I just turned 35 and this is our first baby! We had been (as my husband liked to put it) "not NOT trying" ;) since August 07. I was convinced I was pregnant every month except for December, the actual month we got pregnant!

It was Christmas eve, and I was doing my "routine" monthly test, while putting on my makeup to go out for a family Christmas dinner. I kept seeing the blinking hourglass out of the corner of my eye, and I almost walked out of the bathroom before I saw "Pregnant"! I couldnt believe it, and the first thought I had was "But I"m not a pregnant person!" (whatever that may mean!).

I have to believe that this had something to do with our dog, Loki, who was diagnosed with bone cancer in March of 2007. When we started "not not trying" in August, I remember thinking "I wont get pregnant while he's sick". I just knew that I needed to be 100% present for my current baby (he was 8 years old). Sadly, we had to put him down November 16th, the saddest day of my life! I was, and still, am reeling from his loss. But lo and behold, as I thought, we got pregnant right after! I still thank him every day for this blessing ;)

I actually have had very mild symptoms, thank god: sore boobs, hungry, thirsty, fatigue, lots of peeing, and the "beautiful" road map of blue veins on my chest (ugh)....NO nausea whatsoever! And very strange: I crave olives! I eat them as if they were chocolates, ha! Like they melt in my mouth almost - soooo weird, but funny!

I am looking forward to August 2008 - the month that our lives will change forever!

March 3 - just got the results from the amnio last week: HAVING A BABY GIRL!! My husband and I are ecstatic! Results say she is healthy, which, of course is the most important thing!

See how my baby is doing
