hey, everyone! i will be 8 weeks tomorrow! my husband and i are very excited about having our first baby. so many changes have already been happening and there are so many to come. we are looking forward to this adventure together. i thought that i would be more worried and nervous about everything, but to my surprise i am just happily going with the flow. i hope that everything continues to go smoothly, but we will just have to wait and see what happens. i do have bad heartburn and nauseu everyday, and i am exhausted...goes with the territory...right? i look forward to hearing about how everyone else here is doing! good luck to everyone!

Hi Abby,
How are you doing? Sorry it has been so long. Looks like we will not be hooking our internet up until after we move. So, I will check this at least once per week. Cannot believe we are already 34 weeks. Are you doing ok? I am sooo tired now. Having a two year old and trying to move, and carry a big baby is tough. I am still working too. How about you? I miss talking with you and I will do my best to check in often. I want to continue talking even after we have the babies! Take care:) Jessica

See you tonight!

xitedmama - Wednesday, 14 May
Hi, the sheet I got says 'for your comfort please wear either slacks or shorts, and bring the following, 2 standard sized pillows, a large towel, a watch with a second hand, and we strongly suggest that you bring an exercise mat or a blanket to place on the floor'
maybe we won't need the stuff the first class- I think I am just going to leave it all in the car when I get there

xitedmama - Wednesday, 14 May
All ready for class tonight? : )
I got a thing in the mail from them yesterday, I guess were supposed to bring pillows and stuff with us...

firstlilschlegel - Wednesday, 14 May
So the shower, mostly clothes, bibs, bottles, hats and socks. We had asked for no 0-3, yeah guess what we got...oh well, you can't have to many I guess. Did get my boppy (actually 2) monitors, changing pad, we are still waiting on pack & play & bouncer from family. All in all it was really good, people made me feel so much better telling me how cute I was...guess I needed a confidence boost being this far and big!! I told doc about BH, he said they would hurt and the consistency is the most important thing. I think though everyone is different, some people don't have them at all & go straight to regular contractions, I think it all depends on your body! We go for our appointment next week, I think it will be the first one they do "THE CHECK" dum dum dum. So anxious to see how that goes... Are you doing bouncer or swing or both?? I've heard different things, and am not sure what to do

Hi Abby,

I have missed emailing you! Hopefully we will have the computer set up again soon. As soon as we do, I will let you know as I want to keep in contact even after the baby is here. Yes, I am doing well. Feeling the minor aches and pains too. It gets really hard here at the end. Just try to remember you only get experience your baby this close to you while you are pregnant. I am trying to enjoy every bit as I do not know if this will be our last child. You will be just fine. Just do not have an induction unless it is medically necessary. Your odds of a c-section are higher if you do that. Just let your body decide when it is time for baby to come into the world and you will have a good delivery. Everything will be fine. I will make sure and email you when I get home. My c-section is June 19 at 0700 am. I feel more nervous for that than if I was delivering vaginally. Oh well. When you start labor at first you may not be too sure what is going on, if your water has not broken, stay at home for the beginning part which tends to take a lot longer for first time moms. Then, when you cannot have a conversation well during a contraction, head over to the hospital. Are you planning on an epidural? I think that it really helps. If you have any questions let know. Relax. You will be just fine!

OMG things have gotten so super crazy!! Your little girl looks adorable. We were thinking about doing the 3d/4d but decided to re-do the floors in her room instead...I guess we'll see her soon enough :) That's great about your shower, I have my family one this weekend and I'm thinking that's what we'll get. At my work one, we got pretty much all clothes, and one thing off the registry. I told my SIL to tell people RSVP'ng not to get 0-3 month stuff, we have so much, now they'll probably get 3-6!!!! Good to be greatful no matter what I guess. Had my first bad BH last night, lasted almost 3 minutes it hurt but was manageable. MY dogs were funny about it! Hope all is well with you :)

nursejessicaj - Friday, 2 May
Hi Abby,
Sorry I have not written. I did get your pic and she is beautiful! Our computer is still not in service so I will only be able to check this at the library for now. Please keep in touch with me and let me know how you are doing!!

Trip ended up going well, feet were swollen but I think that's becoming a common thing nowadays. Had a nice surprise when we got back, my in-laws painted the baby's room, & put the crib together! It looks so good, my sister re-did a dresser for us too, so other than the mattress we're ready to go!! I am super excited, I washed and folded all the clothes like a nerd, but it was so funny! She kicks constantly, and it's great but still sometimes I freak about the weirdness of it!! I just can't wait for her to come!!!!!!! How are you feeling?

nursejessicaj - Thursday, 24 April
Hi Abby,
The crib we ordered on April 11 and it will be delivered tomorrow, so it did not take too long. My apt. went well. But, I somehow weighed five pounds more than I did two weeks ago. My Dr. said to cut back on salt. I have not changed anything though! I even increased my cardio at the gym. Who knows? She thinks it is because my apt. is late in the day and it was hot today. All I know is that I cannot gain more than 1/2 pound per week from here on out. I have to be in sisters wedding July 14 and I am freaked out that I will not fit into the dress I ordered. Ahhhhh! Anyway, time to give Olivia a bath. Hope your ultrasound goes well. Send me a picture!

xitedmama - Wednesday, 23 April
I'm at about 25 pounds, I'm just having one shower, it's on 5/18 also

nursejessicaj - Wednesday, 23 April
Hi Abby,
I am glad your apt. went well. As far as the 4d goes it is really hit or miss. Our baby had his hands and feet in front of his face at first so they had me turn onto my left side really far and he moved them. My cousins baby would not move for them so she had to come back later. You will probable be fine though. Our nursery is not really a nursery here because it is part of our bedroom. We are going to have move our computer to a different place in our home. So, if you do not hear from me for a few days that is why. Anyway, I am still excited that the crib is coming so I can have it ready. My dr. apt is today. I wonder how much weight I have gained. I am trying to only gain a few more pounds but it is so hard!!

