Yes, I went natural... BUT I had to have a DNC after and ended up with a spinal block. The irony is overwhelming. lol

Have i spoken to you before?

Well at 38wks they guessed through ultrasound that he'd be 7.5lbs at term. Then at 41wks they guessed through palpation he'd be 6.5lbs - 7lbs at most - and out popped my 8lbs 6 baby so i dont really think they had a clue what they were on about! lol they only way of tellin a baby's weight is to put it on the scales when it's born. Dont worry about having a big baby - they're apparently easier to pop out and you probably wont notice the difference. There comes a point where it's so painful, you wouldnt notice if it got worse, lol! Good luck! x x

thanks for the advice. yeah, unfortunately i'm sure that's what's going to happen. they will induce and i'll take the epidural. i'm no hero. :) so many women i know who got induced ended up getting c-sections. i'm worried about that too!

Done it. :( Only works for about 3 hours. I think I'm going to have to sleep on the couch in a propped up position on my back.

I'm right there with you. I'm so afraid of needing Pitocin, I know it will lead me to an epidural which I didn't want. I hope hope hope I get contractions before my water breaks. This is my first delivery but from all the stories I've heard about Pitocin I know it's bad stuff. hopefully we will go naturally!!

You only have a couple more days left. You can do it. Youve waited this long. I know its cliche, but when your body and the baby are both ready then all systems are go.....If you dont want to go to the hospital then you just have to chill out becuase messin around before the time is right could end with a c-section. Labor will start, I promise!!!!!!!! Just relish your last few days without another huge responsibility...Get your rest. Its almost over!!

I am taking evening primrose oil. My midwife told me that I can take 1500mg, three times a day. She also said that it can be helpful to poke a hole in one of the geltabs and squeeze the oil onto your finger and apply it vaginally. So, that's what I'm doing. I just started the internal oil yesterday, so I haven't really noticed any difference, but it can't hurt! Good Luck!

HAHAHA! I was told, medically, to start having sex now because FINALLY my cervix is dilating. In 3 days I went from 1 cm to 3! WOOHOO!! My midwife also told me to start using my breast pump for 5 minute intervals every 20 minutes, oh and to alternate breasts. I was told sex, nip stim and a shower, all in a row and to keep repeating. Ugh, and I'm SO not into the sex idea. I'm like 200 lbs, I feel DISGUSTING...I can't imagine my husband being very into the idea, either, since we haven't done the deed in a couple months now. It's the big belly for us - NOT exactly an aphrodisiac, ya know! Lol... But I got another membrane sweep, this time a really GOOD ONE! So who knows. I'm not holding my breath. My induction is scheduled for the 21st at 7:30 pm and I need to research the method they will be using...I'm not familiar with it. Let me get back to you with some info. TTYS!

Cool! Thanks for the info! You give me hope...I had a sweep yesterday and then lost some mucus and blood today, so hopefully labor isn't too far off! I feel like the only person in my week group that hasn't had their baby yet. It's discouraging and lonely. Glad there's a few of us still keeping the hope and encouragement alive! Thanks again!

I don't think a membrane sweep is any different than trying intercourse to help labor along. It's not like you're putting chemicals and hormones in your body, which could hurt the baby. When I think of induction, I think of adding or doing something potentially harmful, weather it's a pill, the cervical gel (which can have HORRIBLE side effects!!), pitocin, or artificial rupture of the membranes. A membrane sweep is simply walking the fingers between the cervix and bag of waters to separate the two. Doing this is supposed to aid your body in naturally producing the hormones necessary to start labor (kind of like the intercourse theory). I have had it done twice now. Unfortunately for my 6 day overdue butt, it hasn't done much for me yet. :*( Good luck to you!! And don't worry, just follow what's in your heart to do. You'll make the right decisions.

Thank you for your comment. I really don't want to be induced this pregnancy but also don't want another doctor delivering my baby. I'm thinking on trying to hold out until she comes back and see how it goes.

how many weeks were you when this was done, cause mine are being done on fri i'l be 39 weeks i'm already having some pains but their not coming to much babes head is fully engaged as well. thanks for commenting.
