Brady Dean was born on Feb. 18, 2008. There are not enough words to describe how much I love him. He has brought so much joy and light to my life!

4/5/08

7weeks 5days- this was Brady's first week of daycare. I only worked half days this week so I didn't have to throw him into going full time right off the bat, then I realized he wasn't scared, sad and nervous it was me so I guess it was more to wean myself into the new routine. He seems to have done well though and is always in a good mood when I pick him up. He is also always smiling now. Such a happy baby! His infant acne (it got really bad) seems to be clearing up now. I am still breastfeeding but I do give it to him in a bottle most of the time and mix it with one oz of formula. The Dr told me to do this and it'll help fill him up a little better so he can go longer between feedings and it has really seemed to work. I can't believe he will be 2 months on Monday. Time has gone by so quickly!!

I read your post about things being different. Some women experience a prolapse with the cervix during and after pregnancy. I thought I was losing my mind too..."What the heck is that, is that what I think it is??" I have a cerclage and I could feel the stitch when showering- of course they said I was imagining it until I went in and showed them. It was then explained to me like this...imagine what happens to a man when he's warm vs cold...it's kind of like that for us- depending on how relaxed vs tense we are with our stomach muscles. Kegels can help this resolve it'self quicker I was instructed. It's nothing to worry about as it's more common than you think. Hope this helped some- I know it was a bit late coming...

:)

Happy Mother's Day!!!

You're not the only one with a big baby. My son weighed 9 lbs 4 ounces when he was born and at his 2 month check up he weighed 14.9 lbs!! I constantly see babies older than him smaller than he is lol.

I will def. use the nail file. I could not imagine trying to cut her nails again after what happened. It is not worth the risk. This is my third child and I have never done this before.

Hey Jamie, I just read your comment about your vagina looking 'different.' I don't know if anyone has addressed this issue for you already because I haven't read all of your responses but I also freaked out about this, wondering if I had a 'prolapse.' A gynaecologist told me this was due to swelling and would resolve itself. After about 2-3 months it did! It kept going up and down (if this makes sense?) I would see my middle bits one day and not the next! And the only reason I knew this is because I was using a mirror to bathe my stitches (and then to look after haemorrhoids). I think a lot of women don't look down there and so wouldn't realise! Anyway don't worry I'm sure everything will settle if it hasn't already :-)

That is what we did too! Plus our doctor is 45 minutes from us and i don't want to have to make that many trips!

We chose not to get shots for Riley this early. The hep B shot actually has Aluminum in it as a preservative! I have researched it all and we did not want to get the shots so early. You can always change your mind according to my doc, except the rotovirus should be done early on if you are going to get it. The risks of your child getting sick are so low along with the risk of your child developing autism, so ultimately its up to you.

I am having my daughter vaccinated on an alternate schedule and since I am BF there are some shots that I will not let them give her (HIB and PC). She goes next week for her 2 month shots. She will get 2 vaccinations DTap and her second Hep B shot. I will reschedule her for her rotovirus vaccine (which is not a shot but a liquid that they drink.) The vaccine book by Dr. Sears tells you about the vaccines, what they are made of, possible side effects, etc. He has a website www.thevaccinebook.com

I heard it was the associated by the high fever that some children get from shots. I would not risk not having your child immunized.

addysonsmom - Thursday, 17 April
Yes! 30 minutes before the appt. It really helps to reduce the fever. I found Addyson was not grumpy and slept through the worst of the pain. She did have a runny diaper in the morning so be ready for that! I was really careful with her legs and kept in her onesie at bedtime.

my little man had his shots 2 weeks ago and the DR said the shots that he got (4 of them) will not have an affect of him so you may not need to use Tylenol

jenmarie82 - Monday, 14 April
Do you know how far that is from clarksville? I'm just trying to find other moms that live close by.

Congrats on your little man.. My son hated the swaddle blanket.. My son likes me to be there for his sleep too but he often falls asleep in his swing. Or I take him in and lay in my bed with him and hold him till he falls asleep than I sneak out and he sleeps a couple of hours like that! HTH! Good luck

Thanks for responding to my question. Im eating alot of cottage cheese and pinnaples right now. We dont have any sweets or junk food in the house because I refuse to buy them. Im just really bad about no packing a lunch and going out to fast food. I dont like lunch meat so that makes it difficult. Thanks

angeleyes3 - Monday, 17 Mar
so we are both full of shit then!lol
im sorry to hear about your doctor, my midwife wasnt very understanding either, when i said i thought it was a prolapse, she asked how did i know had i had one before, and made me feel like an idiot. most doctors are like that, they dont seem to like you to tell them what you think is wrong with you, must be an ego thing!
ive had 3 children and i know it doesnt feel right down there, it is getting better for me, but still i can feel a heavy feeling inside when i cough or sneeze, if you still feel scared get another opinion, dont let them make you feel stupid, its your body and you know it best, i never had this feeling with my last 2 children, so dont feel like because its your first then the doctor must know better. do you have a 6 week check up where you are? id mention it then if you do, and if you still dont feel right.
keep in touch xx

I too agree that you should go see your doctor. As for 'normal' I have had a lot of swelling near the entrance to my vagina since giving birth in the end of november. I had a c-section yet too after a 24 hour labour and my baby turned out to be breech. Intercourse so far has been painful and it feels like I'm a virgin again! My doctor though says it looks normal- so i'm hoping it just gets better with time. Although both my sister and sister-in-law say (after 3 and 4 kids respectively) that things never go back to the way they were and there is a new normal... blagh

Julia R - Monday, 10 Mar
