I have a used crib for this little one. It really depends on the age and condition of the crib. Check for recalls on the crib and be sure of the manufacture date. Your friend could have bought it new two years ago but when was it manufactured??? Make sure there are no loose or missing pieces. Also, make sure the slats are not too far apart... google for the exact measurement that is okay.

anr - 11.2 hours ago
there is nothing wrong with using a used crib! just make sure all the pieces are there and make sure you clean it.

jenjen74 - 13.8 hours ago
I say take the crib!! Especially if it's free!! I got mine 5 years ago at the goodwill and this will be my third time using it!! Like Rookie said, just make sure everything is there and it's sturdy with no recalls!!

rookie - 21 hours ago
I'm sure a used crib would be fine, but for safety reasons I think it would be good to get the manufacturer and style name of the crib then make sure there's no recall on it. You could check on consumerreports.com (I think).
Also, make sure it has all the original parts (nuts, bolts, etc) so that you know it's sturdy.
Once you get it, just thoroughly clean and sanitize it and you have saved yourself money to use on other much needed items.
Good luck!

You know, I always try that for family and friends and it never works lol I also noticed that he stops moving anytime my belly is exposed to light. It must startle him or something.

loveatfirstbump - Tuesday, 29 April
Me too! And it never gets boring lol. The funny thing is that whenever he knows I'm watching, he stops moving, and then as soon as I look away he starts moving again. I think there's some king of telapathy thing going on between us at times.

yeah i hear ya, i am constapted all the time, and im not on iron any more
ok there are natural fibre drinks u can take that do not harm baby, firbe gekl is one,
or eat high fibre content cereal, i try and eat wheetabix before i go to bed so by morning its worked its magic, and then for breakfast, might take a day or two to work but when it does, omg, it feels great, lmao
or you can buy a stool softener called lactulose, what that does is coat te poo in a sugary substance so its easir to get out... what a nice morning conversation, lmao

well honey best go, got lots to do today,
well i think i have, i dont kow whether im comign to going lately
take care and hope it works..x.x.x

ukdutypaid - Tuesday, 22 April
sweetie, the baby needs lots of iron, and will take all of urs, the doctor said when were pregnant, the baby comes first even inside our bodies, thats why we get low iron, cus the baby will take everything we need, the only thing is does is makes us constapted. lol, so try taking a stool softener or a fibre drink with them, do not take iron on an empty tummy, and if they do give u tummy ache take less or try a differant type, but most these days dont give u tummy ache. has the doctor advised u to take them, if so we only have 10 weeks left honey, i was extremely tired and kept having crazy dizzy/blackout spells from lack of iron, good luck

CCQ - Tuesday, 22 April
I take over the counter Slow Fe twice a day (even though directions say once a day, my dr said twice). It doesn't make me sick, it actually gives me alot of energy that I have been lacking. Good Luck!!

Is your husband leaving teaching to go into the army? I can't imagine it pays that much better than teaching (I am a teacher too). Or is it the reserves? I bet he is worried about another mouth to feed. Maybe he could teach classes at the local community college or coach. I got my Masters and teach summer school for extra cash- not many choices for making more money as a teacher. I hope it all works out for you- at the very least, you'll have a hot, buff husband!

topazbecky - Thursday, 17 April
My boyfriend was in the Navy for 4 years and talks constantly about going into the reserves. He tells me that it will give us extra money, but I don't think the couple hundred dollars a month are worth the heartache. I have entertained the idea, but very unsure of it. I told him that he can't make any decisions until after the baby is born. He asked me last night how I would feel if he got deployed and I was honest in telling him that I would just die. I reminded him that it's not just me he would be missing, but also really important time with Addy. I asked him how he would feel if he was gone for 8 months and missed a birthday, or first steps, etc. I told him that if he TRULY thought that his joining the Reserves was the best decision for our family that I would support him, but that I want him to think long and hard and not do anything until after Addy is born. I know how you're feeling right now and I'm sorry.

I have braxton hicks ALL the time! This is my second child though... I NEVER felt them with my first child but that may be because I didn't know what to look for... you see, you don't really feel them. Your stomach just gets tight... like the baby is balling up and getting hard. I think during my first pregnancy I thought it was the baby turning and balling up but now that I've been through real labor and I know what real contractions feel like I can tell that I'm actually having Braxton Hicks.

angelbabies14 - Wednesday, 16 April
I haven't had BH yet either, I don't think everyone gets them...is that right? I also haven't had anything leaking from my boobs and I see so many women for many weeks now complaining of that.

Radhika - Wednesday, 16 April
Hey jaxwaqu,I also haven't felt brax.hicks.I asked my doc about it on my last visit she said,"it's ok I haven't felt them either when I was pregnant with my first baby" so don't feel left out ,there r lots of people like us who haven't felt them. Take care

kailz - Wednesday, 16 April
hi jaxwaqu i havent yet either or at least i dont think i have i asked what they were a while ago and people said its like a tighening of your stomach but i havent felt this should we be worried?

tangerina - Monday, 14 April
you're welcome!! my bradley instructor told us about it and it's pretty awesome! I'm so glad that there are things we can do to prevent breech positions. Our babies will also appreciate it since i'm sure it doesnt feel too nice for them either :)

hi hun thanx for getting back to me, well all i can say is if u ever feel like ranting and raving to someoe who knows how it feels then im always here xx

sapphire1987 - Monday, 7 April
hi just read ur message on the board for 27 weeks and i can relate to everything you have said. If u dont do the housework it never gets done (snap) and most of the time its like ur pregnancy hormones dont exist and u have no right to be pissed at any point.

araya-sunshine - Sunday, 6 April
Yes, seek help. Your not digesting your food, you have signs of a urinary tract infection and the pain is probably just sciatica (sp?). All the problems could be inner related or completely indepentant of each other. The most troubling is the undigested food.
