Hello. My name is Hope and my due date is January 8th. It appears that I am carrying an NBA star in my belly because the sonograms say that he weighs 9 pounds as of week 37. This is my second child, my first is an 8 year old girl who only weighed 7lb 8oz--three pushes and she was out. I am praying that I avoid a c-section, so please wish me luck!
Dec 28th...
I am soooo anxious that I can't sleep (it's 3:30 in the morning). I feel a lot of pressure and pain in my pelvis, but no contractions. I wish I knew how to think about something else.
December 30th -- 1:02am...
Can't sleep. Pain and pressure, but no contractions. This whole pregnancy went by so fast; now I feel guilty that I want my son out so bad. Working and trying to take care of my family never gave me the chance to bond with my baby while he is inside of me the way I bonded with my daughter when I was pregnant with her. I am going to make the effort to bond with my little one over the next few days while I still have him all to myself.
January 5th
I am scheduled for a c-section on Monday at 11:30am. I'm scared, but I'm excited at the same time. January 7th is exactly one week before my birthday- January 14th. I was kinda hoping to have already delivered so I can celebrate my birthday but now it looks like I'll be on bedrest. I hope I have an easy recovery.
I gave birth to baby Patrick on Monday, January 7th, 2008!
Patrick was born via c-section. He weighed 10lbs 6oz and was 22 inches long. The 7th was one day before my due date and I never went into active labor. Recovery is painful if you let the narcotics wear off, lol. I was told not to lift anything but the baby and lie flat all day; easier said than done. I am so happy to have little Patrick here. Isn't he adorable? This picture was taken by the anestesiologist in the operating room.
My recovery from the c-section went very well. I had a whole lot of pain once I came home and my pain medicine ran out. I called my doctor and she phoned in another perscription--what a life saver. I'd say after 3 weeks I was feeling good. Right now it's 3 months later and I'm 110% and you can't see my scar unless you really look hard.
he is gorgeous!! Look at those lips! |
