Hi, I'm scheduled for the 21st. I'm not sure I'll make it that long. I see the doctor tomorrow morning, so we'll know more then! How are you feeling?

That is funny! Glad you are drinking it. Even if it doesn't necessarily bring on labor, it is supposed to be very good for strengthening your uterus and I have never heard or read anything negative about it. I would have also recommended "The The Salad" at Ciaoti Cafe to you too, but that restaurant is all the way in Studio City. My hubby and I just went for fun on our date night so we could at least say we've tried just about everything! :)

Have you tried drinking the raspberry leaf tea? That is one of the only things I did different this past week and I went from zero dialation and zero effacement and the baby being super high to being 3cms and 50% effaced in one week. I have no idea if it has anything to do with the tea or not, but it tasted good. I bought organic raspberry leaf tea at Whole Foods (you might be closer to Mother's) and I made three bags at a time with hot water, then chilled it and drank it as iced tea.

well things are slightly hectic right now, because my son stayed the night at his grandparents last night and my father forgot to buy the right milk, and being stubborn figured one night wont hyrt him, and gave it to him anyway, now i have Alexis attached to my boob every two hours and Drew unable to stay alseep because he has diarhea and an upset stomach. hard to change a runny diaper with one hand while holding a suckling infant to you with the other! lol, but i'll get him balanced out and all will be well...

i had a head ache for the first two days, but not a migraine, but i dont think it was from the hormone shift i was dehydrated SO BADLY during labor!

everything is good, no hubby though! not sure when i'll get that!

As for that part, I'm not too sure. But I can see the reasoning behind waiting until the child is older because in the event that the child were to have a reaction and god forbid, die from it, it would be difficult to pinpoint it to the hep B shot because they are so small. Like I said, I'm gonna ask my doc about it tomorrow. If she acts like she knows much about it, I'll let you know what I find out.

I understand how you feel. We kinda feel the same way. I think the benefit of giving the hep B shot is of course, to keep the baby from getting it. But its not just one shot, I think its a series of 4 shots that the baby has to get over several months. I think the problem is that babies can have reactions to the shot. I read a bunch of testimonials where parents lost their babies and since they were so young, it was difficult to determine why they died, so doctors tried to blame it on SIDS. But really it was because the baby had reactions to the shot. Here's the site I read.. http://www.thinktwice.com/hepb.htm. Like I said, we are still considering it, but lean more towards declining. I feel pretty confident that my baby won't be exposed to the virus for many years.

It sucked - to be blunt lol. :). Order the epi ASAP, you will still feel contractions but won't feel the pain. I was started with the cervidil to soften my cervix, that was for 12 hours, and then they started the pitocin, I had him after only 7 hours of actual labor. Thanks on the congrats! Keep me updated!

It was me that posted about it the other day. I didn't know to even consider it before someone else posted a few links on it a week or two ago. I pulled up some info for my hubby and let hiim take a look. We decided to decline the Hep B shot, since the baby won't need that at least until he starts school. My husband was in the army and got his series of shots then, and he was 24. I'm not sure that I've ever had them and I was a premiscuous teenager and also worked in a blood testing lab for a year and a half. I just don't think that the baby needs such a shot, especially being so young. As for the vitamin K, we are leaning toward not giving it, but of course, there are those circumstances where you might wanna give it, such as if you have a c-sect or if the baby was in distress or something. So I'm gonna have a talk with my doctor and get her opinion on it first, but as of right now, we are leaning towards not getting it if I have a good delivery and the baby is healthy at birth. What does your book say about vitamin K? All of the info I got about it was found by looking up sites on google.
