Hi All,

I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Me and my hubby are damn excited and can hardly await our baby's arrival. We do not know the sex of our baby till now. My hubby wants a cute girl baby while I wish for a bonny boy. So the wait is to see who's prayers are being answered :)

During the first trimester I underwent some terrible morning sickness but the second trimester has almost been a breeze. Have not had any major cravings except for once when I wanted a lime mousse cheesecake very early one morning!

Our baby seems to be fond of music and jumps about these days a lot. Looks like he/she is going to be one big party animal. To almost prove this, the baby is mostly active in the night. My hubby recently felt its movement and was amazed.

Update 1: The glucose challenge test is scheduled for a week away. We just had the anamoly u/s scan done and everything looks normal. My hubby was there this time and was so astounded seeing the little one move its fingers and legs that he went speechless for quite sometime. The scan showed our baby has a prominent nose (takes on my hubby there again) and that makes him gloat a lot.

Best of luck to all mom-to-be's and congratz to the new mommies. Keep visiting by.

Update: Had my glucose test yesterday and got the reports. Everything is normal and that 's a huge relief for now.

Am getting so easily tired these days. Have taken a sabbatical from work and avoid travelling/driving..yet by the time I whip up a decent breakfast I get exhausted.

Monday, Jan 21

Its 29 weeks and 6 days today. Will be entering the magic weeks of 30 tomorrow. We had a small nice lil b'day celebration for my hubby. Tomorrow we are off to get our 4D scanning. Can't wait to see our baby a little more clearly. Hope we can get to see some real action - a smile or a yawn, will do.. :)

Breathlessness is one trouble am facing these days.

Wednesday, Jan 23

Just 70 more days to go. We went to this cute boutique maternity centre - The Cradle for the 4D scan. The first look of our lil one showed him hiding his face behind his hands...but soon we got a clear view of him snoozing..moving his legs and his lips! It looked liked he was murmuring something. Am refering to our baby as 'him/he' just going by my gut feel. We don't know the sex of our baby but since the earliest days of me being pregnant all friends and relatives kept saying that I am going to have a boy. So I have just now fallen into the habit of refering to our baby as 'him'.

Tuesday, Jan 29

So now the count it down to 64 days. It still seems a long 2 months away before I can hold my bundle of joy. But as someone wise has said - the fun is in the waiting. Probably :)

Am busy these days planning the Seemantham (baby shower) party. Here its more or less organized by the couple or their parents. Mine is scheduled for Feb 10th and 11th. Yes, its going to be a 2 day affair. On 10th evening there will be a small function of vedic recital, prayers by the priest and blessings for the parents-to-be. 11th will be the valaikapu function where elderly ladies will adorn the mother-to-be with colorful bangles, sing songs, shower gifts and bless her for a healthy and safe delivery. Overall its fun when you just go with the flow and let yourself to be pampered for the day.

So last few days have been busy working out the guest list, caterers, return gifts etc...Whew! Its tiring but what the heck, its not a New Year party that comes every year right?

Saturday, Feb 09

Now am well into 32 weeks. Our little one seems to be doing somersaults these days. Its fun seeing the tummy distort and dance around. The nesting feeling has sure set in. I spend most of the days cleaning and some more cleaning.

Today was my day of pampering and gettting ready for the baby shower function. Spent sometime at the beauty salon and also got henna (mehendi) designs on my hand. Will post some pics of it soon. Now off to make some last minute purchases for tomorrow.

Tuesday, Feb 12

Life's full of surprises...some pleasant and some not. Grandma was unwell a day before my baby shower and was admitted in CCU, due to high BP (HTN)..but thankfully she recovered quickly enough to get discharged the same night and was able to attend the function. I was so relieved and glad to have her there that day.

Just 50 more days to go....:)

Tuesday, Mar 18

Its 38 weeks. exactly today. We went and had our final BPP scan, blood & urine tests. The doctor says the D day may arrive much before the due date!..Dats exciting. All those around are making me feel lot comfortable. Every day there is a delicacy of my liking being made. Hmm life's nice...yet there is the small tension that everything should go fine.

Your very welcome. All anyone can tell you is their opinion. It's up to you and your baby to make the decisions. Thank you. We wanted a strong name that wasnt so popular. Ayden, Aiden, Aden is so popular now (Had that name picked out years ago before we were thinking of children), so we had to find a different name. I have to say though, the best thing I love about cloth diapers is how much money we save!!! All we do is a load of laundry a day of diapers, and voila!! The cost of the detergent is so miniscule compared to what disposable diapers are.
