I don't have much time to write back to y'all who've left me messages and I'm so SoRrY! Maddie keeps me extremely busy (duh)...she's what they call a "Needy Baby". Her right kidney has totally shut down and we go every so often to run tests, ultrasounds, etc. Her left one seems to be great (thank God!) and so far she doesn't need surgery. She is a wonderful baby ~ she just wants to be held 24/7. I even bought a recliner because she won't sleep for more than an hour unless I'm holding her (spoiled? What do you mean spoiled?!? lol). She's gigantic, in the 97th percentile for her age, and she eats like crazy. She's just a joy, so loving and (mostly) happy & smiling. She also seems to fancy THEE MOST irritating toys ever made...Johnny and I always have these lame kid songs in our heads from hearing those dang Baby Einstein toys constantly! Arrrrrgggghhhhh...

Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing great...I miss ya!!!

The Birth Story...

Maddie will probably be an ONLY CHILD!!! My induction went awry after 15 hours of horrible Pitocin-induced contractions. I finally begged for an epidural even though I was only 2cm (2cm for 11 hours!). After the epi, I dilated to 10 in 2 hours and pushed for almost 2 hours. She was both "Sunny-Side Up" and stuck and her heart rate started getting erratic, so I was wheeled in for an emergency C-section. I was so drugged up that I barely remember anything except pain and pressure and feeling like I was suffocating. My husband said he was talking to me the whole time, but I can't remember. He also said I reminded him of Mel Gibson in Braveheart when they were disemboweling him at the end, the way I was laying on the table with my insides hanging out. What I do remember is hearing a gagging sound, then suction, and thinking: 'Is that my baby?" Sure enough, that was her first breath and I thank God that I at least remember that. Despite all the torture of being induced and not being able to recall 99% of her birth, it was soooo worth every minute...I still can't believe she's real and here and OURS! She's such a good baby and only cries when she's hungry or when I have to wipe her little butt (she poops like a champ!). She had a little jaundice which cleared, I have to pump my milk instead of regular breastfeeding because she lost weight, and it turned out that her right kidney has no function at all. We go to have a couple more tests done in 3 weeks to make sure that she won't need surgery, so we'll know more then.
Anyhow, other than being an emotional basketcase and sleep-deprived, I am madly, madly in love and cherish every minute with my little lady.

P.S.

To the ladies who worry about your weight gain: today is my 9th day post-partum and I've gone from weighing 228 to 195! IN NINE DAYS!!! :) I have a feeling it's mostly fluid, but any loss is flippin' AwEsOmE at this point!

Hey girl.. well i was supposed to find out the sex yesterday.. but the baby wouldnt let us tell.. so we go back on the 27th.. grrr.. but i think its a girl lol

It's another boy!!! His name is Braiden James!!! I am right on track with my due date 1/06/08...It was greats she put the moniter on my stomach & the first thing we saw was his package I drank Oj and the baby was going nuts we saw his face straight on and he covered his face and turned over.... I must say I think I got a new tech she looked very younge and she had a hard time finding anything it seemed like.... and she really did not explain what anything was...I I also only got 2 pictures it only lasted like 20-25 mins but only one good one and my right side/back killed me after words we went to dinner at apple bee's and let me tell you my dinner is in a grabage can at shopko!!!! But I feel a lot better now that I am at home with my mini soccer team, I guess god wants me to live in a mans world forever... But my husband kissed me after the u/s and said see babe you will always be the Queen and the Princess of the house all in one!!! Oh yes and by the way the flowers were my hubby sending me love in a fun way!!! lol!!!! I finally got to do a little baby shopping ...It feels good to know ten fingers ten toe two legs and arms, I am totally happy about having another boy!!! Now my hubby is really bummed but I will tell that you about that in a blog on my page tomorrow!! we will her from the doctor monday at my ob appointment the complete results!!! :-)

Thanks-he's a wild one but soo sweet and loving. Definately a momma's boy. With him I had STRONG feelings he was a boy from day one and I was right but with this one I have NO idea. I go back and forth. I kinda feel 'girl vibes' but then get thrown off because this pregnancy is just like my last (no morning sickness at all) so I don't know what to think!

NO yellow! i just changed that room from yellow to beige on the top with a white chair rail...in the middle...and the bottom will either be a sage green (for boy) or lavender for girl! ...WOw i just cant wait to find out. i tried expaining the paint thing and he said umm why can't we just wait 3 more days....he's right and I hate admitting it. lol.... I'm just excited and want to do more things!

That is such a cute name. I puked from being inthe car too. This baby's heartbeat is usually around 137-147....I REALLY think i'm having another BOY. I want to go get the paint for the rest of the room tonight and adam's like no way! we've waited this long whats 3 more days! I'm confident its a boy...whats the fluid from? like why is it there? what did they say about that?

I thought I had saw earlyer today someone post something about fluid being in their babies kidneys also. It was on wk 20. I looked and can't find it. But conrats and best of luck to you. Just wanted to let you know your not alone.

grats on the lil girl. you just made me feel much better. my lil one has fluid in both its kidneys and we go back in 3 weeks to check it and try once again to get the gender cause it was being stubborn and not openning its legs! lol.

I hope we are that lucky on monday!!! Its so funny this baby messes with us all the time, I will feel it move and tell my husband to feel and as soon as he lays his hand on me it stops but when he lifts his hand it starts again!!! I can see it being stubborn like me and not let us have a peek! knock on wood!

Thank you very much. Im only about 5ft8in (i had to put the ft/in because for the life of me i forget the ' and ' order of things). I think i only look small because ive filled out everywhere else ;p You seem smaller than others as well. Well wishes for you and yours :)

so does the exercise ball its great for pregnancy and labor, but when you are in labor and not progressing like I did they sat me on the ball within minutes it had set the baby into the birth canal and made him crown and I was in bed pushing for 15-20 mins then he was out!!! I was totally amazed!!!

I can tell you that you are making a great choice by wanting to stay active during labor I was not with my first and with my second before I went back to my room and delivered I walked for almost 3 hours....I totally believe that is what helped me! I want you to know something one of my friends just told me from her delivery 3 weeks ago...she tried staying active but her back was bothering her to much to walk so she sat in the jacuzzi tub and said it was the most amazing relief she had ever felt and the contraction felt differnt to her while she was in there too...so that might be a great tip to the both of us!
