I had my first ultrasound which changed my due date and put me back two weeks! Ugh! But we are both healthy and I am so thankful!

November 6, 2007

We heard the heartbeat this morning!! 160 and doing very well! I also found out that somehow I have only gained 2 lbs. Apparently, I lost a weight and have gained it all back just in my belly and chest! I had no idea! Thought at least 8 lbs! :) But we're doing great and next appt, Dec 4.

Its official! We are having a wonderful baby boy! He is doing very well and weighs 9oz!

January 7, 2008 ~ 20 weeks. I told my doc that I have not felt the baby move a lot and she told me to go home and concentrate. So I did and guess what? I felt him and it was wonderful! Now I know what to look for and feel so much better my little angel is growing so strong!

February 5, 2008 ~ 24 weeks and 17 pound weight gain! Feeling great, just some normal aches and pains... growing pains!

February 22, 2008 ~ My wonderful, fantastic aunt passed away today and I am devastated by it. Trying hard to stay strong. When I get too upset, I definitely feel it effects my little one. Trying to focus on our memories and what a wonderful person she is. I know my little baby has an angel looking after him!

March 4, 2008 ~ 28.2 weeks Wow! Time is flying. I wish I kept a better journal on here of how I was progressing and what I was feeling. Oh well. Next time:) Had my glucose test today. It wasn't so bad. I didn't really feel much different after drinking the drink so I believe I'm going to be fine with that test.

Have gained a total of 24 pounds! Feels like so much but I really don't have a say in it. I don't eat junk food and I never overeat, so I'm convinced this is just the weight I am supposed to put on. My little boy is doing great and I am truly blessed!

Just working on getting things set for our little boy's debut! Baby Shower March 29, 2008 - Can't wait! Invites went out and people are already buying things for my little one. Makes me feel so good that we will have everything he needs. So excited!

March 5, 2008 ~ I found out today I failed my glucose test, so I have to take the three hour. I'm a little down, but I'm hoping for the best. I feel like I can handle anything that is wrong with me, as long as my little angel is strong and healthy. And he is doing great so I feel blessed! Whatever I have to do to keep him safe:)

March 6, 2008 ~ I had the best day today! I went for a pregnancy massage and a manicure, and when I got home, my husband had baked me a cake! I love cake! He'd never made a cake before, and it was so sweet. He is going to be such a great father. I am so lucky! Tomorrow I go for my 3 hour Glucose Test and am so glad he is going with me.

March 8, 2008 ~ I was hugging my husband at the airport and our baby kicked him! Like he was saying goodbye to his daddy... it was a precious moment! He is getting so strong I can sometimes see my belly move! Loving it!

March 10, 2008 ~ Passed my 3 hour glucose test ... no GD!!! The very best birthday present.

March 11, 2008 ~ Today I had to go to the ER because of a marked decrease in fetal movement. We found the heartbeat, but it was difficult to get a constant reading. After a few hours, finally, we were able to get a satisfactory read. It was heaven to hear and feel my little angel moving and kicking the fetal monitor... music to my ears. We don't know what caused it, hopefully we'll know more tomorrow when I see the doc.

March 12, 2008 ~ Went to the doc today to as a follow-up from my ER visit. She recommended I stop working now because the stress is just too much and endangering Ethan.

March 17, 2008 ~ Based on my doc's recommendation, I now work from home. No more running around the tri-county area and running myself ragged. This was the best compromise and my bosses were very happy they still have me as I'll be out completely in just a short time. I already feel better and know this is the absolute right thing for my little guy!

March 29, 2008 ~ BABY SHOWER! Fantastic wonderful Baby Shower!

April 3, 2008 ~ We had an ultrasound today and my little (or not so little) guy is weighing in at 5 lbs! The average baby weighs nearly 4 lbs now, so we're either farther along then they think or he is a bog baby (like his daddy was:). I'll have to ask next visit. Total weight gain at 32.5 weeks = 28 lbs. Doc says I'm doing great with the weight so all is good!

April 14, 2008 ~ I went to the office today (I only go in about once a week and do most of my work from home now). They surprised me with a shower and had all chipped in and bought us our big boy Britex car seat! We also got Neiman Marcus outfit, rattle and blanket... so beautiful and soft! I was so blown away they did that for us. Just wonderful!

April 15, 2008 ~ Doctor's appt. Strong heartbeat and measuring well. Ethan weighs 6 lbs now. I've gained a total of 29 lbs. Doctor is starting to seriously consider a c-sect, he is just so big!

April 19, 2008 ~ Our best friends, Jeff and Toni's wedding. I was supposed to be a Bridesmaid but am just way too pregnant. Scott was a Groomsman. Jeff set Scott and I up on a blind date, and I set Jeff and Toni up and the rest is history! Sending them lots of baby dust! (And yes, I wore my green dress from my Baby Shower and just hope it holds out for one more wedding on May 3:)

April 28, 2008 ~ Well, its official. My engagement ring is going in to the safe until after I give birth. But I can still wear my wedding band because I never got it sized so it is a little bigger. So I guess I have fat fingers! :) But I know it is water retention, not weight gain, since I have not gained any weight recently so that's ok! Hopefully my band will hold out! I'm ready to meet you, Ethan!!!

April 30, 2008 ~ Went to the police station this morning to have our car seat inspected for installation. Daddy-to-be got an A+! He is going to be an amazing father!

May 1, 2008 ~ Went to the doctor's today. We are not dilated but she could feel his head. He has a little while to go. I might be ready, but he's not:) But I'm glad I have some more time to get things done. Also had the Group B Strep test, no big deal. We got some clarification that what I am feeling is in fact contractions so now I know to pay more attention. We go back next Thursday.

