Hi! I'm Jennifer, Married to Phillip. We live in Middle Tennessee. We currently have 2 children: Lexi is 6 and Parker is 3. I am also currently pregnant with a baby BOY, named Phillip Lucas, "Luke" for short. I work as a Registered Dental Assistant and my husband works for the United States Government.














June 2nd 2008
Today was my 24 week visit and everything looks great. The dr. said he believes that the baby is large for his age but thats okay with me! We have set a date to be induced on September 11th 2008! YAY!



June 18th 2008
I am sooooooooooo over this whole pregnancy thing! Of course I dont want him to come out now, I just wish things would hurry along. Well, Not really because I havent bought much at all for him! I dont know what I'm waiting on... My restless leg syndrome seems to be easing up. However, I cant sleep because I cant get comfortable. And when I do get comfortable I wake up and have to pee.... My back is so strained from the weight of the baby and the lack of weight I have not gained. I think that at this point you should have gained about 10-20 lbs... Im only up 4. It looks like i have a ball under my shirt. My husband loves my belly and comments on how cute it is all of the time..he's not the one carrying it...lol. I sometimes worry because he isnt a very active baby ( never really has been) But the dr says everything looks fine. I guess he's just lazy like his brother! Lets just hope he likes to sleep as well as his brother.


June 22 2008
today started off crappy! I couldnt sleep all night ( just tossing and turning) because of cramping in my back. This morning when I woke up and went to pee I lost my mucus plug. (ewww I know) My back kept hurting all day. I just couldnt get comfy. So I called my dr and he told me to go to labor and delivery asap. When I got there I was hoping that I was just imagining all of this. But, I wasnt. My contractions were 3 min apart for an hr. I wasnt dilated any but the nurse said I was thinning out. So the then gave me a shot of terbutaline to stop my contractions. I was also given a bag of i.v. fluid. Along with 4 (yes 4) sleeping pills to help me relax. I am at home now and doing good thus far.

Today I called my Dr. because I have had some cramping for the past 2 days. He once again made me go to labor and delivery. Nothing went on there. So he told me to go to his office (next door to hospital) and get an ultrasound. So I went and they told me I was at 30 weeks, not 28. I said , " Oh thats wonderful news!" lol. Then I stopped and freaked out because I realized that I dont have ANYTHING for him yet! He said that he thinks the reason I'm having contractions is partly because Luke is so big that every time he moves it causes me to have contractions. And the other part is that I will probably go into an early labor due to me being so small and Luke being so large.
August 17 2008
Luke has been trying his best to come since Wednesday, but my dr. has stopped him. I am supposed to be taking Nifedipine, but I stopped taking it because it makes the baby not move for a very long time. I am also supposed to be on complete bed rest but we all know that's not gonna happen with a 6 and a 3 yr old running around! The dr. wants me to at least stay pregnant until the 24th of this month...we'll see! I would however, like to go until sept. 9th (when im being induced) because we still have to get bottles and stuff.




BIRTH STORY:
Well, I was induced on September 9th @ 1:30 am. They didnt start my actual induction (meds) until about 4:30 am. I was only dilated to 1 cm. My nurse checked me @ about 6 and I was still @ 1 cm. I was in really bad pain at that point but since I hadnt dilated anymore I could not get my epidural yet so my nurse gave me some pain meds to knock the edge off of the contractions.
It worked pretty good for a while and I was able to relax a bit. Of course it wore off and In was in terrible pain again, as my contractions were one minute apart but my nurse didnt check me again because my dr was about to come in and see me and she said he was going to check me. This was about 8 am. When he came in around 8:30 He checked me and I was 5 cm and he broke my water. I asked for my epidural and he said it may take about an hr because everyone was about to go to surgery for a c section. So, I had to wait- but my baby had other plans..... My contractions were so bad I knew it was time (about 15 min after the dr left) But I was in so much pain! I resisted the urges to push because I really wanted to wait for my meds, and the dr! Finally about 9:05 I got my epidural but little did I know that I wouldnt need it- As I lay there (feeling every bit of it) I told my nurse "he's coming"- she checked me and I was complete and out popped his head! I only pushed one time (to get his shoulders out) after that and my dr arrived just in time to deliver my baby's feet. Luke was born @ 9:11 am weighing in at 7 lbs 10 oz and 20 inches long. He has light brown hair and blue eyes.
