About Me
My name is Jacque; I'm 23 and live in the Mid-West with my wonderful husband of 3 years, Jason- our daughter, Madelyn (or Maddie) and our 2 cats, Missy and JJ. I'm back to school- getting my Master's in Teaching and working part-time as a police dispatcher.
My Hubby
Jason is the best dad/hubby in the whole world- I love him so much it's rediculous! We met in college and married, February 14, 2007, after 2 years of dating. He is completely in love with Madelyn and she is completely in love with him. While I'm at work part-time or at school he is with her and loves his alone time with her. While I was pregnant he rubbed my back, feet, shoulders, etc. and always got me whatever I wanted- he is so wonderful and I know I'm lucky to have him, he's my everything and I'm so happy he gave me Madelyn.
Pregnancy
I found out I was pregnant in March of 2009 and, though it was an "oppsies," my husband and I had been married 2 years (we actually conceived on our 2 year anniversary) and were totally happy that he knocked me up! We went from hanging out downtown to hanging out at Babies R Us! I had a pretty normal pregnancy and no complaints until the last 2 weeks- because I was so late.
Labor/Birth
Baby Maddie was born Thursday, November 19, 2009 vaginally with an epidural. I had a really easy labor/birth. My epidural worked wonderfully and I watched movies, napped, chatted, etc. during most my labor. I pushed for a REALLY long time, for 2 1/2 hours... but she finally came.
Baby Madelyn
She an extremely good baby! She barely cries unless she's hungry or really, really tired. She sleeps pretty well through the night. She smiles, coos and loves to cuddle. She gets bigger everyday and I just want her to stay tiny!
Breastfeeding- EBF!
I wasn't "set in stone" to breastfeed- I figured “if it works it works.” But, as soon as Madelyn came out and onto my tummy she was making gestures with her mouth that she wanted to feed (I think all term babies do). I put her on me and she immediately latched on. I had a little bit of a hard time the first week or so, but I think everyone does. I stuck to it and, so glad I did. My husband was 100% supportive of BF and still is. He gets me water, snacks, remote, laptop while I'm nursing, so helpful. I love to nurse her; it's a bonding between us that is very special. Holy Moley- we are saving some serious money... but also, it is very good for her body, she loves it! I would suggest any mommies to try and stick with it... it's time consuming and a self-less act but, you body feels good doing it and your baby will love it.