Mikey is good... he has a little bit of an indigestion problem.... I'm breastfeeding him but I had to give him formula for the first week cause I didnt have enought milk... lukcly I don now... cause he had colic with the similac :(
Why did you decide not to breastfeed? It's a lot of work but it's better on Mikey's stomach , poor thing... he has reflux but he doesnt spit up much but burns him inside... doctor put him on zantac liquid 3x a day.... he is already on his birth weight again, he eats all the time!! How is you sleep coming along? Mikey sleeps good and I have to wake him up sometimes at night to eat... but he would go for 5 hours without waking up... it's pretty good I heard! ehhehe

how are you doing? adjusting? is breastfeeding going well? the questions and curiosity continue, its too bad we wont all have the same age babies so we could continue ":on the same page".

Hey you! How are you doing? How is Ethan doing? How is Scott?

I am doing ok. My recovery is REALLY tough which I guess shouldn't be surprising with the pregnancy that I had...but things are improving slowly.

John is doing great. He LOVES being a Daddy. We were in the hospital Wednesday-Monday so he had to go back to work on Tuesday which was incredibly difficult for him. He missed me SO much and of course wanted to be home with the baby.

I have not heard from Brooke yet. I hope that she is doing ok. I know from personal experience and what I have heard that the first day after the c-seciton you feel ok and then the next couple days are pretty hellish. I gave her a BUNCH of tips and I hoped that they helped. Luckily it sounds like Mike is incredibly supportive and will be there every minute to help her out. I could NOT imagine going through that without a loving hubby. She will need him to do EVERYHTHING to help her. John was so supportive to me. Helping me get out of bed, helping me walk, sit on the toliet, get up from the toliet etc. lol. I looked like a 90 year old lady walking around.

I got my 30 staples out! It was a big incision. Part of my resents not being able to have a vaginal birth, but I know it all worked out the way it was meant to be. My bladder has some damage and my tailbone is bruised from the forceps...but each day is better than the last. Amazingly even with the forceps I tore...but did not need stitches. I imagine that hurts even more!!!!

We're well! I've been having to supplement with formula because my milk isn't giving her enough which has been a bit frustrating, but it's getting better. The hospital has free meetings with a lactation nurse so I've been working with her. I was so surpised to see your little one had arrived early so early, but I bet you were grateful!

I can't wait to sleep on my belly!! But I'm sure it is weird.. You've got a baby inside for 9 months, and then in an instant, instead of being INSIDE your belly, they're ON TOP of your belly (when he's born and they set him on you) I think that might scare me a little!!

I'm actually due on Monday. But I think my little drama queen is planning on being fashionably late. Unless she's gonna keep me in suspense until the very last minute on Monday. My step-dad's birthday is actually the day after. He keeps telling me to hold her in so she's born on his birthday lol.

Yea, I've had plenty of labor signs. Just no baby yet! Contractions are on and off almost every day. Thought my water was leaking last night, but I guess not. Maybe it was my mucus plug or something.

I'm feeling pretty good, considering that my waddle has turned to a limp lol. I guess I have my days - just like we all do.

I'm alright.. just trying to be patient, waiting for something to happen!! It's so weird.. the women left all seem to be due on Memorial Day.. hahah. Maybe our babies are waiting to all be born on a special day!

How is the mommy club?? I can't wait to join.. lol. I just want to feel that full blown love everybody keeps talking about. I WANT IT!!

Hey-just read your birth story! I think it is so wonderful that our little guys have birthdays so close! Johnny would have been born on the 14th but I labored from the 14th to the 15th! I was thinking about you with my epidural problems! My surgeries were all high up, but I guess the dics or something caused problems they had to redo or up the dose 7 times!!!! They finally figured it out right before we went to the emergency c-section. I was SO out of it because of the epidural problems that I don't remember much and was only able to hold Johnny for a couple minutes that night. BUT....it all worked out. We both have our little babies and I am so happy for us:)

CONGRATS... He is adorable. I don't think it was me... It may have been though. I did use it after delivery. How was your labor? I am doing great... a little frustrated today, but that's all. I just poured a glass of good wine so I should be better in a few:) The boys are just fine. Parker is into everything and Spencer just sleeps, eats and poops...LOL Take care and let me know if you need any recommendations on anything else. :)

Ha that's funny, you defiantly would know your body better than the doctor's. I'm feeling ok. I was supposed to be induced today at 7am and by now be holding my daughter but the amino didn't go as planned yesterday so now it's put off until Friday. We (doctor's included) want her a bit early so she doesn't get too big. I broke my pelvis a long time ago but still have some pins and screws in there. My other option is a C-section but I did ok with my first daughter who was early. I'd like to try to avoid a surgery. We will see, hopefully better luck in a few days. We were just kind of sad that everything is on hold for a little.

Feeling well, I can't believe he weighed almost 8 pounds being a week and 1/2 early. Did you know he was going to be big? Did you suspect he was going to come a little early?

awwww I love your birth story and Im so happy for u. I cant believe all natural wow thats amazing. What was worse the labor or the pushing him out just curious?It must have been amazing. enjoy him. Im still pregnant and i think I will be for awhile. I went to the dr yesturday and and Im 1 cm and still thick so I guess shes not ready at all. Ive been walking everyday and trying tohave sex alot more but it doesnt seem to be doing it. Well see I kinda just give up for now thinking it can happen at any time,Im not going to worry until next week when shes overdue lol....Good luck with everything
