Sunday morning i was having mild contractions that weren't very close together so i didn't think much of them. Went to work, went to walmart, went home and the pains were getting much worse. They were about 5 minutes apart by this time. Well, by the time it was midnight, i kept having really bad contractions like 3-4 minutes apart and the pain was almost all in my back. So around 2:30am me and josh headed to the hospital. I thought they were gonna send me home, but the nurse hooked me up to the monitors, checked my cervix and told me "looks like its gonna be your baby's birthday today!" I was all the way thinned out and i was 3 cm dialated and the sac of water was right there so yeah! I was admitted. Well, the pain was getting pretty intense so i tried the shower and that didn't work, so i got out and by this time it was hard for me to walk around. The doc came in and checked me around 4:30 and i was 4 cm. He asked me if i wanted pain medication and i said straight out, "yes, i want an epidural." he said ok and i got the epi at 6 am. it made me feel soooo good!! the pain in my back was gone! So I took a nap for about 2 hours woke up and people kept coming in and out to visit. My cervix wasn't dilating very fast at like 8 am i was still at 5 cm so i was getting kind of frustrated. Took another nap and kept going in and out of sleep. around 11 am i started feeling cramping/pressure in my lower cervical area. It was my contractions getting stronger. By 2 pm it was getting really painful and i was about 8 cm. I was starting to get really agitated and bitchy. at 3 pm i was dying to push, so i started pushing and i pushed with all my might. That went on for an hour, doc came in to check my progress and said that skylar was a posterior baby and i can keep pushing for an hour to try to get her to turn, but if it didn't work, then we are gonna do a c-section. So i pushed soooo hard that last hour and i was exhausted beyond all belief, crying, swearing, trying to rest between contractions and it was all just a blurr. Well, doc came back in and said we are gonna do a c-section cuz skylar's heart rate kept dropping and it was getting dangerous for her to be in there. So they hurried me into the OR and i didn't care what they did to me cuz i was so exhausted i just wanted her to be born! So they hurried with my c-section b/c her heart beat kept dropping and going back up so they had to be hasty. My epidural was wearing off so, they had to give me a spinal too. Before I knew it, I felt alot of pressure in my abdomen. I knew that they were cutting me open! It was the weirdest thing cuz it didn't hurt at all, but i could still feel it. Josh came in and i remember asking him if i was dreaming. lol. The best part was when I felt them pull the baby out. I knew that it was her b/c i felt this relief in my crotch cuz her head was stuck there. Then I heard her crying and i began to tear up. I couldn't believe i was hearing MY baby CRYING. They briefly brought her over to me and josh and I just stared at her. I think I said hi but i don't remember. lol.
