Hi, My name is Hayley, I'm 22 years old. I live in England. I have a fiance called Sam who I have been with for nearly 4 years. I found out I was pregnant at the end of November, I was about 3 week & 4 days. My baby is due on the 8th August 2008. This is my first child and I am really excited. I have got my first scan on Thursday 17th January at 11:45am, can't wait. If anyone wants to chat about anything then please leave me a message. Can't wait. xxxxxxxxxx

Thursday 17th January 2008

Well I went for my first scan today, I thought I was 10 weeks and 6 days but thry said I am further on, I am 12 weeks and 2 days so that was a big surprise and it is 5 and a half cm. I am so excited and so if my boyfriend who now can't believe he is going to be a dad. xxxxxxx

Saturday 23rd February 2008

Went to a private clinic today for a gender scan because I couldn't wait any longer. I found out that I'm having a BABY GIRL. Was in shock as I thought I was having a boy but a girl is fine and she is healthy they said. Got my scan at the hospital on the 13th March so just have to wait and see what they say.

Wednesday 27th February 2008

Last night at 1am I thought I felt the baby kick for the first time but it was an actual earthquake, how weird is that. Still not feeling the baby yet, been having flutters and bubble this week but no kicks, can't wait till she kicks, I'll be really happy. Also my hormones are all over the place, one minute I'm happy the next I'm crying over nothing. Can't wait till she arrives. xxx

Thursday 13th March 2008

I was sitting watching tv with my boyfriend Sam late last night and I could feel the baby moving around a lot inside (been feeling it moving inside for a couple of weeks but not on the outside). I pressed down a little bit just below my belly button and it kicked really hard, Sam pressed down and he could feel it kicking. Really pleased now we are able to feel it on the outside, also pleased as I have my scan at the hospital tomorrow, can't wait to defo find out if I'm having a girl. xxx

Thursday 13th March 2008

Today i went for my hospital scan at 11:40am, they said that it could be a girl but couldn't tell for sure so going to have to go back to the private clinic on Saturday to find out for definite. xxx

Thursday 5th June 2008

Well I haven't wrote on here for a really long time, been really busy trying to get the house done up and get things ready. Well it definitly is a girl after having a gender scan twice and a 4D scan, so can't wait until baby Chloe gets here. I went to see the midwife yesterday and she told me that the baby had had a growth spurt and I was measuring at more than what I should be. She told me that I was 34cm, don't know if that is big or not though, would love to hear from people and let me know what they are at the moment as she said that if it gets any bigger then they will have to send me in which I am really worried about as I am nowhere near ready. Does anyone know what the size of your uterus has to be before they send you in. Would love to hear from anyone. xxx

Monday 14th July 2008

I have been having period pains on and off since Friday morning. A couple of nights they have been really bad, don't know whether to call the midwife or just wait until my appointment on Wednesday. Also went to a birth workshop at the hospital on Saturday, was quite interesting, got to know what different pain relief you can have and watched some videos and they showed us round the maternity ward. Can't wait though till all the birth bit is over and done with, getting really fed up now. Won't be long though now. xxx

Wow, guess it just depends on the midwife you get!

tetera - Saturday, 21 June
Just out of curiosity, how does your midwife know the baby will be early? I've been measuring 2-4 weeks ahead for awhile now and almost every woman on all sides of my family has delivered early but my midwife just keeps saying "oh almost all first babies are late so you'll probably be late."

I was always scared of the labor part that is why I waited and waited to get pregnant but I started the childbirth classes and it really helps they give you different techniques to use during labor to manage the pain I'm not saying that it will be easy but it sure help me.

Hey - I saw your post and I know what you mean about being scared of the actual delivery. I've been pushing it out of my mind for so long and told myself I'm going to get the epidural, so it won't be so bad. However, I was watching one of those birthing stories on TV last night (I've got to stop watching those!) where I saw women with epidurals still in pain. I'm starting to freak out a bit, myself. But, I keep thinking that so many women go through this and live to tell the tale......Best of luck to you - I hope it all goes well!!

Don't worry, 2 cm is completely normal! It could be that your baby had a growth spurt and you won't measure much bigger at your next appt., it could be his position, the fluid level... It's absolutely nothing to worry about yet and there's no reason to think you're having a huge baby. At 31 weeks I was measuring 37! Now, at 36 weeks, I'm measuring 41, and my baby weighs just over 5 lbs so far. Mine is due to his position and I have a ton of fluid. So don't worry :)

bambina2come - Saturday, 7 June
HEY GIRL HONOSTLY I WOULDN'T WORRY. MY DOC SAYS TWO WEEKS AHEAD OR BEHIND IS COMPLETELY NORMAL!! NO HOSPITAL SHOULD BE NEEDED.

megcantwaitforherfirst - Thursday, 5 June
its seems odd theyd send u to the hospital at 31 weeks i was measuring 34 weeks its not too big of a deal

tamaramcmanus - Thursday, 5 June
hay read you ? and i to am 32 week and measureing34 i see a docotr at the hospital and he says that it is ok but he douse an ultra sound to make sure that everything is ok becaue sometime big babys have troble geting there shoulder threw the birth canal but no worrie it seem that everyone is measureing at least 2 week bigger then they should ,,,,,congradultaion and god bless

Alicia23 - Thursday, 5 June
I went for my 32 week check up on Tuesday and had a scan and i am mesuring 33cm but baby is about a week behind in growth and only just weighing 4 lbs. I wouldn't worry to much as a few cms won't make much difference as it's still within the avarage range. When i had my 28 week check baby was above avarage and has now slowed down so you may have had a growth spurt and slow down for the rest of the pregnancy. Hope this helps take care xxx

carolynjh - Thursday, 5 June
Hey there, I just posted about measuring big myself. I wouldn't worry too much, you should measure about 32 cm for 32 weeks, 34 cm for 34 weeks (neat huh?) However, being off by a couple weeks seems to be common. I am measuring correct, but when they did an ultrasound, the baby is measuring 1.5 weeks before due date-bigger than average? Could mean she will be tall, could mean my due date is off, who knows? Just don't be afraid to ask your doc any ?s and hopefully they won't need to induce you early or anything, kind of a wait and see situation I guess...

rotibaby - Monday, 19 May
Whats really funny is I posted that question and then the very next day she did everything, kicked hard enough to see from the outside and her daddy finally got to feel her do it.
