My Profile
My name is Ashley and I am happily engaged to my fiance Jason. I was on the small side before I got pregnant. 4"11, 90lbs. He is 6"5 on the thin side but nicely built.....I knew this pregnancy would be interesting to say the least. We can't wait to meet our little man!!!
Our first baby will be a boy! ~Kyle Andre Cizman! Due August 27, 2008
We are planning to have a home birth...a water birth! I've got my pool and everything! I want to try and keep it as stress free and natural as possible. I'm not a hippie, but I also don't agree with all the inductions and c-sections and drugs in hospitals. I am on the shy side, and would feel more un-inhibited in my own home. I want nature to just take it's course. Apparently waterbirths are safer and cleaner than some land births, and the water is very relaxing and can prevent against tearing and infections! I hope the pain releif is as good as they say in the pool.
Grandpa (Jason's dad) is hand crafting our baby furniture! what a wonderful man he is. We have the dresser all done now and it looks better than most of the pressboard you find in stores. We are so lucky to have a wonderful supportive family, and a handy man in the family! I am so excited we could keep the tradition alive and we now have this gorgeous furniture to pass along. I cannot wait to see the crib although it is in the works, it wont be done for a few weeks still....which is just fine!
We are almost ready for our little guys arrival....I am a lil scared about the labour pain, and have all the same concerns and fears as any other first time mother. I am feeling the heat, and look like a penguin when I walk now...overall my pregnancy was good.
We were told at week 32 he was on the small side, and I was sent for another ulttrasound. We had our next midwife appointment...and he grew! my diet adjustments worked! YAY! our baby is now 3.5 pounds, and she expects he will double in size. I have no idea where I'm going to put the rest of him HAHA.
I have been getting some sharp pains here and there, mostly just late at night when the baby is most active...some of them really startle me! I also notice feeling more tired than usual. Yay for afternoon naps! Oh and then there's the aches and pains. Those have really kicked up in the last few days (week 33) you name it and it hurts....feet, back, leg cramps, pressure on my "parts" It's amazing how our bodies accomodate our babies....
Today is August 6th, 2008- Today our midwife came over to do our home visit. She checked Kyle's heartbeat, and measured my belly. She said everything looks good, and we seem ready for the birth to take place anytime. My bloodpressure was reading a little high, and I told her about seeing spots, and feeling sick and what not. Not a huge deal, however I still need to be careful. She said "Well, maybe you wil give birth on the weekend then!" Since I have been having pains lately and feeling the way I have. Tomorrow we are going to have a final ultrasound to confirm his position and get a better idea of how much he weighs. Now we have appointments weekly with the midwife and she said next week she will check for dialation and if I would like I can get her to do a "sweep" to speed things along but I think I will let nature take it's course...I think he will be here soon enough without rushing him.
~*~We can't wait to meet you Kyle!!~*~
Today is August 14th...We found out at our appointment last tuesday Kyle's weight is 6lbs 1oz. Proud daddy got to see the baby's privates at the last ultrasound. He is still presenting well, so now we are just waiting for his arrivial. We will keep going to the midwife weekly and she is hoping I will go into labour soon.
Today is August 29th....I'm overdue! I can't wait till we have our baby. Time seems to be dragging on and on now....Last tuesday the midwife checked me and I was 1cm dialated. I was like oh, that's it!? My cervix is soft...and Kyle could be born any day now. I hope I don't need to be induced becasue I really want my homebirth! I don't want to go to a hospital. Too bad my midwife is so intent on me delivering soon. Apparently she has a lot of September babies, so she is really hoping it will be soon! We will see how that goes. My baby must love my belly, becasue he seems pretty content in there!
Labour Prediction Quiz
Get your bags packed early just in case you need them. Make sure your partner has a phone available when he's away because this baby just might come early. We predict your baby will come 2-3 weeks early. Your baby will most likely be born in the morning. Justmommies predicts that your baby will weigh approximately 5.8 pounds and that your labor will be about 12 hours long.
