Hello Everyone, My name is Mesi (me-cee) and we are about to have our 2nd and last child. I had a page before with my 1st child and almost didn't make another page but figured I'd just as well start being fair with them now and this way they can both have a colorful pregnancy journal to look back on when they get older. We have a toddler that is a year and a half now, she is very active and busy (got it from her dad's side) and loves, loves, loves to sing nursery rhymes (got that from my side ;0) I welcome all positive conversations and helpful information about pregnancy, infants, and toddlers.
My first pregnancy wasn't good at all but have noticed that this pregnancy has shown me a little more mercy, thank God. I'm don't know if it's because I know what to expect or if my body has just gotten a little more use to being pregnant. I can only pray that this pregnancy continues to have mercy on my soul ;0)

I had my second doctor's appt. after being confirmed i am pregnant. The doctor was on vacation but the ultrasound nurse was there, which was the only person we really cared about seeing anyway. The ultrasound lady found one good heartbeat, which was 154. She stated that I may be a week off cause the baby measured a week behind but she didn't want to confirm it without the doctor and a little more time. I was suppose to be 8 weeks but maybe 7 weeks instead. I was also informed that because of my age that I would have to start seeing a specialist once I'm 16 weeks - which is just fine with me.
I promised my doctor I would try my best to have a better attitude this time around (we'll see how that goes...lol), as long as it was confirmed we were only having ONE child. Thank God, it's only one. 1 thing down and 2 more to go. The health and the sex are the second most important now.

Went to Dr for my routine pregnancy blood work and pregnancy pap. And once again, I'm on Zofran for morning sickness. Only difference is, with my 1st pregnancy I had to take one every sick hours but with this pregnancy it's just once a day. I can honestly say, I really don't miss this stuff at all....oops...I forgot that I'm suppose to have a great attitude this time around....my badd ;0) So anyway, the doctor used the little doppler monitor to hear the heartbeat and couldn't find it so he asked that I come back in a week to make sure.....but I knew the baby was still pumping cause I was still suffering with morning sickness - plus nothing is wrong with an extra check.

Went in today for my extra visit to make sure of the baby's heartbeat and it was confirmed to be 150. So I walked out with a business card for my husband to get a vasectomy and information for myself on a tubal ligation....lol! It is what it is!!

Had my regular pregnancy checkup today with my OBGYN and he informed me that everything is going fine so far. My husband felt the need to huddle over me and the Dr. while he checked for the heartbeat - and it was still 150. I asked "that means a boy right?" and of course he says "now what book have you been reading this time...lol" so I replied "awe, come on Dr. Mathews, boy right" and of course he went back professional just as fast as he smiled and said "No." (He and I do tend to joke from time to time about me and pregnancy) that being said, he did inform me that I was getting old and I answered back "well thanks" and he continued that the older patients have to start seeing the specialist because of the risks that factor in with age.....(smile)...which I already knew and had an appointment for. So I asked him, "Shouldn't I be getting over this morning sickness stuff by now?" and he asked "is it really bad for you, I mean, are you able to keep anything down?" and I answered "well yeah, it's not as bad as Jordan but I just feel a little nauseous off and on all day" and of course I get the smile of sympathy..... "Well most women whose mornining sickness hasn't gone away by 12 weeks will most likely have it throughout their pregnancy"........So me being the dramatic pregnancy that I have proven to be fell backwards on the bed holding my forehead and said"Are You Kidding Me!"....... All I could do was smile with disbelief and shake my head. Needless to say, I made him keep his promise as we all walked out of the room and said to him..... "Don't forget your promise Dr. Mathews, I need these tubes cut, burned, and sacrificed to the gods!" and he laughed walking off saying "I promise Mrs. Hicks"....... Needless to say, the nurse that checked us out made sure she handed Alex a card for a good Dr. that specialized in the snip snip procedure for men for my reassurance...lol. Next visit is the Health and the Sex!
Now my daughter (within 15 minutes) has managed to find her way to a bag of Saltine Crackers that I had on the counter, open them, pour them out, and randomly step on some and eat the others or she's probably peeling them off the bottom of her feet and then eating them...who knows........ All I can think of is "Woo-Saa, Woo-saa"
She is so beautiful! Hey, I have a cute lil boy her age. ;)
look at her with her 6 teeth! I love it! |
