Tuesday, 6 May Aww your profile pic is too cute. She's adorable. karenc -
Monday, 5 May that's probably okay that it's thick -- ince the milk is on their bellies for a bit it gets chunky, kind of like cottage cheese (gross, I know). when my baby spits up breastmilk, it's like that too. I hate it when he spits up, btw -- I feel like it's a lot of hard work being wasted. malachi456 -
Monday, 5 May hey i saw ur comment on bf and ur baby spitting up.. my pediatrician told me tat bf babies spit up cuz breast milk is more watery than formula. I would keep trying to breastfeed, but expriment with your diet to see if its something your eating... i hope that helps! take care karenc -
Sunday, 4 May I can imagine how you feel. my little boy was spitting up a lot more than usual last week and I just got to the point where I was crying from the stress. you know, some babies are sensitive to dairy, esp milk -- my son gets very gassy if I drink even one glass of milk (and I LOVE milk). try not drinking milk for a few days and see if that helps at all. some other things that babies are sensitive to are citrus fruits, tomatoes, broccoli, and spicy food. maybe cut back on those things too and just see. drop me a line any time you want to chat -- you're doing great, stay strong! karenc -

Saturday, 3 May hi, I saw your post about breastfeeding - your diet can definitely affect how your baby feels after breastfeeding, so you should eat healthily and take vitamins. but I think uyou should talk to your pediatrician b/c it may be something other than your diet. i'm sorry this is hard for you and your baby - I know you're just trying to do what's best for her. do you have a breastpump? if so you could try mixing breastmilk & formula together until you talk to yout doc. sweettj75 -

Tuesday, 15 April Isabella refused the pacifier until she was 4 months old. Believe me I tried! I have about 10 different models! In the end she finally accepted the MAM pacifier. You can only find it at Toys R Us. It's not clear plastic... it's the brownish nipple. It really works. I wish I would have known about it earlier. I also had to get her used to it. Every time she fell asleep at my boob I would slip in the paci instead and after a while it worked. xoxo jessica20 -
Tuesday, 15 April hey girl i read your post in the breastfeeding section.. it sound sexactly like my situaion.. i asked the doctor and he told me to be careful what iread... sometimes it can make u paranoid... as long as shes gaining weight stedily shes fine.. trust your instinct,,, o and i have an overactive letdown and it helps to pump for a couple minutes before u feed... it slows it down ALOT ... good luck firstimemom -
Tuesday, 15 April It's really hard to feed babies! I have had many ups and downs feeding my now 8 month old daughter. It will get easier! I believe that babies feed when they are hungry. Isabella has always been a real spitter & it used to freak me out. She used to nurse a lot in the beginning, usually every 1-2 hours & it drove me nuts! She grew big fast but then it all evened out around 4 months. So, don't worry about it too much & follow your gut instincs! If you have any questions let me know. xoxo nancy26 -
Friday, 11 April Hey hon no worries! How is your little one holding up? A bit better? Is this your first? How's it going for you? I'm so excited to meet my little one, but a little apprehensive too, when I think of how tired and ratty I am right now, and how much worse that could be when he's here and I really have sleep deprivation... lol. It's all worth it though, right? :) Have a great weekend! expecting785 -

Thursday, 3 April Hi! My little man was sick too and is getting much better! I purchased a Cold Mist Humidifier (Has to be cold not warm) and some saline drops as per the nurse's recommendation. I called his ped's office and like it was told to you, Julia, his nurse said he's too young for over the counter stuff. The saline drops in his nose along with suctioning it and sitting in the bathroom while the hot shower runs really has helped. And so has the humidifier. Try that along with breastfeeding and good luck. mama40 -
Thursday, 3 April your doctor is right. your breastmilk is the best remedy for you baby. It has lots of immune active substances in it. Even if you are sick, it still beneficial to breastfeed. Another thing - keep air moist. It will allow mucus to flow easily and she will recover more quickly. If you have air conditioner at home, it may make air to dry, so buy hunmidifyer or just keep some wet towels around. Drink more fluid and air your room frequently to lessen the amoount of germs there. Hope your baby gets well soon. karenc -
Thursday, 3 April saw your post about your baby having a cold. if she's congested, you could try running a vaporizer if you have one (cool vaporizers are recommended) and also (ask your Pediatrician first) you can use saline drops (not really medicine). hope you both feel better!! nancy26 -
Thursday, 3 April Hi Sweetie, I saw your comment in babies. I'm going to be a first time mom, but I'll tell you a trick my mom used when I was a baby (I was very sickly and often had funky stuff coming out of my eyes when I was sick. Pop down to your grocery or health food store and buy proper South African "Rooibos" or "Redbush" tea... It's a natural antiseptic and antioxidant. Mix up a small cup, quite weak (it'll look bright red), then dip in some cotton wool, squeeze it out a little while it's still slightly warm, and use that to clean her eyes - cleared up my eye infections as a baby time and time again. It's so reliable, I used it on myself, my cats, horses, dogs, you name it. It's not very cheap (we get a box for about $6 or so), but it's worth it... and when she gets older, a little weak rooibos tea cold in her bottle makes an awesome substitute for fruit juice, and saves the teeth (I've never had a single filling). Anyway, I hope that helps! Good luck, and I hope she feels better soon! 3rdbaby4me -
