I had my first ultrasound which changed my due date and put me back two weeks! Ugh! But we are both healthy and I am so thankful!

We heard the heartbeat this morning!! 160 and doing very well! I also found out that somehow I have only gained 2 lbs. Apparently, I lost a weight and have gained it all back just in my belly and chest! I had no idea! Thought at least 8 lbs! :) But we're doing great and next appt, Dec 4.

Its official! We are having a wonderful baby boy! He is doing very well and weighs 9oz!

January 7, 2008 ~ 20 weeks. I told my doc that I have not felt the baby move a lot and she told me to go home and concentrate. So I did and guess what? I felt him and it was wonderful! Now I know what to look for and feel so much better my little angel is growing so strong!
February 5, 2008 ~ 24 weeks and 17 pound weight gain! Feeling great, just some normal aches and pains... growing pains!
February 22, 2008 ~ My wonderful, fantastic aunt passed away today and I am devastated by it. Trying hard to stay strong. When I get too upset, I definitely feel it effects my little one. Trying to focus on our memories and what a wonderful person she is. I know my little baby has an angel looking after him!
March 4, 2008 ~ 28.2 weeks Wow! Time is flying. I wish I kept a better journal on here of how I was progressing and what I was feeling. Oh well. Next time:) Had my glucose test today. It wasn't so bad. I didn't really feel much different after drinking the drink so I believe I'm going to be fine with that test.
Have gained a total of 24 pounds! Feels like so much but I really don't have a say in it. I don't eat junk food and I never overeat, so I'm convinced this is just the weight I am supposed to put on. My little boy is doing great and I am truly blessed!
Just working on getting things set for our little boy's debut! Baby Shower March 29, 2008 - Can't wait! Invites went out and people are already buying things for my little one. Makes me feel so good that we will have everything he needs. So excited!
March 5, 2008 ~ I found out today I failed my glucose test, so I have to take the three hour. I'm a little down, but I'm hoping for the best. I feel like I can handle anything that is wrong with me, as long as my little angel is strong and healthy. And he is doing great so I feel blessed! Whatever I have to do to keep him safe:)
March 6, 2008 ~ I had the best day today! I went for a pregnancy massage and a manicure, and when I got home, my husband had baked me a cake! I love cake! He'd never made a cake before, and it was so sweet. He is going to be such a great father. I am so lucky! Tomorrow I go for my 3 hour Glucose Test and am so glad he is going with me.
March 8, 2008 ~ I was hugging my husband at the airport and our baby kicked him! Like he was saying goodbye to his daddy... it was a precious moment! He is getting so strong I can sometimes see my belly move! Loving it!
March 10, 2008 ~ Passed my 3 hour glucose test ... no GD!!! The very best birthday present.
March 11, 2008 ~ Today I had to go to the ER because of a marked decrease in fetal movement. We found the heartbeat, but it was difficult to get a constant reading. After a few hours, finally, we were able to get a satisfactory read. It was heaven to hear and feel my little angel moving and kicking the fetal monitor... music to my ears. We don't know what caused it, hopefully we'll know more tomorrow when I see the doc.
March 12, 2008 ~ Went to the doc today to as a follow-up from my ER visit. She recommended I stop working now because the stress is just too much and endangering Ethan.
March 17, 2008 ~ Based on my doc's recommendation, I now work from home. No more running around the tri-county area and running myself ragged. This was the best compromise and my bosses were very happy they still have me as I'll be out completely in just a short time. I already feel better and know this is the absolute right thing for my little guy!
March 29, 2008 ~ BABY SHOWER! Fantastic wonderful Baby Shower!
April 3, 2008 ~ We had an ultrasound today and my little (or not so little) guy is weighing in at 5 lbs! The average baby weighs nearly 4 lbs now, so we're either farther along then they think or he is a bog baby (like his daddy was:). I'll have to ask next visit. Total weight gain at 32.5 weeks = 28 lbs. Doc says I'm doing great with the weight so all is good!
April 14, 2008 ~ I went to the office today (I only go in about once a week and do most of my work from home now). They surprised me with a shower and had all chipped in and bought us our big boy Britex car seat! We also got Neiman Marcus outfit, rattle and blanket... so beautiful and soft! I was so blown away they did that for us. Just wonderful!
April 15, 2008 ~ Doctor's appt. Strong heartbeat and measuring well. Ethan weighs 6 lbs now. I've gained a total of 29 lbs. Doctor is starting to seriously consider a c-sect, he is just so big!
April 19, 2008 ~ Our best friends, Jeff and Toni's wedding. I was supposed to be a Bridesmaid but am just way too pregnant. Scott was a Groomsman. Jeff set Scott and I up on a blind date, and I set Jeff and Toni up and the rest is history! Sending them lots of baby dust! (And yes, I wore my green dress from my Baby Shower and just hope it holds out for one more wedding on May 3:)
April 28, 2008 ~ Well, its official. My engagement ring is going in to the safe until after I give birth. But I can still wear my wedding band because I never got it sized so it is a little bigger. So I guess I have fat fingers! :) But I know it is water retention, not weight gain, since I have not gained any weight recently so that's ok! Hopefully my band will hold out! I'm ready to meet you, Ethan!!!
April 30, 2008 ~ Went to the police station this morning to have our car seat inspected for installation. Daddy-to-be got an A+! He is going to be an amazing father!
May 1, 2008 ~ Went to the doctor's today. We are not dilated but she could feel his head. He has a little while to go. I might be ready, but he's not:) But I'm glad I have some more time to get things done. Also had the Group B Strep test, no big deal. We got some clarification that what I am feeling is in fact contractions so now I know to pay more attention. We go back next Thursday.