nursejessicaj - Wednesday, 23 April
Hi Abby,
It was probably your baby that you were feeling. How did the Dr. apt. go? I go tomorrow. We get our crib Thursday. I am excited to hear about your ultrasound!

nursejessicaj - Monday, 21 April
Hi Abby,
I am glad you liked the picture. You will have so much fun at your ultrasound. My mom came to the ultrasound with us too. Guess what? My baby flipped to head down! My ribs hurt so bad after he turned. Yes, she can still move down usually up until 37 weeks. They did show us he is a boy. It was so cute! I worked so hard yesterday. I did four deliveries this weekend myself. Whenever there is a full moon we get busy:) Please let me know how you are feeling. I feel like I have gotten really big in the past two weeks. I will still have to send you a picture to your email. Take care!!

nursejessicaj - Saturday, 19 April
Hi Abby,
The ultrasound was so cool. He actually moved head down which is how they are supposed to be. I think he moved last night because he was moving so much it hurt me. I will have to see if I can download a picture of his face and email it to you. It was so neat. I almost cried. He smiled and was chewing on his fingers. So adorable. You will love it. I think we talked about names. We are naming him Troy David. David is my hubby's middle name. Boy names are so hard for us! Anyway, it was a great experience. When are you scheduled to go? I cannot remember:)

xitedmama - Friday, 18 April
Hi Abby, I feel huge too- how much have you gained so far? Do you know when your baby shower is going to be? Mine is 5/18 I feel like that is so late. Yup, we're signed up for the birthing class 5/14-6/4 too- See you there!

nursejessicaj - Friday, 18 April
I will let you know how it goes today!! I am happy to hear your friend is doing alright. She will have good days and bad days right now. How is your girl doing? I think my boy is still breech. We will find out today.

firstlilschlegel - Thursday, 17 April
Rhogam is when you are RH-, if baby is RH+ my antibodies would attack her is something goes wrong. I have to have one 72 hours after delivery too. It's real fun, cause it's in your butt!! We are traveling from Ohio to South Carolina this weekend, so I'm a little weary about that b/c of the car trip, but I think it should go alright!
How are you feeling?

nursejessicaj - Wednesday, 16 April
Abby,
I hope you are feeling better today. This is very rare that this would happen this late. It probably was what is called a cord accident. However, they will not really know unless they do an autopsy. Usually, there is some sort of defect that was not caught early on. Like I said, this is so rare. I think we maybe see one or less a month and we do over 350 deliveries per month. I have not seen one in a few months. Try not to worry too much as this only stresses you and your baby out. That is not healthy. As long as your baby is moving ten times within 12 hours, then rest assurred everything is fine. It might help you to start doing kick counts at times of the day when you notice your baby is most active. When they move a lot, that is a sign of fetal well being (happiness). Sometimes we get people in because they have noticed decreased fetal movement. Sure enough, sometimes they have low fluid (amniotic) or other issues are starting. But, most of the time, mom just is not feeling the movements like you can at 24-28 weeks when they have a lot more room to flip around in your belly. So, like I said, it is ok to be sad for her, just try not to worry about your own baby. The chances of this type of thing happening are very slim. Be positive and you will be fine. I hope you have a great day. Like I said, if baby is moving throughout the day, chances are she is just fine in there!!

nursejessicaj - Tuesday, 15 April
What happened to your friend that had the horrible news? I will definitely let you know how the ultrasound goes. Hopefully baby will cooperate:)

nursejessicaj - Monday, 14 April
Hello,
Yes, most strollers are not that expensive. It was just so expensive because it is a double stroller. I used the medela pump last time I breast fed and I did not like it. I was told by a friend to try the ameda. They are expensive too but I think it will be worth trying. I thought the medela pump did not pump very well. Since I worked full time I needed a good pump. Then I had to quit because the pump was not keeping my milk supply up. Just do your research. I know for some medela has been fine. I am doing some pregnancy modeling for a photographer that publishes pics like Anne Geddes. I go Thursday. Friday is our ultrasound(3d). So I am excited! Hope all is well!!

bexcited - Sunday, 13 April
Thank you! WoW! Three babies that early...now that's some sress!!!

nursejessicaj - Saturday, 12 April
Hi Abby,
We bought our baby stuff today. The double stroller was almost $400 which is a lot for us but oh well. We cannot really do a nursery here for our baby because we are still trying to sell our home. He will go in the room just off of ours with no doors separating us. I had Olivia there last time but I moved her downstairs after two months because I would wake up if she made a noise. It sounds like you will have fun making your room. If we move to my mom's sooner than later when we sell, then we will make him a nursery there. You will really enjoy the ultrasound. I had get approval too. I have never heard of seattle sutton. I looked up the website and it looks very good. Just make sure you eat atleast 1800 calories while breastfeeding. I plan on breastfeeding with this baby. I did with Olivia for six months. I actually just bought a different breast pump. I did not like the one I had last time. This time I bought and Ameda. Breastfeeding is hard. I will say that. But, it is so special and sooo good for the baby. You will find you lose a lot of weight with it. It just got too hard with me being at work again full time. Well, I hope you have a great weekend too. I work every Sat. and Sun. for twelve hours each day. Only nine more weekends to go!! Watch, I will probably go into labor at work:)
