Make a pregnancy ticker

Ok, so my husband and I decided to try again for a baby (we have a boy Zach born March 15/08 who is our life and is the best kid on the planet). Anyway, like last time, we got pregnant immediately. You don't realize how lucky you are until you read others heartbreaking stories. I know I'm very lucky and fortunate!!!

May 29/09

I am about 11 weeks pregnant, and haven't seen a dr yet. I had a midwife last time around however I'm on a waiting list this time (ugh) so looks like I have to see my family doctor instead for now. I have an appt this afternoon - hopefully things go well. We have decided not to find out the sex of the baby again. As much as I want to, I can't keep a secret and my husband doesn't want to know. I'm so worried Zach will be jealous and feel neglected. I guess I shouldn't worry about that now though and take each day at a time. Like last time, currently feeling like crap - totally exhausted, naseaus, and avoiding alot of foods/smells.

July 8/09

I am now 16 weeks pregnant and have gained 2 pounds so far. Saw my doctor on Monday and am a bit scared - he couldn't find a heartbeat so he is sending me for an ultrasound. He said not to worry about it too much because the baby is so small at this stage and is probably just moving around (and to be honest, he didn't check for too long like how my midwife did with my last pregnancy). The naseau is gone and I've pretty much got most of my energy back, but I've been getting dizzy spells. My blood pressure was a little on the low side when my doctor checked it so that could explain it... Anyway, got a call today that there is availability with a midwife so I have an appointment on the 21st. I had a c-section with my last pregnancy and I've decided I'm just going to schedule a c-section this time so I'm not sure if I should even bother switching to a midwife at this point...

July 19/09

18 wks pregnant. Had my ultrasound on Friday and the lady told me it's a boy. Sooo happy that he's healthy and growing. Must admit, as awful as this is, that I'm a bit disappointed to find out it's not a girl - I was sooo hoping it was. My husband doesn't know that I found out though. He came to the ultrasound with me but wasn't allowed in for the first half of it, so she told me before he came in (he didn't want to find out). So I guess I really start focusing on deciding what boys names I like...and what sounds good with Zachary, lol. I think I like Darion. Trying to think of how kids could somehow turn that name into something they could make fun of ? Although Tyler isn't a fan, especially considering there's not really a short form/nickname for it. Anyway, otherwise I'm feeling good and starting to feel little kicks once in a while. I posted a pic from my ultrasound.

July 21/09

Still 18 wks pregnant. Had my first midwife appt today and my due date has been changed to December 20th (it was December 18th...boo hoo)! Finally got to hear his heartbeat for the first time - it was in the 150's. She didn't bother to measure me though. I don't have another appt until Aug 18. But she did check my blood pressure and it was even lower than my last appt with my dr. Today's was 88 over 48 and I checked a chart and it's extremely low. She didn't seem too concerned though so I guess that's ok... it's better to be too low than too high. My weight is now 138 (I've gained 10 pounds). My protein levels were +1 today though (glucose was negative) so I need to drink more water!!! Feeling lots of little movements and the heartburn has gone away (knock on wood).

Sept 3/09

24 wks pregnant. Midwife appointment today was short and sweet! I'm now 145 pounds (ouch) and my blood pressure is normal (100/60). The baby's heartbeat was 138bpm and is measuring 24cm! I have to do the diabetes test within the next few weeks, which I'm not looking forward to. I hate needles!!! Anyway, baby is moving lots - belly has bulges all the time. Heartburn isn't so bad either now, thank god!!!

Oct 8/09

Had my 28 week appointment on Sept 29th. Was 151 pounds. My blood pressure was low again (98/56) and the diabetes test came back showing low iron levels (no diabetes though, thank god!). I have to take some iron supplements now. The baby's heartbeat was 125bpm, and measured 28cm so all looks good, although the baby does not ever take a break from kicking... why won't he just sleep once in a while, lol. I'm starting to get really tired. I've changed my due date from December 20th (which is the official due date) to December 15th (which is my scheduled c-section date). I was hoping it would be a bit sooner, but no luck!

Oct 15/09

31 weeks pregnant. My midwife appt was fine today. She took more blood to see if my iron was getting any better. I'm now weighing in at a whopping 156 (omg). Baby's heartbeat was in the 140's, and measuring 32cm. My bp was 80/60, and protein/glucose was trace and negative. Baby is still really kicking the crap out of me... he's moving ALOT more than Zach did (and I thought Zach was really active, lol). Heartburn is really bad again...driving me CRAZY!

Oct 27/09

Almost 33 weeks prego! My midwife appt was annoying - my protein leve was +2 so I had to send a urine sample into the lab for further testing. I'm not 159 pounds (3 pounds gained in 12 days???). My iron is getting better. Baby was measuring almost 34cm and the heartbeat was in the 130's. Baby is finally starting to slow down on the punching/kicking (tg)! My son Zach (19 months old) is starting to point at my belly and say "baby" now... He's going as a Skunk for halloween. We picked up a couple of pumpkins today and he was trying to lift them up - sooo cute because he was making grunting noises. He's turned into a friggen monkey - anything that looks like it can be climbed, he's climbing! I was folding his laundry and turned my back on him for a minute and next thing I know he's on his bedroom dresser! (we just bought him a bunk bed for his room, and he climbed up on the headboard of the bottom bunk and then climbed from there onto the dresser... this is a TALL dresser)...scary!