They say that babies love to get a massage. that is really cool that they went over that in class ours was just focused on the mom. I ordered Happiest Baby on the Block yesterday - everyone I know swears by it so I am looking forward to watching it this weekend.
How did the doc appt go? I go tomorrow. I am feeling not so great today and have a lot of cramping. I don't think it is contractions it feels more like period cramps. I think his head is pushing hard on the fibrod and that is what is causing me to cramp - who knows all i know is it hurts today. still working like crazy andthe stress is getting to me. I have to slow down. I called a meeting today and told them I can't take on anything else and am going to have someone start to shadow me on most of the deals I am working on. Everything just seems to have hit at once. So while I would love to say I feel totally ready for him to be here I feel like I need a week to two to get settled at work. I really just want to enjoy this time that I have left of being pregnant rather than running around like a crazy person trying to get stuff done at work.

I'm bringing 2 pj's but my friend told me she pretty much just use the hospital ones... My mom is better she is coming on the 10th now with no friend! Thank God!! Nick is excited about the baby but scared of the actual birth process... kind of like me! It gets really hard once you are about 38 weeks... I swear!! My whole body is soooo sore and I'm so itchy!! I'm going to the doctors on Friday and they are going to check my cervix... I have been taking the EPO and also inserting... 2 weeks ago my cervix had no changes... not dilated or soft... hopefully some good news soon... I so want this to be over!! I'm ready for baby Michael!!

I had the opportunity to move my induction date to tomorrow. I decided against it though. I really can't wait for her to be here, but want to give my body a chance first. My cervix hasn't changed much since last week though which was disappointing.
What part of FL are you in? My sister moved back here from Homestead last year. Her house still hasn't sold down there... I feel so bad for them. They recently decided to just keep it because they'd be losing too much to sell at this point due to how many price reductions they've already taken.

I know what you mean I have a couple friends that just got pregnant or are in their first couple months and I don't remember us complaining much until more recently overall. It's so funny reading the posts everyone is just having a really tough time. I am so sorry to hear that you aren't sleeping well:( Both you and Brooke seem to be online in the wee hours of the morning.
Isn't it crazy to get pains in places you can't even describe?? I was telling John about the shooting pains literally in my cervix or vay j j or something!?!?! The doctor said it's the babies head on the cervix and/or hitting a nerve. Sometimes I feel like we are all going nuts-o. We are almost there though:)
I get off my medication and strict bed rest on Saturday and little Johnny can come whenever he wants ....oh Our son is going to be John King III (Trey). I really like more unique names...BUT I can't think of anyone that I would rather name my son after than the man that I love more than anything. For awhile we weren't telling anyone...but now word is getting out lol. I LOVE my FIL SO much and I am very honored to continue this family name:)
Are you doing ok working from home? I hope the stress isn't getting to you too much. Is your back still holding up?

I know!! I hope he decides to make his apperance soon!! I'm so tired of being pregnant!! My bf hasn't pack his stuff yet... he is not that worried cause we live 5 minutes from the hospital... I packed mine and the baby... i serached on the internet and packed whataver I found it was important... also my hospital gave me a list of what they provide which it was awesome!! here are some usufull websites:

Hi there, I am a huge Ravens fan. Are you too? It's kind of funny though-- my dad, mom, and sis are too, but my sis and I both married die hard Redskins fans. Thankfully, those 2 teams are not in the same conference, however, it is funny to raise kids in a household with parents and grandparents fans of 2 different teams. My sister's oldest is 3 and because his dad is in the Coast Guard and gets short deployments now and then, my parents and my sister had him dressing in Ravens clothes, and cheering for the Ravens. So now if you tell him to cheer for the Redskins he says no way. Lol It's hilarious. My husband has tried converting him, too, and I know he wants to try to get our daughter on his side. He says that our daughter will be wearing Redskins garb, not Ravens garb- and then I remind him that I'M the one who shops and will be dressing the child and I'll be dressing her in Ravens. Lol Anyway.... I'm rambling.
I live a little closer to DC than Baltimore since getting married, but Baltimore area is still my favorite. I lived in Columbia before getting married- are you familiar with that area? I have always said that this side of town is almost like living in a different state rather than a different county. I worked in downtown Baltimore for 6 years up until last year. I loved it.
It did rain a lot recently here, but now it's sunny. The rain definitely cooled things off a bit though. (upper 50's/low 60's this week)
So you don't have long to go either... about 4 weeks. I'm getting extremely restless. I'm actually about ready to go to my 39 week appt- I hope I get good news. If I don't deliver on my own before the 8th, I'll be induced on that day. I'd love to go on my own though. So far I'm 2cm dilated and 75% effaced.

Isn't it wonderful what we women go through for our children!!! Yes - we are all very excited to finally have our girl... especially mommy! The pregnancy thing is just not for me anymore... in my 20s it was great - I loved being pregnant - but I don't remember having ANY problems when I was pregnant with my boys - this little girl decided to come into this world with a bang!!! :0)

yeah, the problem is that she is a week behind. i wouldnt mind if she was a week ahead, i just worry that shes not growing as fast as she should. I guess the 45th percentile is a good thing though. i guess you can never trust the u/s machines!!

Well, at least you had one night of blissful sleep. Maybe we should all wear those adult diapers that Lisa Norad had to get us through the night lol.
I have noticed a decrease in movement which really shocked me because this little man is incredibly active. So...now I have been worried and started to notice it more to pay attention.
I'm doing ok. I was horribly sick all weekend. I have been sick for a long time without a break now. It doesn't help that the terbutaline to stop the contractions is making me more sick. I have just been miserable. I have only 6 more days on the medication and 6 more days stuck in bed. I just have to get through that!

sounds like the same thing almost, maybe? idk, did she have an abnormal quad screen do you know? and does she take aspirin?
i think my placenta wasn't flowing fas enuff and that's why i take the aspirin to thin the blood flow, so she she nutrients....well hopefully they both catch up, her measurements were all good except her abdomen which was lagging 2 weeks behind...hope they catch up~~
i saw something similar on the Health network yesterday actually, the baby was really tiny and 5 weeks behind but she didn't have the syndromes they were thinking she'd have thankgod!

I know!! We are all getting very close.
Most women with HG will have it again...but the severity changes a lot. I am just looking forward to having just a couple hours of being nausea free. I won't know what to do with myself:)

Let's see...well today I was really sick. I spent the day in a violent cycle. Tried to keep my nausea medications down and was throwing up, tried to calm the contractions and drink and then would throw up and have more contractions. ACKK! BUT~my appointment went well. There was no further dilaton and the terbutaline has stopped the contractions many time. They told me that I should take the medication this next week. At 36 weeks they will no longer stop the labor. They don't do steriod shots after 34 weeks for the lungs. I need to still stay in bed and take this medication for the contractions at least this next week. The following week I don't have to take the medication...but I need to take it easy. They really want me to get to week 38! I MAY take the medication two more weeks and then see what happens.
So....here I am back in bed. I just need to do this whole bed arrest thing for at least one more week then in two weeks I will be off ALL restrictions:)

oh god, you give me heart palpitations just thinking about the breathing and the events about to unfold without pain killers!! LOL. i dont think about it too much, its out of my control really and i feel laid back so far. Gauze - didn't even think to pick any up but I know they said you need it in class. I will have to add it to my list. I really liked the pregnancy massage class and mike seems proud of all the stuff he learned. it was a good way to end the crazy class schedule.
I need to get more purell as well. One for each room. Have you started to get in a cleaning mode. We have started but we are worried to do to much too early and then have it get dirty again. We are starting in rooms he won't be in very often. We are going to finish up in the kitchen since I think that is where you have the most germs.
I went to the doc he said it still looks like a csection will be necessary so we are booked for the 20th. I go back for an ultrasound in two weeks to confirm that is still the case. had the strep b test today - hated that. I start internals next week and then am on a once a week schedule. it was a crazy appt today. I had a very important conference call at 3 and my appt was at 2 and they were running really behind and i got in the room got undressed and was stressing big time about being done in time and had to pee as soon as the doc walked in i couldn't take it anymore and had to waddle down the hall to go pee of course the door was open to the waiting room and everyone got to see my great looking but cheecks by the time I made it back to the room the doc had moved on and I had to get back in the rotation. I ened up barely making it to my conference call.
