surprisebaby - Saturday, 14 June
I went to the dr on Thursday and got a good report. My blood test showed that my liver and kidneys are fine and we do not have to have the baby on Friday 13. I still have to stay on bedrest until the baby is born, but I am relieved that I did not have to have it today. I do not have to have a c-section if I go into labor naturally but if the need arises to have it without going into labor naturally I have to have a c-section. My daughter was a c-section but my son, my second child, was not. With the blood pressure being high and the scar on my uterus from the first c-section, it would be too dangerous to induce labor. How are you doing?

Hello, thanks for commenting back...it started around last weekend (17wks then) I think bc I was in 100 degree weather all day b/c of my bf wedding. My BP has always been very good when I go to the doc. I haven't told the doc yet, got an appt in 13 days (yes I'm counting, thats when I find out the sex) so I'll tell her then. Hope everything is going well with you :D

rubymom - Wednesday, 11 June
Hello. I was put on bedrest a couple weeks ago and subsequently wrapped up work (via bed w/laptop) within a few days. It was tough to let go like that but my bp went way down after I wasn't stressing about work. My bp is so weird. I went downstairs to put a load of wash in (not very strenuous) and it shot up to 143/92. I think part of me is scared and the other part is in denial that this is real. I am looking forward to getting my labs back. I hope yours go well! Oh, and my feet are a lot less swollen but I noticed that my hands have been swollen the last couple days.

I was diganosed with preeclampsia too! I am due July 3, but they may take the baby via c-section on Friday. My bp is up and I have protein in my urine, headaches and heart palpitations. I did the 24 hr urine collection and had my blood drawn to check my liver and kidney functions. I go to the dr tomorrow and they will let me know what is going to happen. Good Luck to you!

lisasmells - Wednesday, 11 June
hey just a quick question, what symtpoms do u suffer from with ur pre-eclampsia?

rubymom - Wednesday, 11 June
thanks for writing! Does your bp go down when you are in bed? Mine gets down to normal if I am lying on my side. Otherwise, it is elevated. I'm in the middle of my second 24 hour protein collection. I did one last week and the lab LOST my urine. I couldn't believe it. This is not the most fun thing to be doing when you are this pregnant. Has your baby been fine so far? I've been doing non-stress tests and so far the baby has been fine.

The membrane stripping hurt pretty bad. But from what I've heard the more dialted you are when they strip them the less it hurts. When they stripped mine I was only 1 - 1 1/2.

Thank you for your response. I already know it's way too close to my due date to travel and it wasn't just that that's stressing me. It's the fact that I'm being told I am going to ruin the wedding because my son was suppose to be in the wedding and I won't send my kids without me. They act like me sending my kids so far away without me and on a plane is a ridiculous fear. No one in my family is close and my brother really doesn't have any family from our side attending, but his Fiance has like 150. I just feel if I was the the tables were turned no one would risk or make any extreme sacrifices for me.

My husband and I had a serious heart to heart this weekend about what will not be tolerated in our marriage. Things are looking better. I cannot thank you enough for your comforting words of support. It means so much to me to have people understand where I'm coming from, because often during my pregnancy I just feel TOO emotional. It's good to know that I'm not the only one feeling this way. :) Thanks, more than you know.

benjamink - Saturday, 3 May
Yeah I've been doing the baby wipes thing...at least it's good to know it's just not me lol...

Nope...no baby yet! And No contractions! I'm dying!! Everyone told me that second babies don't normally come late, but I guess mine do! I'm guessing that I will go till the end of next week when they induce me

Well, I break the leaves up into pieces that are a good size to nestle them around the breasts. Then I give them all a good wash, and place them in a plastic bag. I then keep them in the fridge (not freezer), and they are also nice and cool when you use them, which also helps relieve them. Personally, I say that it is not mind over matter, because my engorgement was so bad, as I said I got mastitis every time (and I did also express a little by hand from the nipple when it was really bad), but the cabbage leaves DID make a difference for me.

I was wondering what if we have diarrea, is it not supposed to be one of the signs that your are in labor? what if it sprays everywhere? My SIL said she she had a BM with one of her kids but did not know it until my brother told her!

Thanks so much for your reponse. What exactly does AU refer to? I'm not familiar with that one....
