Thursday, 7 August epidural is injected into the fatty outer portion covering the spinal cord and a spinal anesthetic goes deeper. of course if you have a c-section they give a spinal but i always go with epidural myself because if i don't have to have something going into my spinal cord i don't want it. chasesmommy -
Wednesday, 6 August I don't know what shot they gave you in your back, if it was intravenous it was in a vein, which they normally don't go to the back for, it could've also been into the muscle intramuscular, or into the fat tissue subcutaneously. If it was in the spinal column it would be intrathecally. If you do decide to do an epidural know that is it still natural childbirth just made easier. we deserve a break we've been uncomfortable for months.lol jrenee -
Tuesday, 29 July Having your membranes swept is often very uncomfortable and often does not produce labor. I actually discussed this with my OB in my last appointment, specifically asking her NOT to do it. If they could prove it starts things along that would be one thing, but in most cases, it's an uncomfortable and an unnecessary procedure (meaning they THINK it will start your labor but probably won't). Hope that helps - good luck. p.s. - you can do a search on line (google, etc.) and read up on it, that's how I know anything about it, after a friend told me her Dr. did it to her without consulting her first, causing a lot of cramping and bleeding, but no baby... 3rdboymom -
Tuesday, 29 July Membranes swept/stripped is when you're dilated enough your dr can pull/move the sack to help your water brake most women go into labor within 24hrs of having this done few don't. Kristin14 -

Friday, 18 July Hi, I was reading your comment in week 34 and my twin sister said once she started having contractions she had to use the bathroom so many times before delivering she also said she couldnt believe she had the ability to even go that much so yes its true your body should clean its self out naturally before the baby is here. browniety -
