mate out of bed with "mazza, its time" her response was, and i quote, " OH SHIT" i quickly called mum who half an hour earlier had left for work and told her to get back home cause my waters had broken, then mazza got onto an ambulance cause with my low iron we didnt wanna risk anything going wrong. it was 15 mins at most before mum got back and my fiance got home about 5 mins after that from a job interview than the ambos turned up. i grabbed my hospital bag and went with mum in the ambulance. on the 25 min trip to the hospital i had about 5 contractions and when i got there it was about 30 mins before my housemate and fiance arrived at the hospital, i was in agony by then....my contractions had jmpd from mild to extreme in about 15 mins....well mum told me it was like 2 hours actually but in those couple hours i had only dialated an extra 1 cm and bub was in distress so they had to rush me in for a c-section. they asked epi or GA and i told them straight out that i was going under. ad at 13:44 that afternoon I gave birth to a beautiful 9lb 1.5oz baby girl. Measuring 57cm and a HC of 37.5cm! unfortunately in the distress my bubby girl had inhaled some of the amniotic fluid which was apparently the color of molasses. it took me about an hour to wake up from the op and be put into my room ... i hadn't seen my girl yet and was gettin worried, because i had been told that she was being hand ventilated and then at about 10 ish they came in and told me it wasnt lookin good. they said that she might need to go down to Brizzy womans hospital. they told me they'd stabilize her then bring her in for me to see. at 3:30 the next morning she was brought in, in a humidi crib, with the dr that would take care of her. she was sleeping and absolutely gorgeous. when they left i broke down and cried. it was sad to see her like that. and it took 5 VERY LONG days before she came home. i was discharged on the friday before she came back. i then had to be re admittd for a observation thing with bubby. on the tuesday we finally came home. I love her everysecond of our lives and don't wanna miss a beat of it.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hey! I'm gettin along great! Not a sickness in sight (apart from that annoying thing where you're hungry but can't eat!)! I'm very impatient though - it takes too long! I just can't wait to be a mum, how bout you?
How come you'll know what sex it is soon? (it's illegal to tell us here in Scotland! tut) So which would you prefer? Boy or girl?
