1/21/2008

a rough day...i feel a lot of pressure on my sinus cavities in my face, gives me a headache and also makes my jaw, teeth and gums ache. i'm starting to get backaches too, and can't seem to get comfortable. i can't wait for may! i want to hold my baby and not be pregnant anymore.

2/12/2008

feeling really moody lately, even crying for no good reason. *sigh* can't wait to be myself again.

my husband set up the new crib and dresser and i washed all of the baby clothes. still have some organizing/storage to tackle, but we are getting there.

i continue to work out and follow my vegan diet, with 40 minutes of cardio six times a week and 35 minutes of strength/toning three times a week, but still putting on weight. 10 lbs. in the last month. ?? all i can hope for is that my healthy routine pays off after i have baby and the weight comes off easily. everyone says i'm looking good and that i'm "all baby", so i try to just go with that. still, i'm feeling B-I-G.

3/23/2008

i had 2 baby showers in the last 2 weeks. they were both nice and i got a lot of stuff from my registry. only a few things left for me to buy, like the car seat/stroller, pack and play, baby bjorn carrier and some bottles. i had a friend of mine take a few photos with my camera during yesterday's shower and i was not happy when i got home and looked at them. i haven't been taking pics of myself; it was a bit shocking to see how i look through the lens. i feel fat, pudgy, squishy...i am SO weary of being pregnant. may cannot some soon enough!

5/7/2008

i am officially due in 2 days and i am going nutty! have been dilated 1cm for over 3 weeks, 70% effaced and currently at +1 station. had some blood twice in the last few days, some contractions here and there, but no other signs of active labor coming. i am SO uncomfortable, having a hard time sleeping and dealing with heartburn at night. i waddle around every day, can barely get out of the chair, and feel absolutely HUGE! i'm so ready to have this baby! started taking evening primrose oil 9 days ago, but i don't want to do the castor oil. yuck. guess i just have to keep on waiting for this stubborn little baby...

try a faster flow nipple, get one that matches your flow the best you can. it works best that way for me, though my son still hates taking a bottle most of the time.

Hi checking in to see how things are going for you? Things have been so busy for me. 4 kids on summer break! We ended up hiring a part time nanny. It is nice having help twice a week for the older ones to get out and go swimming and stuff.

Baby Jack is doing great! His fussiness is over. I ended up talking to a lactation nurse who told me not to change my diet that that was a bunch of crap and she had me just breast-feed only on one side during a feeding. She explained the milk has sugar, protein then fat and if you switch sides during a feeding your baby wont receive as much protein and fat and they can get sick from the sugar. Well it worked like a charm. I eat whatever i want. Spicy everything and he is just fine..

How are things going for you? Are you going back to work or staying home?

your post in the weight gain section made me feel better about my weight gain. I am 36 weeks and have gained 45 pounds. I am 5'4 and weighed 135 before getting pregnant. My eating habits didnt really change except that i am eating less fast food than i did before i got pregnant and i still cant understand how i am gaining so much weight. I hope that i dont have trouble losing the extra weight. Congrats on your baby!

Oh saw your birth story- I still cant figure out how to change anything on mine!! Good for you glad everything worked out! Love her name! The next ten days will be amazing for you.. I felt almost 100 % by day ten! Hopefully you will too..

andptyof6 - Saturday, 17 May
Congrats to you!!! You're a mommy now!! How did it go? Hopefully you had a great experience.. Send me some pics and details, name etc..
I brought Jack to the doc we were so miserable and sure enough she went through my diet and the amount of asparagus, broccoli and onions garlic all of it i eat way to much. I had been making these foil packs for the grill and eating tons of gassy veggies. So i listened to the doc and quit eating all gassy veggies and beans and sure enough Jack hasn't really fussed again. Im learning to love carrots and zucchini!! So no spicy food either. But this is only for the first month or two then i can slowly add tomatoes and all that great gassy food back in but i need to give his system time to adjust to just eating... So im having a hard time finding enough food that i will eat. I was going to buy a vegan cookbook the other day but my ma wouldn't allow me.. Hmm my birthday is in a couple of days so obviously she already bought one for me.. So in a bout a week i will find something good to eat!! jk! Cant wait to hear from you!!

Hi,
Just checking in to see if you have had your baby yet... things have been so out of control around here. we have been up for five days now. This baby has been screaming non stop. He is so gassy. We are going to the doc again today. I dont know if my diet is making him so gassy. I am so desperate. I feel like im going to have an emotional breakdown. I cannot handle this screaming. My husband just ran to the store to get something called gripe water. I hope this works. m curious if you know anyone who was a vegan and breast fed. I dont know if im eating too many gassy foods. Ive never really believed in everything passing into the milk.... Oh he is screaming again.....

i hope you're right and all the pressure/pelvic pain means that a lot of the work is already being done. i've been feeling that, esp. at night for 4 nights now. i have a dr. appt. today and hope they tell me they can see her head.... but i seriously doubt it.
