I have been happily married to my wonderful husband for almost 3 years and now we are trying to add more joy to our lives with a little one. We are in our 14th month of TTC now and haven't had any luck yet but I am trying to stay positive. I feel like the months have been passing so fast and everyone around me has become pregnant but I know that it will happen eventually! Hopefully! I am so glad that I joined this site because I have found so many going through the same thing as me which is comforting. Wishing everyone the best of luck and thanks for all of your kind words!
2/22/08: So, AF is expected on Monday or Tuesday....have had sore BB all week but that is nothing new when AF is on the way. My digestive system has been pretty messed up for the past couple of weeks but not sure if it has to do with my diet (I am a very healthy eater and enjoy lots of greens and beans!). Not taking a test this time nor did I take one last month but just hope that if AF is coming, that she comes on time so I don't start to get my hopes up. It's always better if she cuts me off before I start thinking, "what if I am!".
2/23/08: AF arrived tonight....early.....so on to month 9 now.
3/12/08: So I started using OPK's this month and the surge happened on Sunday so we followed the doctor's orders and baby danced away! I am pretty sure that I ovulated sometime on Monday because the CM was diminished by the end of that day. So now we are in the 2ww. I am trying to be more positive about things now...trying not to focus on what I don't have (a baby) and focusing on all of the wonderful things in my life. Good luck to all of you ladies ttc!
3/21/08: On day 28 of my cycle now and I honestly have no clue whether or not AF is going to come or not. I have been waking up with cramps all week but then it ends up that I just had to urinate really badly or that I had intestinal issues! I am not really reading into any "symptoms" anymore because every time I do, I get my hopes up just to be let down. So.......just waiting around for flow to arrive now.
3/24/08: AF arrived today.....on my birthday of all days. Onto month 10 now.
4/4/08: Hubby has been out of town on business all week but we planned his trip so that he would be back just in time for ovulation! I have been taking ovulation tests all week and they have been very faint. The second line only just started to become a little darker this morning so ovulation should be this weekend! Yeah! I am having such a positive attitude lately. It's incredible and a blessing because I was losing hope. I don't know where the change came from but now I truly feel that we are going to get our wish soon......
4/17/08: On day 25 of my cycle now and I have no clue whether or not AF is coming. If AF does come this month I am calling the doctor to begin preliminary testing just so we know that everything is okay and if there is something wrong, we can do something about it.
4/19/08: AF came yesterday, so this is the second 25 day cycle within the past 3 months which is strange for me because I usually have cycles ranging from 28-31 days. Anyway, I called the doctor yesterday and she scheduled a blood test for today then I have to call her when I get the surge on the OPK (for maybe a sonogram or another blood test?) and then another blood test 8 days after that. It will be nice to find out if I am having normal cycles and if I am ovulating properly. I guess if they do end up having to put me on any sort of drug then they will test my hubby first. So that is where we stand now....
4/22/08: I went for my first blood test on Saturday and got my results yesterday. The doctor said that everything looks good (they checked my thyroid as well as other hormone levels) for where I am in my cycle and for my age. I am supposed to call the doctor when I get my surge on the OPK so that she can schedule a blood test for 8 days afterwards. The next step after all of that is to test my husband.
5/15/08: I went for my second blood test on May 12th and everything looks good. The doctor said that I definitely ovulated this month and that my progesterone levels are great! She said that I have to call her if I get my period and we will look at things further (get hubby tested, etc.).
5/21/08: AF came on the 18th so I called the doctor that day. Hubby is going in for his test either this week or next week and we will start the next phase once we receive the results from his test. The next phase involves me having the dye test done so they can see if my fallopian tubes are clear and then it is on to Clomid. So this time, month 12 of TTC will be our last month of trying naturally I guess.
6/5/08: The doctor called with my blood results yesterday. She stated that my iron levels are normal (I have Thalassemia Beta which is a form of anemia), and that I tested negative for both Fragile X and Multiple Sclerosis. Hubby is up next...he has to give a semen sample and have a blood test done on Wednesday.
6/18/08: AF arrived yesterday, a 30 day cycle just like last month which is interesting seeing as I got the surge on the OPK on different days but oh well! Flow is unpredictable like that! We got hubby's results back finally and everything looks good which is just the best news. All that I have been hoping for is that there is nothing wrong so all is good so far. I am scheduled to have the dye test (can't remember the long name!) done on the 27th. We opted not to go on Clomid just yet because we want to take things slow right now and get all of our test results back first. Funny how we are so eager to have a baby but we are taking things slow? Ha!
6/27/08: Just got back from the HSG test and it looks as though all is well! My tubes are free and clear so we have a case of "unexplained infertility".....love it! My doctor was confident that all will be fine and that we will get pregnant. She said that a lot of couples get pregnant after having this test done so we will see! I will just continue with the acupuncture and see what happens. I feel like that acupuncture has mellowed me out about this whole thing which is what I needed so all of the more reason to continue it.
7/20/08: AF arrived today. Surprisingly my cramps aren't that bad this month which is rare! I am thinking that acupuncture is working! Hubby and I made a decision to try until the end of the summer on our own (to also see if the HSG helps our chances) and then start Clomid in September.
